[Q] Can IMG Files be edited?

Hi All, i have a HD2 Leo, with Android installed on a memory card. this has been working fine, but i have recently, re-configured my exchange email account and the calendar no longer syncs, but does on other handsets, so i think i need to edit the "USERDATA.IMG" File that is on the Android files.
Does anyone know how to edit this file?
if you have any file manager that can access root, the userdata.img contents are the ones arouns the system folder. So when you're viewing root contents, the System folder is your system.img and almost everything else is the contents of the Userdata.img
but you'll have to look for a long time to find the settings you want. My advice is to back up everything and start over with a new userdata.img

You need the unpackbootimg binary, which will extract it; then you can use mkbootimg binary to make it into an img file
I have this compiled already in http://cyanogenmod.arif-ali.co.uk/tools

Help trying to remove TWRP backups (Android 4.4.2)

Well, I'm quite tired and I still can not find a solution to this ... the problem is I can not delete any folder in the folder TWRP backups :/ here the strange thing is that you can not change anything inside this folder or create files ... and I tried several file browsers and nothing so far the only solution was to remove them from the same TWRP recovery and it´s the only way to delete this files...
but my question is: Anyone have any idea why it happens? I'm the only one who does this happen? i use the 2.7 twrp recovery, an 4.4.2 stock...
sorry for my bad english
The problem is the stock kernel, i change the kernel to Civato, an now i can delete and modify this folder :good:

How do I completely change the icons in the Samsung Galaxy young GT-S5360

Dear brothers :
I installed a custom ROM for my phone samsung Galaxy young GT-S5360
Dedicated Roman Information :
ROM Name:
Hyperion - Titan of the East
Build number:
Hyperion.DXLF2
I did not like the icons
How do I change the entire Icons
You experience a number of applications such as :
ICON CHANGER PRO
Did not do any good
Mentioned application does change the icons and put a shortcut on the desktop
I do not want this
I want to change application icons on the home screen
How so .?
Decompile the application you want to change the icon of with apk tool
You can see what the icon name is in the Android manifest
The icon itself will be located in res/drawable-ldpi
An easier way might be to download an icon pack (search the theme section)
Then open the Flashable zip & find the app name you are looking for - open that folder & put the image you want in there replacing the image in the folder (rename your image to match the one you are replacing)
Then flash it in cwm with system mounted

download that icon pack
open it with winrar or any other unzipper
goto the unpack folder
in there you will find a list of folders that relate to the applications - eg Calendar
open the res folder and replace the image in there with the one you want making sure your image has the same file name as the one you are replacing
once done delete any folders to apps you dont want to replace
flash the zip in cwm with system mounted

No - its pretty self explainitory
Unzip & replace images in the zip within the folder relating to the app
I'm sure you could search YouTube yourself for videos

I'm guessing you didn't mount system before flashing the zip
Remember you also need to be rooted & most likely need to be deodexed (most custom roms are already)

I need a little help with some system apps! Thanx!

Hello everybody
I've recently upgraded my L03 to L01 and all the way up to B598 following your guides, thank you for your job.
I installed Link2SD and tried to convert some user apps to system apps, and Link2SD messed up system partition. It deleted system/app folder, so some important apps (such as the native explorer, clock, calc, even the hidden menu to force upgrade!) don't work.
Please!, if someone could zip system/app folder and send it to me i would be so thankful. :good::good::good::good:
I've tried several things, like extracting them from the update.app, but ex4extractor got stuck when trying to read system.img contents.
Thanx again!
EDIT:
I managed to extract system\app contents from system.img thanxs to Beta_P8_Lite_Alice_tool_pack-
Beware of link2sd. Don't try to convert user apps to system apps with this app, or chances are that it will mess up your system partition
