Has anyone tried flashing a different radio on the N900W8? Specifically wondering if any users on wind mobile have successfully changed their radio. I'm still on the NB7 stock one.

To what? To n9005 modems? You're on the "best" for the Canadian device already.

Yes that's what I was wondering, thanks.

Hi everyone,
I had a Note 2 on the Three Network here in the UK. Fine no problems at all. Got the Note 3 (SM-N9005) and the data connection is dire. Only difference - apart from the phone model of course - is the Note 2 was on Jellybean.
Should I attempt to downgrade, will it make any difference?
Thanks in advance.

Attempting to Downgrade on a device that is not a W8 variant means you will trip your KNOX and fail to Downgrade at the end.
Don't bother.

Then try a different modem, software usually doesn't affect the baseband but the baseband firmware itself does.

There's a thread for a list of modems. Try Google it with the keyword xda.

Thanks guys. I suppose now I can be a little more adventurous. Is there any hardware difference?
AFAIK, the difference is N910H doesn't have LTE
How do I do that? Or can you explain me what exactly do you mean? I have a N910H and I'd like to flash roms down the road (maybe if some AOSP comes out later) but I have noticed most roms so far are coming for the C version.

So roms for the C won't work on the H?
I wonder what will happen if I flash a 910c fw. Any chance of permanently bricking the device?

You can flash the f/w. I am using WanamLite for N910C on my N910H and it works fine. Of course 4G/LTE is not functioning.
The only last step to the conversion is establishing if the modem of N910C will work on N910H. Until now, we know that the modem hardware is the same on N910H and N910C. I haven't tried to flash the modem on my N910H because I really don't want to brick my 800$ device I bought last week. Down the road someone is bound to try it, then we can even enjoy 4G on our N910H variant if it works

I haven't tried it myself, but this is the N910C modem bin. https://mega.co.nz/#!xo5C3YYJ!YYpCflrH2EZ9dWadOlYau0hk0n9yHFGy2aQH6W3ySy8
Furthermore there's extensive discussion on the matter in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/sm-n910h-3g-variant-t2925648/

Is the modem included with the roms? Like, if go to the dev section I see a lot of 'C' roms. Will I be able to flash all these roms without affecting the modem of my 'H' variant? or is it included with the custom rom?

I've flashed WanamLite and SweetRom (N910C) and both worked fine without affecting my modem. Make sure you change the network to WCDMA/GSM insted of LTE/WCDMA/GSM.

Thanks, 2 more questions.
1) Is this going to be the case always? or are there roms that include the modem when flashing?
2) Is any of those two smoother than stock? If so, which one?
Thanks again

1- As far as I know, no, the modem stays untouched while flashing custom ROMs through CWM/TWRP. Maybe someone with more experience on the matter could confirm this.
2- Both are much better and have noticeably better battery life.

It says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
Mind you I tried different basebands and bootloader via Odin.

1. This seems problem of the custom ROM. You can ask in the correct thread of the custom rom or simply flash stock lollipop (step 2).
2. HERE.

There is no Lollipop for mine. There is only 4.4.2? What do I do here?
And isn't there a way for correcting this without reflashing stock ROM?

You can flash UK Lollipop firmware if is unlocked. They use the same Bands for 4G:
- Australia -> 4G LTE Optus 1800/2300Mhz.
- UK -> 4G LTE 800/1800Mhz/2600Mhz/3500/3600Mhz.

hello, i have some questions that stuck in my mind and i need an answer
first, i live in Algeria. and the coming I9505 are from different varies. i mean some are from Germany, and some from France (Orange)...Etc
so, here's my questions:
1. what worst can happen when i flash for example (I9505XXUHPK2) firmware, but the original phone firmware is (I9505XXUHOJ2)?
2. why Samsung made all these Basebands & Firmwares? and what's the difference between all these?
They are for different carriers/countries.
If your phone is carrier locked, and you flash the firmware from a completely different carrier, you will have no signal.
