Hey guys.well as you all know some of us have trouble when applying custom theme on 4.4 [KK] and for some reason the back softkey button size is bigger than usual.so i wondered around some place and finding for a similar problem and i found a way.so i decide to share it to you guys in hope that it may also help you..
OK.Lets Go.
1.Decompile your SystemUI.apk (Make a backup 1st!!!)
2.Navigate to res/layout/navigation_bar.xml and open it with notepad++ or other editing tool.
3.Delete
Code:
android:scaleType="center"
From
Code:
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.policy.KeyButtonView android:id="@id/back" android:layout_width="@dimen/navigation_key_width" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:src="@drawable/ic_sysbar_back" android:scaleType="center" android:layout_weight="0.0" android:contentDescription="@string/accessibility_back" android:layout_marginStart="@dimen/navigation_key_outer_margin" systemui:keyCode="4" systemui:glowBackground="@drawable/ic_sysbar_highlight" />
4.Save it and recompile ur SystemUI.apk then put it back where it belong
5.Reboot.Done

I found the solution on @whitemamba original thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2452822) but i decide to remade it for [KK] as the data in the nav_bar.xml has been changed a little.

Hi There,
I don't like stock battery. It's kinda insufficient. I want my battery should show how much is remaining. In percentage wise. so I just modified it.
Few of you guys can have same problem so you can use this.
How to Install?
With any file explorer which has root permission (Root Explorer) push both the file in correct place.
Framework-res.APk in system/framework (Have to replace with original one).
SystemUI.APK in system/apps (Have to replace with original one).
Reboot.

You dont need that framework-res.apk!
Just edit images inside SystemUI.

Hello guys!
I've been trying for several days to theme Contacts.apk.
I've tried so hard to bring ICS look to Galaxy Y, and now I'm stuck at Contacts.apk
Can someone help me, please?
This how it looks so far:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This how CM7 Contacts looks:
See that Dial/Send SMS buttons look in mine and how looks in CM7?
I want that action button to look exactly as CM7. So I want from this:
--to this:
If someone know how to do it, please, but please tell me how to.
Thank you and have a nice day!
copy whats in cm7 contact then paste to your contact...
@MARINALIN85 .... i like what u said ...that ur trying hard to theme ics for our galaxy y....can i see ur work as a complete rom....am interested in something like that ...ics for our y.... and u seem to be working well for it.... so where have u reached any ics based roms u made and uploaded...pls give me link...
Hey do you have link for your contacts.apk? I like it. It's awesome.
Talking the app designing way
The layout xml of that view needs to be edited to change the dimensions of the button and aligning them...
There should be a line align_right/left/top/bottom =""(more or less similar) -editing that can make the button smaller(default also)
You can use eclipse to view some layouts ....
