I have been rooting phones / jail breaking phones for the last 15 years, not bricked any phone yet. Please do not say that rooting is the cause for any bricks or leads to a brick subsequently. if you read instructions very carefully, understand every thing and follow instructions to the T then rooting is very safe. it is only when you do something with half baked knowledge that you end up with a brick.
the biggest culprit for bricking the Grand 2 is not reading the forums and trying to downgrade the software versions. How many posts do we have warning against reverting to lower versions? yet more and more people land up with a brick as they try to downgrade.
I understand that you are against rooting. you can warn others against rooting, but please do not say that rooting will guarantee a brick somehow.

schubeir

Well if u have seen my reply .. i have said that if u root ...u will somehow brick it ! i didnt mean that the process of rooting will brick the phone but i was talking abt the situation after rooting ... where the user has access to system files and tweaks and mods and tweaking apps which will lead to bootloop in most of the cases ... which i myself have faced it for atleast 60 times in my old 2.3 phones
---------- Post added at 02:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:29 PM ----------
and seriously bro i dont see any need for rooting Grand 2 ... it has everything that is needed ! We used to root old phones in order to increase ram using Swap Partitons or to increase internal memory using amarullz script or the ext method but here we dont need that ! so it doesnt really make any sense to simple loose ur warranty and spoil ur phone

Rooting is a personal choice. maybe u dont see the need to root, but some ppl need to root. i do, so that i get rid of all bloatware and the phone is way more responsive than with the bloatwares on. rooting, in no way spoils a phone.
We would not have so may forums for so many phones if there was no need for rooting or ROMs.
schubeir

There is lot of benefits of rooting device the main is You Can Get Acess to System Files and what u need more then this?? .Install what u need .do want you want,.
yo can install app ,games in extsd (need method to do it)
install apk file of other devices
change system. and lots more.
But use ur mind before doing it and proper guide and knowledge

Galaxy sIV ROOT

Hello ,
I used a Samsung Galaxy NOTE previously .
Rooting it and tinkering it was a piece of cake. I had almost done everything thanks to amazing developers and this site.
But after buying S4 , I felt like a NOOB all over again.
( don't ask me to read , i understand English and i have RE READ the forums )
I can totally understand that it is a new device , well protected too so tinkering with it is taking time. But I am reading so many posts saying their root has been successful & without fail .
I am using
baseband : dduamdk
build : jdq39.i9500 xxuamdk
I tried rooting it through COFFACE method ( the chinese one ) but , probably i will blow away my phone if i do it a couple more times.
What should I do? Please , Advice. I have read. re read to no help . PLEASE
CALL CHAINFIRE BACK FROM HOLIDAYS PLEASE @Chainfire please
SOMEONE HELP . I CAN'T STAND UNROOTED PHONES
For god's sake please post questions in q & a section!

sprint galaxy s4 kitkat root without tripping Knox

Hello...
Ok, so when I got my phone after doing my homework I used the saferoot to root it (mk2). A day later I got the push for the kitkat update... I followed the instructions for prepping to accept the update, (remove busy box put su into ota survival) it failed. So I used Oden to re flash the stock mk2 then ran the update...
And SURPRISE safe root won't work. So my question is...
1. Is there a way I can root the new kitkat WITHOUT tripping Knox?
And if not...
2 is it possible to downgrade back to MK2..again without tripping Knox
1You cant do this without tripping knox
2you cant downgrade from 4.4.2

[Q] A few questions for SM-G710 (not dual sim i guess)

Hi, I live in Turkey and I bought this phone 6 days ago.The problem is;
1-) Can't root the phone (They told me i can't root the sm-g710 because it's for sm-g7102 in development section)
My questions are;
1-) In a picture, we see the phones that are going to get KitKat update and grand 2 is seen in the picture as SM-G7102.So does it mean SM-G710 is not going to get KitKat update?
2-) If it is, and if i can't root and update the phone should i give it back before it's too late? (I mean tomorrow, you know 7th day, returning it without question, last day)
And P.S : I don't mind KitKat update but i really have to root the phone for a few reasons. The most important reason for me is to remove that screen lock delay.First but not the last.
Help?
OH MY GOD !!!
CF-ROOT for 7102 WORKED FOR SM-G710.OOOO YEAH !!!
So this probably means GenNxt will work on SM-G710 too.Should i install it or try to modifiy like it without risking the phone?

should i root my note 4 ?

