Hi Guys.
I want to stay updated on my note 3 (haven't updated since February and I am now on: XXUENB1)
I recently rooted via towelroot. How do I update to latest (and most stable) version of (stock) touchwiz without loosing the root access?
Thanks

I have a rooted Note 3 AV 4.3 MN SM-N900W8, I rooted without issue with the CF autoroot, now I know there is the new 4.4 kitkat update but I can not auto update without unrooting, What I am looking for is recommendations from others as to what they did to update (either unrooting or rom install) and if your willing could you tell me what you did and include any links to ROMs you used etc,
Thanks so much

Hi
I have an I9505 which was at 4.3 by default. I used the CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar to root it and after that i updated it with odin and I9505XXUFNB8_I9505TSIFNB1_I9505XXUFNB8_HOME.tar that i got from sammobile.com .
now I don't know that after updating official rom, i'm rooted or not?!!
I flashed Trwap recovery again. I don't know that can i flash a custome rom now with it or i have to root again? if YES, the CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar will work again with android 4.4.2 or not?
thanks
please guide me.

There is an app called Root Checker which does what the name says. Usuallly, you can preserve root while upgrading if you got SuperSU Pro and have "Survival Mode" enabled.
You don't need to root for flashing a custom rom. You can just flash from the recovery.
Thanks
I flashed a new rom
hello,
I have the 910F variant with CF AUTO ROOT installed. original stock rom.
I would like to install an OTA update but can't do that with root.
Can I some how unroot the device WITHOUT loosing anything important ?
Will the OTA update work then?
After the all process is done can I still root it regulary with cf auto root?
regards
You have to flash stock rom with odin, last week i messed rom so i installed the stock over it and i didnt lose any of my info, i guess it should be the same with you, after you can update and apply root again

Hi everybody!
I recently updatet my formerly rootet G2 (D802) to Android 5.0 (OmniROM). My Problem is that I somehow lost root and I'm wondering how I can restore root on the phone with 5.0 installed.
I didn't find any links/howtos or tips to do so under 5.0 so is anyone here who can give me a little piece of advice?
Thanks!

If you read the OmniROM original post you find this:
ROOTING:
Since OmniROM does not come rooted out-of-the-box, you can use SuperSU to do that if needed.
You can always fetch the latest stable from chainfire's site: Download
Flash it via TWRP and you're done.

I have a root Verizon S5 running 5.0 stock. I would like to upgrade to the new 6.0.1 and keep root. I've tried searching with no real success. Can I upgrade to 6.0.1 and keep root?
fyi - I disabled OTA updates, I think I froze or renamed the process.
If I can't use the stock ROM and have root, is there a 6.0.1 ROM the collective would recommend?
