Hi all,
I use Nova launcher on Ozcan Rom v4.0 on my i9500. I adore full transparent notification bar as I could achieve before Kitkat. I tried so far;
1- Nova launcher settings/Look and feel/transparent notification bar. That only result Kitkat style graded transparency.
2- Installed "Wanam Xposed" module, tried almost everything underneath numerous options but couldn't find the dedicated setting there.
3- Installed "Translucent style" module. It just gets semi transparent.
Any suggestions?

How do you achive that exactly?
It says sth about "busybox" when I apply the changes to translucent style, I even found and installed one busybox thing without a clue what it might work for. I remember it worked but when i shut the sview cover and open again it got back to semi transparent state.

As the titles says I need a way to have my navigation bar and status bar transparent on my home screen (nova launcher) and on the lockscreen. G2 Xposed transparent bars doesn't work on cyanogen. I also tried Tinted status bar and UDN light to no avail. Does anyone have a good app or zip I can flash that will do this for me?
Thanks.
I was able to get transparent nav bar and status bar on my Verizon G2 w/ CM 10.2 using Gravity Box Xposed module (Google it), while using Nova. Weirdly though, the nav bar transparency stopped working after a few days but status bar still works. I tried literally everything but no luck getting it to work again on nav bar. I think between CM and other Xposed apps i have, there are just some incompatibilities.
Also, I would suggest only turning it on for home screen, not lock screen because it looks weird on lock. And when you try the nav bar setting, put the transparency at only 50%. For status bar, you can do 100% though. Give it a try.

As just4747 said, GravityBox is probably your best bet, though i will say it is far from flawless. If you have your status bar set to 100% transparency, and your Nova Launcher drawer set to anything in between completely opaque and 100% transparent, the status bar will still be completely transparent. Though it does work with the Nexus 5/Kitkat/Experience launcher. And for me, making the nav bar transparent, I am only able to see my wallpaper going through half of the nav bar. But again, GravityBox is one of the best out there, so go for it! :fingers-crossed:
EDIT: Sooo, just after posting this, I updated my GravityBox (The other install was only a few days old), and guess what, the issues were fixed. Now it works perfectly with Nova Launcher. I'm currently using it, and I'm enjoying it, a lot! Though i will recommend buying GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys, you know, to get more screen space, and avoid the annoying transparency glitches that occur occasionally.
cyanogen mod 10.2( i have the same problem)
i m using xposed framework. the transparent status bar works fine on the lockscreen but dosent on the homescreen
i m on cyanogenmod 10.2(4.3.1) samsung s3 i9300
I did a little research and wanted to know if I really have the right info regarding wallpapers and the notification bar.
Please: no need to tell me to root or to use an alternative launcher. I am well-versed in both, but I remain interested in staying stock and using the default laucher.
So, is it the case that:
- The only way to have a transparent notification bar (it looks great) is to use the stock, LG-supplied wallpaper?
- There is no way to add to the stock wallpaper collection?
Thanks in advance.
I have the exact same question as OP
I currently use Xposed and Gravitybox for transparent action bar (nav. bar) and status bar, but only for home screen mode. In lockscreen the bars show wallpaper of homescreen not set lockscreen wallpaper

Thanks ZenWan - but Xposed is only for rooted devices, right?
Although I have plenty of experience with rooting and custom ROMs on previous phones, I really want to keep my G2 completely stock.
Aye, I believe it only works with rooted devices. But fair enough, understand your reason ^_^

There's ZOR over at the Theme's section who makes his own themes. Chose's his own wallpapers and icons and all and still has transparent as stock. I saw in one of a couple pages that he posted a link on to how he made them. that could be another way to achieve that. I myself wanted to keep but my impatience made me root; xposed and now i have that and way more options. are you afraid to void your warranty?

I've got gravitybox running fine but it doesn't change the AT&T on the status bar and doesn't change the color of the icons on the pull down notification drawer. Wanam exposed is installed and it won't change the notification icons either, even though I changed the colors. I've rebooted a half dozen times. Anyone know what gives?

Did you make sure to hit the on sliders in wanam on each color picker, and you have the latest xposed framework and you made sure to accept root prompts on both?

