Without using a 3rd party TouchScreen?
maybe this could help you :

Looks promising at least. I'll have to try it next time I get frustrated with AOSP and go back to TouchWiz.
Thanks!

Is there any way to remove or hide the data/wifi toggles from the notification bar pull-down? I know most people love em' but I could really go without them.

They are built into all TW roms, only way to get rid of them is using an AOSP rom if I recall correctly...

People are you usually trying to give the game/app onscreen more importance. ParanoidAndroid and CyanogenMod both hide the navigation bar too now. You are definitely going in the opposite direction. I have never heard of an app that would make it reappear, why you would you want it too?

i know what u mean, for specific apps that doesn't need to go full screen it would be nice to show status bar
someone should make an app that allow you to manually enables/disables status bar in specific apps would be great

ParanoidAndroid may have that option, since they have the option to force full screen.

In synergies codefire SR15 it is impemented.
If you drop town the upper side of the screen twice in fullscreen, you are able to access into the statusbar.
I really love it, because im always able to use fullscreen and have access to the statusbar.

I've looked and not been able to find, but has anyone created a sideloading app for this?

i believe that after the new update, it enables a semi-transparent status bar which works with all wallpapers. I heard that if you want to keep root, don't update, but I guess this is one way to get the new status bar :silly:

You could always try a launcher... Like Apex that allows for a transparent notification bar.

Only if you run samsung wallpapers.
Nova launcher also gives you the option of a trans status bar..no matter what wallpaper you use.

With the latest update, all wallpapers are supported with a semi-transparent status bar (even on the Touchwiz Home launcher).
Enlightened ftw
Anyone know how to apply icons from Nox Icons to the G2 without using a non-stock launcher? I prefer using the stock G2 launcher to keep "knock knock" but don't like the icons. I already tried changing the icons by long pressing the icon I want to change and selecting the Nox icon I want but it keeps saying "Failed to load image".

You can keep knock on/off with 3rd party launchers, you just need to double tap the status bar up top.
Yeah I know, but that's too hard to do one handed (or I'm just too lazy). I was hoping there's a way to find the icons using a file browser or maybe someone has the icons in a zip.

You can also download a program called Turn off screen, using nova, after you set up "turn off screen" go to activities under gestures in Nova, and set double tap as turn off screen. Also, if you have root, in the app section, someone has developed the regular launcher with pretty much all options you can think of.
Have fun.
User Xposed and Icon themer module. Works awesome.
Thanks Devs. From my VZW G2.

thanks, will give this a try when i get mine.
I did a little research and wanted to know if I really have the right info regarding wallpapers and the notification bar.
Please: no need to tell me to root or to use an alternative launcher. I am well-versed in both, but I remain interested in staying stock and using the default laucher.
So, is it the case that:
- The only way to have a transparent notification bar (it looks great) is to use the stock, LG-supplied wallpaper?
- There is no way to add to the stock wallpaper collection?
Thanks in advance.
I have the exact same question as OP
I currently use Xposed and Gravitybox for transparent action bar (nav. bar) and status bar, but only for home screen mode. In lockscreen the bars show wallpaper of homescreen not set lockscreen wallpaper

Thanks ZenWan - but Xposed is only for rooted devices, right?
Although I have plenty of experience with rooting and custom ROMs on previous phones, I really want to keep my G2 completely stock.
Aye, I believe it only works with rooted devices. But fair enough, understand your reason ^_^

There's ZOR over at the Theme's section who makes his own themes. Chose's his own wallpapers and icons and all and still has transparent as stock. I saw in one of a couple pages that he posted a link on to how he made them. that could be another way to achieve that. I myself wanted to keep but my impatience made me root; xposed and now i have that and way more options. are you afraid to void your warranty?
