Yes i think the problem is the flash (ROM) chip. It is on motherboard so yes you must replace "insides". And i am sorry for your phone.:crying:

Have you tried to uninstall the drivers for the phone? And if your computer is Asus, do you have an app called Asus usb charger or something like that?
I had a problem with an Iphone which was not recognized by Itunes. And the device manager was going crazy, bcs the computer kept switching off the connection with the phone. It turned out there was an Asus app, called Asus usb charger or something like that, which was causing the problem.
So, check everything on your PC and find out why the connection keep getting switched off, format your memory card with SD formatter and after that try to flash it with Windows 6.5.
Best of luck!

HTC touch chinese clone

HI all.Already five days I got home the phone with China's navy much I enjoyed it, but I just had a great sense of helplessness. From the first day I have with this phone problem: after about five minutes of operation to stop responding touch screen or soft reset helping jse since I do not even hard reboot (press and hold volume up button + camera and then use the stylus to do reset). So I excluded the battery for about 5 minutes after that time I re-inserted the battery into the device and turned on him when everything started to work so I found an item MASTER RESET and then I made it proceeded normally, but up to the display settings when I finally managed to set the display (approximately on 10 attempts!) and again the phone worked well. then I try to delete the original touch Flo, but unfortunately it did not too. when the device is put in stand by mode and turn on the device after the display was not functioning again. Then I thought to try different combinations of key presses to obtain a hard reboot. Finally, I managed to find kobinaci functional buttons: I dragged the button at the same time receiving a call (GREN), and click the camera and I have soft reset then whole screen changed color to blue and make the hard reboot, unfortunately, I stopped at the display because the touch screen does not respond anything! Did not even remove the battery! Please ask for help, please
Do you use MIO 350 with this device but I never had the slightest problem and to use non-original rom

I apologize for my English using Google translator
i think the clone rom is corrupted
infact i really dont think clone model will even let you update the rom too
it could also be cause of damaged Hardware
Yes it seems you're right. It looks at the failure of hardware
thx.
hello there. for you and anyone else with china htc problem this is the solution for it.
go to this page and download the IMG file called "update.img" from this link
then follow this steps.
1. Format your HTC memory card (Micro SD card), so it will be clean.
2. Move the update.img (you already downloaded from the site) to root directory of your Memory card.
3. Press Volume Up button on your htc and while keeping it pressed , press the reset button.
You should get the blue screen telling the update being downloaded. Wait for a while and it will tell that Update is successfull and your phone will be rebooted.
THis is it.

This I have already tried, but without success. The combination of pressing volume up and press the soft reset using stylus on my device does not work!
I only managed to make hard reset but it was an interesting combination of a call button (green) and the camera button and then using the stylus, I made hard reset the whole screen changed color to blue . On my device, which was served on the operating system was installed WM 6.1

If you are using Windows vista or windows 7, you need to have Windows mobile device centre from the Microsoft website installed.
Yes, I have the activeSync installed in my pc, but it doesn't recognizing my phone. I'm using Windows XP. Any suggestion to solve my problem?

How would I know from that picture? They copied the entire bloody device and installed WM6.1 on it, they didn't call it HTC on the front to avoid getting their arses sued or customs stopping their product, I can bet you the internals are not in any way related to HTC, what is the sense coming here with inane questions?? You already know you don't have the genuine HTC product, you knew it the minute you bought it, you still want to ask members of this forum if you have the real deal?

Bricked HD2 help

help!
I have an TMOUS Hd2 that got bricked by a bad flash.
I can't access the boot loader or anything. LED light does not show when i plug it in a charger. When I plug it in my comp, it says QUALCOMM CDMA has been detected but cannot install drivers.
I have tried J-Tagging it at a local store but they say they can't get a connection.
what else can I do?
Is it permanently dead?
Hmmm sounds like the place you carried it to either did not use the right JTAG on it or did not know what they where doing. I know a member here that can do the JTAG but the you would have to send your phone to the US for him to work on it. If you might be interested I can PM you with more details, just let me know.
They "can't get a connection"? Did they take it apart?
Yes its dead but lots of people have used jtag to fix it.
"Can't get a connection" is an odd way to phrase it, is why I ask, sounds more like they think they can get to it thru the USB port or something,,
from what they said, they took it apart and tried jtagging it.
they said the jtag connection won't recognize the chipset... |:
i gave them a call and they said they used the RIFF Jtag.
anyway, @T-Macgnolia, please PM me with the information
I would LOVE to have this phone up and running again

