So i was switching from M.O.A.R. and trying to install Allience on my SM-G900P, I backed MOAR in TWRP, did factory reset, wiped cache and dalvik, then tried to flash Allience, it failed, then when i reboot, it is back to stock loading screen, which afdter a few seconds it reboots and does it all over again. I can restore boot and recovery, but it fails toward the end of restoring system 'after 'formatting system using make_ext4fs function' it says restore complete, but then it also says 'failed' in red right below that.
Also on boot it says ;'kernal is not SEANDROID enforcing' and 'set warranty bit: kernal'
I can access both downloader and twrp, just dont know what to do from here...

Well crap, i just needed to mount my internal storage instead of sd card. I then allowed me to flash MOAR back on. Does anyone know of a more feature filled rom for the P Varient then what I am using? I really liked the features of phoenix and allience, but mine is not supported...

First of all, you have to flash Alliance over the Rom Customizer (Goldie clearly describes in the instruction).
Well, knox 0x1... tripped by custom kernel probably from Alliance...no return, you have to live with it. TWRP trips as well.
Personally, I like CMW more.
I guess, you can enter to TWRP/CMW...
Have you been trying to reflash the box with another kernel, compatible with your model (I don't know the 900P version, I work with F)?
Full wipe etc.
One time, I was facing the problem (I'm not sure, if it was CMW/TWRP) with the wrong version of it.
I had change the stuff to another one, then I was able to flash the ROM properly. The download mode helps...
You should have reverted to a stock ROM before moving to a different custom ROM. Transitioning between custom ROMs can have unexpected results as you found out.
I agree with the poster above in that it sounds like you missed some steps in installing the Alliance ROM as well. Although I strongly prefer TWRP over CWM. The Phoenix ROM says up front that it is configured for the 900F. But reports are that everything works on the 900P except perhaps data and the stock SMS app. You could probably resolve the data issue if you put your mind to it.

Isn`t it for flashing a rom enough if you :
- data factory reset
- wipe cache and dalvik cache
- format system
- flash the rom
- data factory reset
- reboot.
Just saying, haven`t flashed a custom rom yet on the S5 so not 100% sure.

Hello people my phone getting old i think 1.5 year so far my phone started to freeze having lags getting too hot while browsing. And bootloops started without flashing anything. First bootloop happened 2 weeks ago. Today happened again twice i wiped dalvik cache and everything is fine how can i fix it? I thought rom cause it i flashed stock firmware rooted it and removed bloatware. Still happens lags,freeze,getting too hot and bootloop. Is it lollipop update? I never had this issues with kitkat. How can fix this and keep my alive?

Try a full factory reset. Be careful as this will wipe your internal storage.

Thank you for your answer but I did it after flash stock rom via odin. Wiped data / factory reset , cache partition , mounted cache , system , data , wiped dalvik cache..
Wiping data does not equal a factory reset. Wiping data does just that, wipes user installed apps. But generally leaves the internal storage alone.
A factory reset returns the phone to the settings it came out of the factory with, including a clean internal storage(If you have the stock rom). I heard that changing roms and just wiping data, dalvik and cache will still leave behind some files.
But it could also be untrue.

Flashing stock rom is same with factory reset i think clears everything.
I don't know. Haven't flashed stock on this device yet.
But don't most guys recommend doing a wipe before going back to stock?
I dont know i'll try that when i have free time. I did research some guys saying lollipop causing these problems. I'll try wipe before flash stock rom again , if issues keep happen i'll use lates 4.4.2 custom rom. Thank you for your answers i'll report back.
Real reset
This method will wipe everything, including operating system and efs files. Before you do this:
you must root
Download twrp recovery
Install the recovery using the app from the play store
Boot into recovery mode and have twrp backup everything
save your backup to an SD card and the computer (can't hurt to have two backups)
Doing the above will preserve your phone important data like your imei and efs
in case something goes wrong.
NOW
after you have backed everything up use twrp recovery to wipe data. Have twrp wipe everything except for your SD card (don't won't to lose the backup)
After everything has been obliterated have twrp boot you into download mode.
Download Odin from XDA preferably 3.09 (most stable release) and then grab an official stock firmware from a trusted source. The latest stock firmware should be at least 4.4.2
If you have carriers other than t-mobile you will also need to find a PIT file for partitioning.
When you have all of this open up Odin with your phone connected in download mode and make sure repartitioning, clear efs and nand-erase is checked along with the defaults.
Select pda button and choose your firmware (unzipped tar.md5 format.) Then select repartitioning PIT file button and direct to where you have the PIT file downloaded.
now click start (be sure that the Com port is recognized by Odin: will be highlighted in blue or yellow.)
This will take a while depending on your computer.
when it finishes your phone should reboot with a fresh os and filesystem. If you get stuck in a bootloop reboot into recovery mode and do a wipe data and wipe cache. Reboot and your phone should be good as new.
IMPORTANT!!! It is vital you keep your TWRP backups for as long as you have your phone if you lose them and something goes wrong while flashing your phone you will lose important things such as IMEI baseband which will prevent you from connecting to your network and Sim card recognition.

