I've been on CM for a while now, and had a week back on TW, where i noticed the battery life to be four times better, so i'm wondering if theres a way to archive just half as good battery performance on an AOSP rom? that would really be wonderful.

Yeah the profile feature really is a lifesaver. My Note can last the last 10% on standby overnight, and when I wake up I can continue charging.

I ordered a new battery but its gonna take some time before it arrives.
By the time I was thinking if there is any way to drain out my old battery without using my Galaxy 3?
Maybe like attaching a light bulb?
Is it possible?
why do u wanna drain out the old battery??

I don't know.....
Just curious I guess.....
Or is there anyway by which the phone stops calculating the battery left and then directly switches off when the battery becomes 0?
And my new battery hasn't arrived yet.....
Maybe with a LED... not?

Don't do anything like this, it could kill the battery or even be more dangerous.

The battery is already as good as dead.
What worse could happen?

Howdy bud!
I'm running the MIUI.us 1.10.14 (just release today) I usually get with a regular 1500mah battery nearly 28hrs of usage and still 29% of battery at that point.
Overclocked settings set to 1.2ghz - interactive profile
Juice Defender Ultimate to manage many different aspect of enabling and disabling service with either screen on or off. Makes a difference.
I suffer from no lag and memory usage leaves me usually with about 90mb of free ram to play around.
Email/Gmail are constantly on
Most of what my battery consumption is the cell standby usage.
I think I'm getting quite good use of the device.
Here's a screen cap.
Performance?
I've tried ROMs with Sense, and the performance is TERRIBLE with them. I'm running Xboarder 2.3.5, which has insane battery life. Is the performance with the MIUI really better than a Sense ROM? The response time is really my only concern and issue with ROMs.

It's definitely better than Sense, but the UI itself is much slower (scrolling), and it's not nearly as fast as CM7.

I believe you need to accumulate 10 posts before you can post in the dev fora.
This is just a simple tweak for users who prefer 10% battery steps instead of the 1% cm7 default. The file is located in /system, build. Prop. Change the 1 percent to 10 percent and save file. Original will be automatically saved as a backup.

I don't understand it, either. I'd personally much prefer an accurate (as much as possible) reading on my remaining battery capacity. Hey... maybe it's his latest "this will work now, really, I mean it this time" fix for battery problems: "if I can't fix the problem, I'll hide it instead, because a problem doesn't exist if you can't see it."
Lol, because 1% drain can look like a foreboding countdown and make people stress.
10% would be the 'see no evil' approach

From 3.0.2
I have battery drain and some people say and post comment at MiniCM9 thread what are best settings. "But I can't find it"
My settings: ONEMAND--> 122/600MHz ---> Undervolt
Why is my battery time better in previously version of rom?
I delete all tasks in backround and I have the same settings in both.
Can someone help me and give me answer, for the best settings and for no LAGGY.
I know that is one thread about battery time- HERE,but I dont see anything about settings!
to all those who suffer from battery lifetime:
just leave the phone charging after the 100% for extra 2 hours or something. U don't need to tun it off or wipe stats, just leave it over charge. U don't even need to play with system files
i use OC 748, 2G only, swap partition, wifi off when unused and battery is fantastic ! see attachment !

Uh huh! That's why! Your phone battery ate too much power. That's why it is too stuffed to do any work and wants to sleep.

I charged all night just once - yesterday to today! Of I charged it to 100% and stop it, battery is good but it lost a lot of %, I can't use it for one day
1-Charge your phone to 100%
2-Poweroff your phone and leave it charging for 1-2 more hours
3-Boot on CWM and wipe battery stats
4-Go to build.prop and find this line "ro.telephony.ril.v3=1,icccardstatus,skipbrokendatacall,datacall "
Add qcomuiccstack at the end of the line. It should look like this :
ro.telephony.ril.v3=1,icccardstatus,skipbrokendatacall,datacall,qcomuiccstack
5-Enjoy
I've done that and my battery became immortal
All steps above are extracted from miniCM9 thread(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575094), all credits go to people who discover it

Maybe try analyze what app using most of your battery?
The EXACT SAME setup as yours. Maybe 1h on data, the other on WiFi
Reinstalled the newest version of rr, mint kernel. Hope it helps.

stock march also isn't something to write home about, but atleast its better than op
Well, first of all, Facebook Messenger is a battery killer.
Check your apps and the strength of your data signal. Poor strength or signal loss has a huge impact on battery life.
Also how do you use your phone? What kind of usage?
Enable adaptive brightness. I get around 4.5H SOT @50%.
I saw Facebook notification
Get Frost Test app in Apps and Games in XDA
I think it was a problem with the ROM. Now i have about 6-7 hours of SOT with AOSP Extended and Franco Kernel. All apps are the same, nothing changed.
Same for me i also facing battery problem
