Hi guys
So I have an s4 and an s5. Both 4.4.2 and both rooted. I connect to a Samsung TV with screen mirror and they generally connect ok. I then launch a VPN client to get to Netflix US and as soon as i do this this it will disconnect the screen mirror. Tried a few VPN clients. I think i read before about this but cant find the link. This does not happen using a rooted s3 though so im guessing its not the fw on the TV. Any help would be much appreciated as i cant sell my s3 until i get the screen mirror working properly on the s4 or s5
Thks
Screen mirroring on the S5 works properly for me. Unfortunately you didn't give us screenshots or a detailed description of your screen mirror settings, making it impossible for anyone to review your settings or spot the problem.
We can't see what your settings are - you're more likely to get useful answers if you do that in detail.

Custom KERNEL + Screen mirror doesnt work correclty. I was told even with the S4 System status Both Binary & System must be Official.
Thats ridiculous I want my custom kernel and tweaks , does anyone know how to get official status back without flashing stock kernel?

Hi
I was wondering if anyone can help with a small problem? I have a S5 the model number is SM-G900S_V01
I understand this is the Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900S (Korea version) I wanted to root it and apply another ROM as there are some aspects of the ROM that fall short of the European version.
I have a couple of questions really, and would be most thankful if someone could answer them for me.
When I try to root the device by holding the Volume Down, Power and Home Buttons the the screen as seen below, lots of writing I can't understand, I am guessing it's Korean!
Try as I might I cannot get Odin to see the phone, the only other way I can change this screen is to hold the Volume Up, Power and Home buttons, then I get the other screen, I think this is the recovery screen and not something I need. So my questions are as follows:
1 Can I install the European version of the OS even though it's region is set to Korea?
2 Can anyone tell me how to get into the download screen so I can get Odin to work?
Thanks in advance for any help you maybe able to give me.
Yeah!
I have the same problem.
So...
is there some solution for this problem?

SO many knowledgeable people on here and no one can answer this question. I have searched google and all xda still nothing. Surely someone must know if we can install the SM-G900F uk stock firmware on the SM-G900S korean version
Yea....
I have the SAME phone. i need to kno how to update it so i can root it and move the hell on from this stock factory crap...
Maybe you all already know, but there is CF-Auto-Root for the SM-G900S.
And TowelRoot may also work for this device ... if its firmware is not too new. (Samsung patchd its latest firmware versions so that the exploit which TowelRoot uses for rooting.)
Sorry if the info comes too late ...
I'm in the same ship , i have the same phone . BTW is any way to go in service mode to this phone ?about the towelroot , is not working for the phone with kernel after 3 june , so mine is from 25 june 2014. Hope is someone out here how can help us to make this root !TIA

Do you find something to resolve the phone ? I am in the same situationes like you .
Finally the answer, well I think it is
Okay, after a lot of messing about I can tell you that this phone is a copy from China, it is a good copy at that, but the point being, you can do much with it to be fair. As far as I know there isn't a way to put another rom on it, but I did find these YT vids some help is explaining it all a little bit more.
Hope that helps someone

Rooting and installing a custom room tripped (set) a knox void status. This is knox messing with your phone.
Best approach is 1) keep root; 2) install SuperSU (from the market), disabling knox when asked for;
3) Now you can try this wifi-i9505-problems-flashing-custom-rom or this simple solution for wifi not going on. Good luck.

Hi Guys,
I have just realised something, this is nothing to do with KNOX, it is only the official status thing that changes when you have a custom Kernel or Custom rom.
Screen Mirroring does NOT work when you are in Custom Status, this happened to be the same when I googled and found S4 was the same post after post after post of people stating the same thing (I get an error or hardware device error when screen mirror starts or it will start for 4 seconds then stop.
For people wanting to see their status -
You can see this in Download Mode or You can see this in ABOUT DEVICE > STATUS> Scroll all the way down to bottom.
There is a solution which worked on the S4, where you were able to change status from custom back to Official, Yes KNOX is still tripped if you have tripped it but the status is able to be changed back to official
Can someone please direct me to a way we can get official status back on the S5, I love my kernel and my tweaks, and I love my latest firmware I dont care about Knox. For the people who are scared about Knox, I was able to change my phone for a new phone because of a defect and this is after I triggered knox, I was sent a new phone and I placed the old phone in the bag and sent it back, guess what ? I tripped knox again lol (who cares) most of the time when you go to swap your phone they don't check.
All I want is the official status back so I can get my screen mirroring working, this is an awesome feature
Anyone?
Am I the only person with a rooted Knox-tripped S5 with custom , Recovery,Kernel & want to use screen mirroring?
S5 Development is no where near the type of dev we had when the S3 came out, pretty sad.
I think now that the HTC + LG are up in terms of hardware many people left the samsung scene leaving less devs in the area.
Hi,
I have same promlem here. when I open screen mirroring tv and phone connects and suddenly disconnect and shows a error ''screen mirroring cant start caused by a hardware problem''.
I have sm g900h stock kernel+xtrestolit rom+cwm recowery
works fine for me

