I succumbed and bought a keyboard for my 12.2. It's the Samsung one. Althought, I haven't tried any of the other third party keyboards like Logitech or Zagg; I have to admit that the keyboard truly enhances my experience with this tablet.
Typing on the keyboard is superb. I thought the on screen keyboard would suffice. I am completely wrong! Nothing beats the tactile feedback of a physical keyboard.
Moreover, this particular keyboard got some nice shortcut keys that render the need to ever touch the screen.
I wonder if anyone else have had such possitive experience with the keyboard. Any surprise trick that you discover with the keyboard?
I bought the zagg and love it. I read the logitech had issues with the tablet falling out. I still might get the Samsung one if the price comes down. I'm happy with the zagg though

Personally I prefer a separate one. Love the Logitech K810. But then I have a thing against flipcovers.

i bought and then returned the logitech cover. i wasn't happy with the fit of it, and there was a weird issue that kept me from using some of the screen. (i have a semi-recent thread about it on the accessories forum, if you're interested.) i am now considering getting the samsung cover, so i'm glad to hear that you've had a good experience with it. i have paired an amazon basics keyboard with the notepro in the past, and that worked, though it wasn't a cover (i've got the rediculously expensive belkin bookcover which i like, so i'm not in desperate need of a cover). so i'm waffling between the two. the non-cover keyboard is 19 bucks. the samsung is... considerably more.
i've tried the samsung at best buy and liked the feel of it. i especially like that you can just flip the tablet to portrait and stick it in the slot, though i would probably put a piece of sturdy cardboard behind it if i were using it that way (because i'm paranoid :silly: ).

I saw the Zagg in store, felt cheap, didn't even consider buying it. I did have the Logitech keyboard originally. It's actually a pretty descent keyboard/case. If you're looking for the best protection and don't mind the added bulk/weight, that's really the only one to go with.
I'm currently using the OEM Samsung keyboard case and I like it best for my needs. It obviously offers less protection (only screen and corners) and it's heavier than it looks. Although that does help give it a really solid feel and still a bit lighter than the Logitech. Also keeps the tablet relatively slim and portable. Not to mention, doesn't have any compatibility issues or require "workarounds" to get it to work correctly like the Logitech version does.
Either way, both are solid and well built keyboard cases, just for different purposes. I never had any issues carrying them around or installing/removing the tablet when needed.
GNP12.2 + Logitech = 2 lb 14.8 oz
GNP12.2 + Samsung = 2 lb 9.8 oz

I downloaded the SketchBook Express app from Autodesk. It's a great app for sketching and drawing, highly recommend. I wanted the ability to get more precise so I picked up a stylus from BB for way too much. while I was there I also took a look at the stylus for the Flyer. JEALOUS! That is a slick stylus and you can get such a very fine point that I do not believe is attainable with the Galaxy 10.1. It would be great if we could someday though. Anyone else play around with a stylus? Aside from the drawing aspect, it's a great way to keep finger grease from smearing all over your tab.
I would love a stylus like the flyer has, but those have digitizers in them or something so there's almost no delay
If you can wait a few weeks for the slow shipping, Deal Extreme has several to choose from. The one I got was comparable to a $12 Targus model.
It's not really possible to use a stylus like the one included with the HTC Flyer since the Flyer's screen also has a built-in digitizer.
Can you even draw without an insane amount of lag on the tab? The tab seems too sluggish to draw on, as you have to put your finger on the touchscreen, and drag it about 1 cm until the input is registered.
Comparing the Galaxy Tab with Asus Transformer (with Sketchbook Pro on both), the Galaxy Tab seems almost unusable for this. Perhaps the Touchwiz UX is the culprit?
I picked up a stylus by the the BB house brand, Rocketfish, for an inexpensive stylus for a trip...hoping to take notes with it. Talk about a disappointment. it's okay in place of a finger for navigation around the UI or even for use with Swype, but absolutely worthless for my intended purpose...very slow and inaccurate. I'm not sure how much is the stylus's fault vs the Galaxy Tab, but i'm returning it. Samsung's website has the official one for $20 and if you look around online, you can get a promo code for 15% off...but I don't know if that would be any better.

A good quality stylus helps, but won't give you smooth note-taking. I have tried a couple and definitely a cheap one (like rocketfish) gives you significantly worse results than a higher end one (like boxwave).