Sounds like they did not use a JTAG fore the T-Mobile HTC HD2 as it is one for the TMOUS and one foe the international HD2. or they did not have the correct software for the HD2. I tend to think it was the first reason.
I got your PM froibet and sent one back to you with the info you wanted. best of luck man.

vancouver. It's very difficult to find a JTAG store in my area.
The repair shop said that they will give it one more go tonight and if everything fails, then they will just give it back to me no fees.
There are other repair stores here but from what I asked them, it seems like they do flashing only and not JTAG--they say that they do not disassemble the phone and just connect through usb, which I don't think will work.
Is there something I can tell the repair store that's JTAGing my HD2 right now? Such as using the TMOUS version instead of international?

If they are doing it via USB they will not get it to work no matter what they use.
Download the stock rom for your location, expand it, and rename the nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh, copy it to the root folder of SD card, put the SD card into HD2. Then, hold the vol-down and press power on. You will see a screen for flash original ROM.

Can anyone shed any light on internal NAND failure?

Basically it means your NAND chip is screwed, and it is time for a new main board cause you can not replace the NAND chip by itself. The NAND is where your OS resides and other things to. Go to the link belowvto learn more about what a NAND chip iscand does.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_memory
so not being able to establish a connection with the JTAG is pretty much a dead NAND?
it doesn't recognize the device as a qualcomm cdma anymore when plugged into my pc =_=

Yeah if it is not recognizing it as qualcomm cdma anymore and they can not establish a connnection with the JTAG connected to the main board then you bread another main board as it sounds like not only your NAND chip iscahot but your processeor too.
what great luck. better give those guys at the store a call cuz before i gave the phone to them, it was recognizing the phone as a qualcomm and not anymore ughh

Your HD2 is possessed ha ha....
No seriously though I have no idea what is wrong with your phone bit it is exhibiting odd behaviour. Maybe the repair shop did fix it with JTAG and just didn't think they did, if so you got out of having to pay them for it.
Or maybe it was not bricked in the first place and you just was not holding the volume down button down long enough or all the way down, who knows. But atleast it booted up that is a major plus. Keep us informed of any further updates man.
I bet you a thousand dollars it was as simple as the battery pins weren't completely touching the battery so it "didn't boot no matter what" then when you reinserted the battery it caught the pins and booted, lol.

HD2 Problems with USB, not being recognized, can't enter bootloader

Hello everybody! It's samanen here, a newbie on xda. NOOOB
For first I'd like to apologize my not-so-good english, I'm 15 and from Finland so please keep the point in the problems and forget my english difficulties
Ok, splutting off and let's move to the point here
So I bought my HD2 (used) about two weeks ago, and right away tried to put WP7/android on it and sync music, contacts, videos and other stuff - but my USB connection didn't, and still doesn't work.
Ofcourse I tried reconnecting, cleaning the usb cable and port on the phone, tried another PCs and total of 10 different USB ports, another cable, Mac OS, Win7, WinXP, SyncMate, WMDC, ActiveSync, removing the battery, resetting the phone, removing SD-Card and SIM-Card, ActiveSync, Hard Disk and Faster data sync options, etc etc with no positive result. Its no fun having a mobile device with no access to put media and other stuff on it :/
Specs and facts:
HTC HD2 (aka Leo), non-T-Mobile (EU version?)
Software info:
Os Version : 5.2.21913 (21913.5.0.94)
Manila version : 2.5.20181527.0
ROM version : 3.14.405.2 (04666) WWE
ROM date : 09/29/10
Radio version : 2.15.50.14
Protocol version : 15.42.50.11U
Hardware info:
CPU : QUALCOMM(R) 8250B
Speed : 1024 Mhz
RAM size : 448MB
Flash memory size : 512MB
Enough numbers?
I think I have tried all the stuff I found here... Still no result, can't be detected on my PC. When I connect my phone to my PC, a notification pops up saying that USB device couldn't be detected/recognized, and it may be damaged. 1 second after it popped up it disappears and if I check the devices connected to the pc, there's no undetected devices anymore.. If I'm quick enough to click on the notification, it shows me what devices are connected and their situations, and I can see an undetected USB device there, but if I refresh (reopen) the window it disappears..
Also, if I use the option "When phone is on, do not charge the battery when connected to a PC." and connect to a PC via USB, it STILL does charge the battery. So my hypothesis is that the phone believes it's on a charger/car kit because its not getting recognized as a USB hard disk/device on my PC and still charges as it's connected to PC. Could this be possible in any way?
Also, when I got the phone and put it on the charger, CoPilot popped up every second (I closed it, it opened, etc) and I had to uncheck some option "When connected to a car kit open CoPilot automatically", so another thing there which refers to my phone being a psycho and believing its being on a charger.
I know there are people with this problem, and topics on this forum, but I think my problem is a bit different from theirs and nobody has really got an answer for this..
Then to my second problem. I can't enter Bootloader mode, or Hard Reset mode.
When I hold down the volDown button and press the bootup button, my phone either normally boots up or doesn't even boot up or show signs of booting into bootloader.
Once I got into the bootloader after dozens of tries, but as I'm stupid, I didn't write down the numbers shown there.. And now I seem not to be able to enter bootloader even after 20 tries.. Hardreset neither works. Same plan - either normally boots up or doesn't do anything. Weirdo much? Can anyone help? :/ I think I've bought an useless device..
Thanks,
samanen
Hi man! Try to flash your phone from SD card with stock ROM. Hope you will get good result! Let me know what happens!
Maybe it is your usb cable. I also can not sync with the cable that was delivered with the official carkit. It is just possible to load the device with that cable.
Your bootloader problem could be caused by broken volume buttons. I think they often get destroyed when replacing a broken touch screen. Do they work without problems inside the os?