No, you aren't. For me with Knox tripped and custom recovery, kernel and NeatROM2.3 it works fine and I am in custom status.
Using Xposed app "Wanam Xposed", you can set your status to Official under the "security Hacks" section of the app.
I have rooted my device SM-G530FZ. SE for Android status shows permissive and no code is appearing whereas when I have checked the other rooted device of the same model it shows "Enforcing SEPF_SM-G530FZ_4.4.4_0033 Fri Jan 23 17:06:33 2015. I don't understand why my device shows permissive without any other details. Can someone help me out to enable SE for Android on my device. Thanks
I have rooted my device, SM-G530FZ. Now I am unable to register to the Network provider and also the device shows "SE for Android has been turnedoff." Can anyone help me out to resolve this issue? Thanks

Hello, this is herna from XDA Assist.
Normally when you root your device this kind of problems are not normal. I don´t know the process you used, but seems that you changed the kernel, and this is one of the reasons of why it´s not working correctly.
My suggestion is to do a factory reset on your phone or flash an official firmware trough any Samsung installer, if there is, or manually.
If you want to get any better answer to problems like this one you should do in the section below, which is the Galaxy Grand Prime official help thread:
Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime
<Mod Edit>
After buying my edge plus I immediately rooted my phone using the kernel of arter97. I also had to flash the firmware after installing xprivacy as my phone didn't boot anymore. Cause of that I don't know if my problem is the result of rooting or existed from the beginning.
Now everything seems to work fine except the edge. If I want to add a contact it switches into the contact-menue, I choose a contact and nothing happens. The space in the edge doesn't show the choosen contact and keeps the plus-symbol instead. The same if I want to add an app.
In the edge-menue I can't make changes like to switch off the vip or the app or the light. It behaves as if I wouldn't have the right to overwrite the settings.
Does anyone has the same problem? How to solve?
Thanks!
My configuration:
Modell SM-G928F
Android-Version 5.1.1
Kernel 3.10.92-arter97
Nobody? Who knows which system-files are responsible for the edge? Maybe I just would have to change the rights to write?
Would be very grateful for an answer.
I tyred to have some help by the Samsung-Hotline. I described my problem but they even don't want to give me a little hint cause they don't give service to a rooted system. And anyway they wouldn't know the responsible files.
Nobody here with the same problem? Am I the only one with a rooted edge+ ?

Hey man. Making the 'Edge services work' is not easy. First of all which firmware/custom rom do you use currently? I flashed a custom note5 rom which hasnt got edge screen feature and wanted to bring it again. Digged and found something, flashed one of versions(Edge feature_forN5.zip) (3 version remain) and got back the Side apps and contacts feature(I got BOOTLOOPS with v0.3 and DIDNT try OJ5v). Night clock and information stream never worked btw. I got bored of tryin bla bla. Now using Audax Plus rom and all edge features are fully workin. Whatever have a look at the link;
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=39847
and his thread is in;

Good luck..
Hey Konsstantine,
first I want to thank you a lot for your support. I will try it the next days and give feedback.
As far as I see this work was done for the galaxy note 5 edge. Do you think it works with the S6 edge +?
Forgot to write my firmware:
I installed G928FXXU2AOJ5
Android 5.1.1

Hey. Yeah Im s6 edge plus user. It was working good for my Tekxodus Note5 rom installed s6e+ That rom havent got the edge features in old versions. But that does not enough to understand that why your edge features dont work. Btw you can see which apps related to edge things in that zip. I think you missed somehing, maybe you should try(if didnt) factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik.
I want to thank you again.
By coincidence I just found the reason for my problem - its a bit embarassing ...
I blocked the rights of the service "PeopleStripe" on my rooted phone. Giving it back its rights the edge is working fine.