That's good to know. Part of the issue, I think, is the extraordinarily wide tip if this stylus. I feel like I can't see exactly where on the screen it's making contact. I'll check out the boxwave one...any thoughts on the official Samsung stylus?

They're still not the same as the digitizer/pen set-up on the likes of the HTC Flyer or the Galaxy Note, both the items you linked to still have a pad of sorts on the end.
They both seem very similar to the oStylus, just dressed up to look a bit more like they have a fine point.
I have a few different stylii, and I mainly use them to keep the fingerprints and smudges off the screen.
For anything more than basic taps and swipes, though, they're pretty useless.
I had pick up one of the Rockfish styluses too. Not what I had hope but about what I expected. Better to be disappointed for $9 than $20+.
I ordered a Jot over the weekend. It will probably be a couple a weeks before it arrives but I will post a review if and when it does.

It's funny you mentioned Jot--I just found this stylus this morning and ordered the Jot Pro. Hopefully it's a fast 4 weeks!

Bought of these at BB also for $8. Didn't expect much, but I do agree that it's horrible for memo/note taking. Great for surfing the web and other task though.
While I'm growing used to the e.stylo, I'm still wishing for something with a fine point. Ordered a Jot Pro; hopefully it's all that and more.

Just wanted to toss my 2 cents in. I just got my Jot a few days ago. Works great. The biggest issue I have with drawing now is the lag between drawing a stroke and having it show up on the screen.
Any tips for fixing this issue?
Just got my Jot Pro. I should have thought this through...I have a Zagg Invisible Shield on my tablet. Anyone who's used one before knows that it has it's own stickiness characteristic. I should have considered it before ordering the stylus. It just doesn't work well at all. The screen has far too much grip with the protector on it. Now i'm faced with 1) returning the stylus (sad face because it works awesome on other devices), 2) removing my Invisible Shield and forfeiting the $30 it costs, or 3) or just hold into the stylus and deal with the problem later.
Like I said though, the Jot Pro does work really well on other devices without the Zagg screen protector. I was very presently surprised when trying it on a Nexus S. The accuracy is fantastic!

was the transformer on 3.2? Just wondering because I saw a video of a person using the stylus on the old Galaxy tab (running gingerbread) and it writes smooth as butter. Just curious
i have the jot pro and the tab is still hopeless at handwriting due to lag. I don't mind if my writing looksawful but there are big gaps in letters where it can't keep up. Frustrating as I have heard and read this doesn't happen on transformer/ipad.

I tried my Jot Pro on a friend's Galaxy Tab last night and can confirm this. Glad I didn't rip my Invisible Shield off. I wonder what causing it...

Yes, it was 3.2. However, having flashed BroodComb, used Titanium Backup to freeze all unnecessary bloatware and applied the V6 supercharger seems to have reduced the lag considerably -- it could be better though. (I don't know why you would compare Gingerbread with Honeycomb though?)
I have tried the touchscreen booster app as well, but it does nothing (or at least, I've noticed no difference).

I don't think that the xoom bluetooth shouldn't have any problems, because it's both Android and bluetooth.
I wouldn't buy apple's keyboard before you can go into a store and ask if you can try it (because it can have a security handshake with other apple hardware)

Xoom keyboard does work and there is a keyboard that Acer makes, just google it .

The mounting solution is rather interesting. It comes with 2 different sizes of rubber pieces that slide over the corners of the tablet, then Velcro to the inside of the folio. With our tablets being a bit on the heavy side, I'm not sure how well or long that would hold.
One thing I like about this one over the USB one mentioned in the OP (aside from it leaving the port open) is that this is a free standing case that looks like it could sit on your lap fairly easy, whereas the other one has that narrow easel stand which requires that it sit on a flat surface.
I'm still torn between them. If I had the cash, I'd just buy them both and return the one I don't like but that's not really an option, so I'll just hope someone else on here has tried this case.
There is an acer A500 specific keyboard. I use it and it works well. It has quick access keys for swapping apps and such straight from the keyboard. Not sure about a folio case though. I just use a laptop sleeve to carry everything and a hipstreet tablet stand to keep the tablet up.
I use a BT keyboard designed for the HP Touchpad and it works great

I bought the Kensington and it is GREAT. It is the only case i use with my Acer now. The keyboard is really nice, no lag and the entire thing is first class.
this is the best android-buttoned keyboard (IMHO) that i have found. probably gonna get it when i have some leftover cash. has anyone here tried it with our tab?