I'm such a noob with these roms etc so I'd appreciate much if you/somebody could tell me what to use I will try that as soon as I find my microSD->SD adapter (Im afraid it got into vacuum cleaner as I cleaned my room ), also I have no idea how that's done but I believe there's a tutorial on xda.

I have tried 2 different cables, one from the package the previous owner provided me and another one from my dad's N97 mini. Could I be so unlucky that those cables are ones that don't work with HD2? I hope I am If you think its about the cable, what cable would you suggest me to get? Just a basic microusb cable from the electonic store? Also the previous owner told me he wiped out all the data and synced the phone before sending it to me WITH the cable provided, so.. Idk Strange.
No, my volume buttons are working great inside the os, I can adjust vol down and up well without any problems. Also my volbuttons are not sticky or feel like broken so I just don't believe that theyre damaged. Also the screen has never got damaged or repaired.
Another problem - Isn't it required to enter bootloader mode when updating the rom? :/
Thanks for both of you for your replies and suggestions, I will keep you updated if anything helps or gets clarified!
-samanen
Sorry then i can not help you. I do not think it is the cable. I bought one on amazon. It is official htc charging and syncing cable. This just came to my mind because you said that your copilot starts if you plug your phone in....
If you want to install another winmo rom you can do it when connected via active sync and it will automatically go to bootloader. If you want to install hspl for custom roms or android you have to go to bootloader for the installation.

Still no reply, wow. Today I got a message that my phone will be back in two weeks. Slow service.
They also told me, that as the usb is LOOSE when you plug the cable in, it may be my fault. wow. So they're not repairing it for free i quess..
My phone is back..
Ok, got my phone back. The mohterboard has been damaged, they told me it had got wet. That's something what's not under warranty, so they're not repairing it for free. The repair would cost almost 500€ so it's totally not worth it. The report says: USB-Connectiong is loose (from other components), also injury with water in screen and motherboard.
Seems that the last owner already knew it's damaged and sold me a damaged one, as he told me it's working 100%.
So, I don't have a clue what to do next. I think I should try repairing it myself but is it worth it? Or worth trying? Where can i get the parts and tutorials how to do this? I think i gotta only repair the usb thingy but i'm not sure - I'd love to get some help now. Thanks in advance.

I had the exact same problem and it seemed that my cable was loose. You can try repairing it by yourself (it's not under warranty) or trying different pc/cable.
Try this : go to your pc and remove USB driver from application control panel, and after reconnect hd2.
Probably us not a cable problem, but drivers problems.
Bye.