Yes, yes and yes. That's what's frustrating. It should work, it just doesn't.

When it ran correctly, it changed all my status bar text/battery/time/etc to the color of my choosing. It also changed the notification panel icon colors (like the icons for wi-fi/blutooth/etc) and panel background text in the drop down notification menu.
It doesn't work AT ALL anymore. I have no clue why. I got GravityBox going which has correctly changed the colors of the clock, battery, wifi and signal icons in my status bar, but does not color the network I am on or any other icons.
It's really vexing that before my phone could be perfectly customized and after my big mistake I lost that function inexplicably.

wanam xposed and the wanam module for xposed are different. I used the wanam xposed installer via the play store on my i377m running mk6 (4.3) and wanam works perfectly. It is seperate icon from my xposed framework. I can change anything I'd like, and successfully fake official for ota updates.
Gravitybox, also works. However using both, can cause problems I find. Also, ALWAYS make sure to turn off options in these guys before removing. With Gravitybox, do not enable pie controls on a touchwiz rom if you're on an S4. I did, and was barely able to login and disable.

Replying in year old threads generally isn't a good idea.
Wanam xposed is for Touchwiz ROMs only. For something similar on AOSP, you need Gravitybox.
Ok thank you,
P.S.
I will not reply again as you wish.
I'll give Gravity box a try. Thanks.
i finally found how to remove the annoying top black gradient from nova launcher. TW does not have it but if people prefer using nova launcher like i do, the black gradient becomes annoying in light home screen background.
NEEDS ROOT.
Below is how black gradient looks.
HOW TO REMOVE IT
1) XPOSED FRAMEWORK
2) DOWNLOAD "Tinted Translucent Status Bar"
3)After installation look for app "Translucen Style"
4)Where it says "Status Bar" select "FULL TRANSPARENT"
5)XPOSED will ask you to reboot , do so.
There you have it, full transparent without the annoying black gradient.
Or remove status bar. I think it makes it more simplistic

Yeah i used this option in nova launcher but is a pain having to hide the status bar to avoid this problem. i like having my status bar at all time without the need to hide it.
Not working for me. The same annoying black gradient. I followed the directions to a tee.

did you press "RESTART SYSTEM UI TO APPLY CHANGES" after selecting "full transparent"
THEN AFTER
DID YOU RECEIVED THE XPOSED FRAMEWORK PERMISSION AND REBOOT?

Yes I restarted system ui to apply the changes. I already had xposed installed, so didn't permission.
Don't understand... So we need the Tinted Translucent StatusBar Module? But we are going to use Translucent Style module right? We have to do something with Tinted Translucent StatusBar module too?
Tried with Translucent Style and it doesn't do anything after restarting... Instructions are not clear I think... So we need both modules or only one... Instructions mentioned 2 modules but only provided instructions for only one module.
The option in Nova doesn't work for you?
When u installed "tinted translucent statusbar" what it does is that it actually install an app name "translucent style". U make the changes from there. So is only 1 module

Works for me as well!
The following method worked for me:
Make sure the "Transparent Notification Bar" checkbox is checked in Nova Launcher (under Look and feel)
Install the "Translucent Style" mod in Xposed Installer(I installed beta version 2.3)
Activate module and Soft Reboot through Xposed Installer
In Translucent Style app, set Status Bar to Fully transparent and (here was the key for me) check the Try replacing the variable box.

I'm using the stock 4.4.2 TW ROM with the Google Now launcher. Other than using another launcher (which I don't want to do as I want the Google cards on the left most screen that comes with the Google Now launcher), how can I replace the standard Samsung TW very ugly phone dialer icon?
I've tried WizIconizer with an icon pack that is supposed to replace the OEM icons, but it doesn't work. Is there any other way to replace the standard TW icons for the phone dialer and camera?

I remember an app called icon visualiser or android visualiser which creates shortcuts with different icons.
Install Xposed framework. Then module Unicon. And of course you need to have some icon pack installed, like Stark or Click etc.

unicon changes all icons he just wants to have it on phone app.
Thanks guys, I've tried all the above suggestions and I can't seem to get any one of them to do something so simple...........................
@CayenneGTS
Icon changer free available on play store can do that for you.. but an icon will change just as the shortcut.