The keyboard in the Kensington FOLIO KEYBOARD CASE is almost exactly the same as that sony one, and you get the full case/cover.
The wireless keyboard in the Kensington folio is just about the best wireless keyboard I have purchased to date, and you get the case with it. Can use with or without the case.
well, i'm not really into the folios, and the kingston doesn't seem to have the android specific keys like the sony....

what do you mean? all of the keys work with Android perfectly??
if you look at the one i linked to, it has dedicated keys for back, home, multitask, menu, and search. the "android buttons".
the picture quality of the kingston wasn't that great but it didn't look like it had the dedicated android keys to me...

the Kensignton one is NOT a cheap overseas one - it is much nicer

Personally, I like using the stock cover set at the "typing" angle and using the SwiftKey tablet keyboard. It eliminates the typing of the 3 and 8 on accident, like pon the stock keyboard.
Otherwise, I would just go for a blue tooth keyboard.

It has a case to protect it when not in use that can be used as a stand for your tablet. I have the Microsoft Wedge Bluetooth keyboard, the cover is a nice hard but oddly flexible rubber like plastic that fills and supports the Note in both landscape and portrait mode. The keyboard is well built with a high quality finish and despite the keys sitting so close to each other that they actually touch it's surprisingly easy to write on. My only complaint is that when the tablet had been turned off for a while the connection is lost and sometimes I've had to reboot to reestablish a connection.

I am testing a MS Surface Pro 3 at the moment. What a great keyboard. I wish Samsung or anyone would create a Keyboard Touchpad combination. There is a lot to like about the Surface but I prefer the Note for Note taking. If it just had a slim keyboard with a trackpad I would never need my MacBook Air...

That would be cool, but the Surface 3 is a very different critter than the Note Pro... I really like the Logitech keyboard (alas, no touchpad ) and it has turned my NP 12.2 into a serious enough productivity tool for me to retire my laptop. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot, it might be enough to not miss the touchpad.

Yes it does but with a keyboard attached it is more fluid to usa a touchpad while you are typing rather than reaching up to touch the screen. If this wasn't the case then we wouldn't see touchpads on 99% of all Windows 8 touch screen laptops/tablets as they would just skip the touchpad to make the keyboard a little more roomy.
Yeah, a good keyboard dock would do wonders for the productivity side of things. The Logitech one is probably the best, but it's still limited. Only one angle, bulky, adds noticable weight, etc. I liked the SP3 way better in that regards. I suppose you get what you pay for.
But if you stick with usual tablet functions (i.e. media consumption) and don't try to do any serious or heavy productivity tasks, the GNP 12 isn't bad at all.

I find it much more efficient to keep my hands in one spot. The SGN 12.2 with Hankok Office is very close to make this a true office device.
I was considering getting a keyboard case when i ordered the Note Pro, but then it arrived and i used it... the full size on screen keyboard in landscape mode works just as well as a physical keyboard..... im glad i didnt blow another $100 on a keyboard case
I know what you mean. I like the keyboard on the surface pro. Though I like the logitech keyboard for galaxy note. However I started to notice something. Never am out and about and think to my self I really need todo some serious typing where I need the keyboard. Every time I have come across a need for a keyboard I have been at a desk where I can setup keyboard/ mouse etc.
My point here is I have never felt the need to have a key board with me, if im out and need to jot something down, I write with the spen, or use the handwrite to text. Not once has that failed me. I quite enjoy it.
So at home if im writting a paper for class or work. I use my old mac bluetooth magic mouse and keyboard. Works like a charm. :good:
Coming from an Asus Transformer, I do occasionally miss my solid adjustable keyboard dock with touchpad, full-usb and SD slot. (see why I'm not impressed with the one on the Surface?)
Bought myself a Logitech K810 keyboard, M705 mouse (over USB OTG) and a Belkin Flipblade Adjust. More stuff, but more flexibility. What's one more thing in a 15" bag?
You can use USB OTG with the Logitech Nano receivers, by the way. There are a few Logitech semi-full keyboards with touchpad that work over Nano Recievers.
