[Q] Need Help to Root KitKat Build G7102XXUBNG8 - Galaxy Grand 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Friends..yesterday i updated my grand2 (SM-G7102 -XXV- Vietnam) to kitkat (G7102XXUBNG8)..then i try to flash CMW by odin many times (which success on JB-G7102XXUANG4)..odin struck..i kept up to 30min..nothing happen..phone bootloop....i think this CWM only support for G4 not G8..then i reinstall the firmware again..then try to root CF auto root method..this also got bootloop..So can any one help to root G7102XXUBNG8? or got success? please help..

I flashed G7102XXUBNG8_G7102OLBBNG3_XSP.zip (Singapore) and then flashed CWM-Touch-6.0.5.0-NG4-ms013g.tar with odin no problems. I followed this guide and rooted the phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-grand-2/general/guide-easily-root-galaxy-grand-2-sm-t2812807.

[Q] To root again after official update or not?

Hi
I have an I9505 which was at 4.3 by default. I used the CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar to root it and after that i updated it with odin and I9505XXUFNB8_I9505TSIFNB1_I9505XXUFNB8_HOME.tar that i got from sammobile.com .
now I don't know that after updating official rom, i'm rooted or not?!!
I flashed Trwap recovery again. I don't know that can i flash a custome rom now with it or i have to root again? if YES, the CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar will work again with android 4.4.2 or not?
thanks

There is an app called Root Checker which does what the name says. Usuallly, you can preserve root while upgrading if you got SuperSU Pro and have "Survival Mode" enabled.
You don't need to root for flashing a custom rom. You can just flash from the recovery.
Thanks
I flashed a new rom

[Q] Unable to install custom recovery on Note 3

Hi guys,
Not sure of this wss covered already but i was unable to locate anything that helps
I currently have a Galaxy Note 3 n9005 international LTE version with stock kitkat installed 4.4.2. The phone is rooted which i did upon receiving it and have super user 2.0 installed. i have confirmed root with titanium back.
Now i wanted to try a custom rom and tried to install the new phillz touch recovery but observed that it kept failing in odin (tried several times) i even tried to install a custom recovery via ROM Manager which it said the update was complete but when ever i boot into recovery mode i keep get the stock android recovery.
i have search and cannot find anything that help so here i am.
My Android version N9005XXUENC2 AND Kernel version is 3.4.0-636608 dpi @SWDD5619 #1
From my understanding once u root it should have install a custom recovery. When i got the phone it came with Jelly bean 4.3 and i rooted then updated to kitkat, could this be the issue. Does that mean i have root again?
Any assistance given is greatly appreciated.
I have the same Problem rooted with towelroot work fine with knox 0x0 and i have testet it with Rom Manager and with Rom installer have installed twrp and cwm all Not work sorry 4 the Bad english.

If you have updated via Kies, i think you lost the root access. Download a root checker app and check the root status.

Question on rooting 5.1.1

Hi. I have a couple of questions on rooting my Note 4.
I'm running unrooted stock 5.1.1 on my SaskTel (Canadian) 910W8.
What are my steps to rooting my device currently? I see a lot of talk about using Odin to put the Bell firmware on, installing TWRP through Odin, installing SuperSU and installing a custom kernel but those instructions seem to imply I'm not currently on 5.1.1 or I'm already running a rooted 5.0.1 or earlier device.
Is there no easy chainfire type of method?
I just basically want to run stock rooted 5.1.1 on my device.
Thanks.

How to Root Stock Rom

Hi guys , need help .. i ahve galaxy note 4 n9100 h ... just installed 6.0 marshmallow on it .. firmware is stock ..now want to root ..plz tell me how to root 6.01 stock firmware ....
i tried CF-auto root but its now work ...
CF auto root should have worked! Anyway, flash TWRP via Odin, then flash latest SuperSU from TWRP.

Exactly. Do that and you're done! [emoji1]
if you failed rooting note 4 using CF autoroot, then you must have done something wrong.
follow the instruction exactly to the letter.
I've rooted my 910H (stock 6.0.1) 3 times without any problem.