Run HTC Ones S without Display? Please help

Hey guys,
i have an old HTC One S here at home with a broken screen (completely broken and black). I've already removed the screen to replace it some day because i dont really need the phone.
But i was thinking maybe to use it as a little "Raspberry Pi" or whatever. Only problem is, i dont see anything :
The phone itself is fine so its possible to turn it on as far as i know. Still vibrates and the softkey leds and the one on the top are working too when i charge it or try to turn it on.
So my question now is if there is a possibility to use my pc as an external display via USB?
I am not a crack in Android, the phone even wasnt mine (from my sister) so i dont think its rooted or anything.
Does someone have an idea and can help me with that little project?
Thanks

Its 100 €
But thanks anyway.

Dead i9505

Guys, Need your help. You are my last hope !
Just bought an i9505 to a guy, via internet... I know it's risky... The guy was saying the phone got stuck after he had a power cut (his PC shut down) during a Kies update., but that the phone was able to go to download mode.
So I thought it would be easy to flash.
The bad surprise was when I received the phone : nothing happens, no sign of life. No sign when pluging the charger, no sign when trying to boot whatever mode I select, no vibration, no sound, no nothing... I even tried a Jig USB dongle that I had purchased a few years ago for my i9000 : nothing.
I contacted the seller who pretends I broke it as he checked again the download mode before sending me the phone.
I tend to believe he is saying the truth as he could simply have not responded.
Is there any experiment I should do ? I read that getting the battery off and pressing Power for 30 sec might help... Did not work either...
Any other ideas ???
Thanks
Edit: oops sorry, this thread should have been created in the "Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting" section... Moderator... could you please move it there ? Sorry...

Plug it in to the wall charger for a while and see if any thing happens, I've had a battery dead flat before and it took a couple of minutes before it started charging.

Thanks ph0n3n3rd. Trying right now, but not real hope as I have another S4 with a fully charged battery which I already tried with no success.
I also have tried charging the original battery for hours today both from my laptop and from and external battery (branded Anker) which usually charges even faster than the wall charger...
Also one of the first things I tried when I received the phone without being able to boot it was to try the other way : the new phone's battery in the old S4. And it booted. The new phone's battery was about 40%...

Yep... I read a RIFF box could help... Do you know what it is ?
BTW, the wall charger did not help (i got it plugged for about 10 minutes).
type in google some like "repair boot i9505 via sd card"
If the pc can recognize the phone then this might be useful.

Hi GDReaper, thanks for the link. I had actually seen it yesterday. I have installed (this was not easy as I was getting an error when try to install the .inf files) the QHUSB drivers... in the hope that this would help the PC not only recognize, but detect (!) the phone. Indeed the phone is not even detected by windows : no sound, no "drivver installation message", nothing that I can see in the Device Manager. And the phone too does not show any sign of connection to the PC...
THe guy who sold me this phone keeps telling me he could go to download mode just before sending it to me. He is even getting pissed off and pretends i'm a liar...

Unless it somehow got damaged during transport, then he is the one who is most probably lying.
You will have to take it in for service if you can't get a refund. I doubt it can be fixed without any specialized equipment.

Hi bes1de, thanks. I can only find this one : http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f777/hot-hot-easy-repair-boot-samsung-s4-i9500-via-sd-card-1693343/ for now but this is for i9500.
BTW... I realize the phone does not seem to be an i9505 but an i9515 ! I got confused because of this : View attachment 3654348
As you can see, the sticker shows i9515 but the "housing" is i9505...
The SIM card reader also shows i9505 : View attachment 3654337
And... the charge flex cable shows i9500 (yet another S4 model !) : View attachment 3654338
Do you think Samsung uses parts from different phones like that ? Or that the seller kind of rebuilt a "phone" from various parts found here and there ?
I'd like to be able to test the parts of this dead phone to see if I can sell it as parts.
I was thinking to tear down my own personal S4 (i9505 perfectly working) and use its motherboard to test the dead phone's screen.
I read that the LCD is different...
Do you think I might break my i9505 motherboard trying to connect it to the i9515 display ?...
Edit: OK I did it ! Installed my personal S4 motherboard into the dead one in order to check the display, the buttons (incl. touch ones) and the USB/charge port : all is fine. The PC detects ad recognizes it, so the USB connector and its flex cable are fine.
I could now swap the cameras, the proximity sensor, the SIM and SDcard readers and see if they are OK...
Edit 2: Loud speaker works fine too.
Thanks and regards !

Yep, I fear you are right... thanks
Edit: Anyone used the SBoot clip here ?
As far as I understand it only works with Exynos phones, so not for my i9515. Any information about that ?
Thanks