hello all ,,,
i really wanna ask you for the best advise
should i root my note 4 ?
what would i lose if i did ?
what are the best things i gain ?
does it make the devise slower ?
or does it mess up with the battery ?
and thank you very much
After reading your questions, the answer for you is NO.
Rooting is great and opens up a eorkd of oppertunities and can make ur software much smoother. But in YOUR case, dont do it cuz it dont seem like u will benefit from it
Yeah, the benefits are endless and has few if any downsides. One of these few things could be warranty issues, but that's mostly theoretical I think depending on which brand.
My only consern towards you is that it seems you actually do not know what rooting actally is at all, due to your line of questioning.
Rooting does not do anything more to your phone than providing plain admin access like you got with a pc. Nothing else whatsoever, besides getting you cut off from installing/using many usefull apps which only accepts non root/jailbraked phones due to security/copyright issues.
The upside of rooting and the admin access/control is that it opens up for installing apps which can tune your phone and it's framework to better performance and endless ways of customizations.
Before you even think of getting in to this, READ UP on the matter. It seems like you think rooting in itself is some kind of magic wondercure that makes your phone into a superdevice. And if you have to ask this questions at all, better keep off untill some learning is done. If you do these proceedures wrong, your phone easily dies.

thank you guys ,
but what i meant there is some feature that could be lost , like ( deeb sleep ) witch save the battery life while the phone is on stand by
and the knox serves
and thank you guys , i have a good back ground about how i can do it , but i should have to ask like a noob to get an answer ^_^
By rooting, You'll trip the "knox counter" in the bootloader to read 0x1 (=customized). The permanent result of this is that the Knox partition will not function ever again. This is because Samsung can/will not guarantee the knox security system anymore beeing intact on a customized phone and the phone shuts the knox down automaticly when Knox counter is triped.
Besides that, rooting does nothing to the system other than provide administrator priveligies.
can u please let me see your battery life pattern ?
dunno if i am going to lose ( deep sleep ) or not

Uwill be lose just knox, why you tolking about battery?when u root u have more control so dont worry for battery life...If u install more apps it will be bad....And if u just root, why u will be lose 'deep sleep' or whatever...Even will be get better battery life if flash custom kernel

There is no 'best' it is down to personal preference and how your device behaves. You need to try a variety of them until you find one you like.
that is why i said please recommend me one , maybe i don't have time to test them all :$
mine is N910C
Once you root... You never go back
Unlock the full potential of your device.

Guys, do you think we will be able to root WITHOUT tripping Knox??
I stopped rooting my phones. Not sure if the people who root fully realize what rooting does to they phones.
There is a reason why banking apps and many others do not work on a rooted phones..
Any app with su access can read/write the private data (and in memory) of any other app. It is ridiculous..
You basically relay on supersu (or similar) to protect you. Can you trust it 100%? What if it crash?

With every new post by you, it becomes more and more apparent you SHOULD NOT ROOT. You have ZERO idea what it is or what your doing.

Certainly to yours.. No arguments, only foolish remarks. So typical..
I wrote "I stopped rooting my phones" so no point you telling me "Don't do it!".
I am not against rooting, but if you have any sensitive data in your phone (or use banking aps etc.), at least think twice and do some research.

Only method available at the moment is temp root via King Root. And it must be reactivated upon each device reboot.

How do you use that?
I tried King root and it said it cannot root the phone. I have Feb 21 build of the 5.1.1 rom.
I think, Galaxy J3 serie is not capable for root. No cfautoroot database is not available for this device. But root may be possible on Galaxy J5 and J7.

Hi i am a user of samsung J3- SMJ320F(Bangladesh). Few days ago i had tried to root my phone using odin. I eanbled TWRP. FLASHED SUPER SU. After flashing my phone gone into bootloop. And sadness is I couldn't find any Firmware on any website for free for my device. so, i had to repair my device in a random shop; And they flashed SAUDI ARABIA FIRMWARE On my phone. And it cost me almost 3$ ....so, If there's any solution please let me know because i cant use my phone without root. and these bloatwares are really irritating. so anyone?
Rooted SM-J327P J3(2016) Boost Mobile 6.0.1 Marshmallow
What it do folks. First of all, THANK YOU and I apologize. I dabble a bit more with my devices now and Ive had a lot more success then previous years and that would be due to the hard work you "techies" have dedicated and shared. So thank you for all the grueling and frustrating progress put in. I feel like I'm there with guys. As for my apology, I'm lost on singling out individuals that should recieve their just do. My bad. This is my first ever reply sort of like finally getting my feet on the steps in a refreshing icy summertime lake that holds now bounds. No brakes cause my foot is stuck on the gas.
I've rooted a few devices with KingRoot, KingoRoot PC edition was a success, and now the flag-ware Odin3(any version) takes the crown along with TWRP got my J327P 2016 from BST voided due to the cracks root has invaded with passion.
I thrive from any and all feedback and refuse to accept thats not possible or it cannot be done phrase; all I hear is "challenge accepted!" Please let me know if I'm not in the correct area for ranting but again thank you for all the knowledge and by all means charge on the great work!:good:
