D802 getting 4g to work - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Heya.
Recently some networks in my country started supporting lte. Anyway i tried enabling it on my phone:
I tried those 2 numbers:
*#*#4633#*#*
3845#*802#
In both of them I can change the setting and I see its working, but when I go to mobile network settings it gets reset and the option is not shown there. I can actually see the network H sign disappearing+reappearing when I go to the settings...
I tried restarting the phone, no help.
How can I get my settings to not reset each time?
Thanks!

If you have root go into system/app and first back up and then delete lteconfigs apk and lteconfigs odex and that should make lte an option in settings

Hey, thanks for replying.
I see the lteconfigs.apk but not the lteconfigs.odex there
[edit]
I deleted just the apk and the option appeared as you stated. Is it enough?

[Q] LG L5 E612g can't access to internet via data connection

Hi I have an LG Optimus L5 E612g only rooted no custom rom recently I updated the firmware to version v10 but I didn't noticed that does not work via data connection.
is there a way to configure manually this?
one curious thing is that when I try to find any available network it says network error.
or it is possible to reset the movil and downgrade de updates, because I did hard reset but still updated and rooted.
thank you!!
Go to your Android’s main Settings.
Under Wireless & Networks, go to “mobile networks.” You many need to hit “more settings” to get to this option.
Tap on Access Point Names (that’s what APN stands for).
Press menu, and then hit “New APN.”
Enter in all the necessary information in each field by tapping on it and then pressing OK to save.
After you’ve finished entering all the settings, press menu again and then Save.

[Q] *#*#4636#*#* not working

Hey i want to change my phone to WCDMA Preferred by using *#*#4636#*#* but when i am trying to use nothing happens?
'Hidden menu" on our note 3 is not enabled...
you need to be rooted...
And you'll need Root Explorer...
Go to file EFS/Carrier/hiddenmenu
Open with root explorer text editor
You will see the word "OFF"
Delete and type in "ON"
Use capital letters
Hit the back button "you have made changes to this file do you wish to save?"
Click yes
Reboot
You now have your hidden menu but I don't know if all the codes are the same as previous Samsung devices... I don't mess with it to much... I just used it to turn off the wifi power saving mode.

Not anything that I know of...
If you go to a Best Buy store when the Samsung specialist is working... they are supposed to be able to plug in and enable that menu to do their tests before giving you a warranty claim... maybe if you found one of those dudes and bought him a beer?

No need to enable the HiddenMenu anymore.
You can use 'Phone INFO ★Samsung★' app --> go to 'Secret Codes' menu, or use 'Shortcut Master' app --> go to 'Secret Code Explorer' menu to launch the secret codes (ROOT is required).

[Q] How to make LTE/4G stick!? - SOLVED

Hey!
I have the international D802 version and the "settings / tethering & networks / mobile networks / network mode" only shows 3 options, GSM/WCDMA; CDMA only; GSM only.
When I go into dialing *#*#4636#*#* or if I go into dialing 3845#*802# etc...to choose LTE/GSM/WCDMA! I can choose this mode and it works UNTIL I reboot, then it goes back to GSM/WCDMA!
Is there is anyway to make the LTE/GSM/WCDMA mode stick?!
Thanks!
EDIT: SOLVED
In build.prop change ro.telephony.default_network=9 from 9 to 11!
I got LTE settings in mobile networks menu. And it sticks after a reboot!
Thanks to @ejerez for the info in Here!
Heads up! It's solved in case anyone is interested!

Hi,
Thanks for the solution but I just need to check for the build.prop file, there are 2 similar lines as follows:
ro.telephony.default_network=9
& the other is:
#ro.telephony.default_network=9
Which do I change or do I change both? And do I need to change the permissions after changing it?
Thanks for your advice.

Man let me clarify that this solution worked for me on some ROMs and didn't work on other ROMs!
Both are the same, the # symbol in front of the expression makes it a comment and the program will disregard it!
So you can change only the first one, or to be safe you can change both. Nothing to lose!
Good luck!

Are you root ?
Check this:
Go to /system
Open the built.prop
search for ro.securestorage.support
If it says true , change to false
Save and reboot

Hi,
did you try to install wifi connections from zero ?
In your configured wifi networks , enterr the wifi settings by pressing for a few seconds , select modify network config then select show advanced options and disable proxy.

CM13 - LTE Enable

hi
how to enable LTE for CM13 or android 6?
or
for 5.1.1 (LMY48T) ?
how to get hybrid modem image...
thx all
For Android 5.1.1 you can use this flashable zip: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/4-4-3-nexus-4-lte-lte-tethering-hotspot-t2416822
thx
Thread is coming up as deleted now.

Anyone have a solution to this yet? I have the hybrid radio on my N4 that worked great with CM12 (provided LTE), but now that I'm on CM13 I'm stuck on 3G/HSPA+.
The "LTE enabler" version 2.14 has a check to make sure you're on Android 5 before it does its thing, so it doesn't work for Android 6. Is it safe to disable this check? I'll have to dig into the script and see what it's actually doing. I think it just flashes a hybrid modem image and then makes the build.prop changes to make LTE work (maybe also adds some APNs? Beats me). Hopefully all that is the same on Android 6.
you can disable that check i was in canada for a while and i was using frank aosp 6.0 with lte enabled

Actually, I don't think you can. Looking at the "nexus-4-lte-enabler-v2.14" script that changed the network mode, it makes changes to this file:
/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
However, that file doesn't exist on my Nexus 4 running the 12/30/15 nightly. Only "settings.db-backup" and "settings.db-journal" reside in that directory, and nothing else.
Did the preferred network setting move to a different DB in Marshmallow? I also noticed that if I enter the service menu via *#*#4636#*#*, I cannot change the Preferred Network Mode there (I can open the dropdown and pick something, but it doesn't change the "WCDMA Preferred" setting when the dropdown closes. It does nothing.)

Cm13 has a known bug , somebody forgot to put an entry into the framework apparently. The radio won't switch. See the thread over here ;

Any update on this? I see that the radio switch issue fix got merged a few days ago, and I do see in my build.prob that my preferred network mode is "9", even after rebooting.
But my phone always shows H+ or 3G next to the mobile data icon on the taskbar. Even if I go into the 4636 menu and change to LTE/GSM or LTE/CDMA (which I can now do because taht bug was fixed), it STILL shows H+ or 3G (and frequently rapidly bounces between H+ and 3G).

The fix has been merged , 5th of january or later builds don'T have that bug. But i've seen some corrections on the code suggesting that wcdma and gsm should be enough. If they merge that then we won't be able to use LTE. 3g and gsm would be fine though.
Anyone figure out a way to enable LTE on the Nexus 4 in CM13 yet? Really don't want to use some random guy's AOSP custom build if I can avoid it. I want CM features!

So after hunting around, i decided to check why the LTE is not persisting after reboot and tried and old trick: change the build.prop to READ-ONLY and remove the write flags in any file explorer (ES/ROOT etc)

It's not that LTE doesn't stick on reboot. It's that it cannot be enabled AT ALL in CyanogenMod 13.

Can you tell me what CM13 build you're using at the moment, and what your build.prop looks like? If you don't mind?
No matter what I do, I cannot get off of 3G/H+ on CM13. Not in the 4636 menu (I can change to LTE/GSM auto, but no effect), and not in the Cellular Networks settings (only choices in the GUI are 2G and 3G).
I had no problem using LTE on CM11 or CM12. I'm on the same hybrid modem image I've been using forever (2.0.1700.33).
Thank you for your help!

So I think I have figured out what's going on. After loading CM13-20160210-nightly, I did *#*#4636#*#* and changed "Set preferred network type" to LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL), turned off then on the radio and saw only H+ come up. I clicked the options menu (top right 3 dots) and under "Select radio band" i noticed that the LTE Frequencies are not listed!! I added the 3 lines manually to build.prop then saved it as read only too just in case but it did nothing so I think we know why the LTE isn't showing up now. Only AUS, USA, Japan, Cellular and PCS band are in this build.
Could this explain anything by chance?? It seems only GSM frequencies are available.
FYI adding the lines to build.prop and setting it to read-only doesn't work for the latest CM13 build. I hope LTE is supported soon in CM13.
Take a look at query.sh script in Nexus 4 LTE enabler 2.13 zip. Script deletes and inserts 2 records in settings.db database.