Is that another custom recovery?
If so then yes just make sure you have all of your system files and most importantly your efs backed up.
Run odin as administrator if that doesnt work, try using another version of Odin.

What carrier are you using, model number of the phone, etc.
Have you backed everything up? And can you flash the custom recovery through Odin if it fails?
Try it without wiping efs first just to be safe
Look here for your device you will be able to find standalone flash able versions of twrp that should work through odin.

System boots correctly, but I cannot do factory reset or wipe with TWRP, because I got some messages like "Cannot mount Data" and "Failed crypto loader". I understand that it has to do with encryption. Can someone please enlight me, and give me tips about the issue?

You have to download dm-verity and force encryption disabler from here , put it to SD card, reboot into TWRP, FORMAT DATA (not wipe) and flash that file (dm-verity and force encryption disabler). All your data will be erased.
No way to unencrypt without loosing you data for the moment(

No, you cannot perform a backup, because your data is encrypted by default and the only way to disable it is to format your data.
I have a unique problem. I have a HTC Desire 612 from Verizon and I decided to revive it to playe PoGo. But it was stuck in a boot loop and I couldn't get any custom ROM.
Finally a gentle soul here gave me the stock rom and I flashed it vide TWRP and played PoGo for weeks. Then yesterday the phone bro led and when it came up it was stuck in a boot loop.
So I decided to flash the stock ROM again. But before that I tried to factory reset. I could go to TWRP, select wipe data, enter yes and the wiping was successful, then clear dalvic and cache and system beforehand finally I flashed the stock ROM.
Surprise surprise is NOTHING happens. The phone boots without the apps telling me they are installing. Then I get back the exact same data in my phone including my selected wallpaper and apps. Before I can do anything the phone restarts.
Point is wiping and restoring the stock ROM does NOTHING to the phone yet the processes are successful. Can somebody help?

It really is about TWRP failing to wipe
I'm not sure what happened, I was flashing a kernel, and suddenly my device stopped booting, getting stuck at the OnePlus logo, with 'Powered by android". TWRP was installed, so I tried restoring a backup, but that didn't help. I tried flashing the stock 4.5.5 full zip, it would still stay at the OP logo screen. I tried wiping the phone, flashing the stock full zip, still stuck at boot. I tried going back to the stock recovery (I know, risky), and it succeeded in flashing, but when I boot to recovery, the screen just goes black, and I have to hard-reboot. I can however flash TWRP back, and it seems to work fine. When I look in the file manager on TWRP, I can see things in the system partition, but I still can't boot to it.
I'm starting to panic now, so any help would be appreciated.
To clarify, even doing fastboot boot OP5_recovery.img brings be to the black screen
It may be that you have an issue with encrypted data partition which you cannot recover otherwise
Try flashing TWRP, then in TWRP select "Wipe", "Format data" and answer with "yes" when asked for confirmation.
NOTE: when doing the steps above the whole data partition will be erased, including internal storage - so when in doubt back up your data before proceeding

I had already done that a few times.
However, wiping fixed it, but not in TWRP. doing fastboot -w fixed it, and the phone was able to boot to stock recovery. After that I flashed system zip, and TWRP again, and I'm back up (just got it working 15 mins ago)

I rebooted to recovery and wiped System (probably the guilty), Data, Cache and Dalvik with TWRP, then I pressed "reboot" and it told me "no os installed".
So I tried to flash a custom rom, the JazzROM, but still it's stucked at the logo screen (it restarts itself after 10/15 minutes and then again stucked).
What can I do to solve?
I'm able to access to TWRP.

Download and install the stock firmware.
I suggest in future you use TWRP for its intended purpose. Make a full device backup prior to modifying anything.

I have a Galaxy Tab A 8 (SM-T350) that I rooted and successfully flashed with first crDroid, then Lineage (both Android 9.0) using TWRP. I had made a backup before attempting this just in case I wanted to revert to stock.
Well, that didn't go as smoothly as I was hoping. Ever since trying to restore my backup, I've been stuck on a continuous boot loop that I can't seem to fix.
I keep getting "E:failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument)" and "dm-verity verification failed. . ." no matter what I try. I've googled the error and tried every solution suggested but I still can't get it to boot.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ignore the EFS error its probably a red herring. Your issue is dm-verity.
3 ways around it. Return to complete stock, including wiping the data partition or flash root (magisk suggested) or disable dmverity using one of the zips out there.

I've done two of the three things you suggested. I've tried returning it to stock using an image matching my exact model, and I've tried disabling dmverity. I've also tried rooting it but using a method other than magisk.
The flash seems to go well enough, but then I get stuck at the Samsung logo whenever I try rebooting into the system.
I've tried waiting, thinking I'm just being impatient, but it doesn't ever seem to get past the logo. I've tried googling ways to fix it being stuck on the logo but nothing I do seems to work. Is there any other way around it?
Side note: I've been able to flash Lineage OS again and might just have to stick with that if I can't flash it back to stock. Do you know any resources for replacing the default apps? I've tried GApps but I was wondering if there's a similar Samsung installer?

You need to wipe the data partition, aka factory reset before or after installing the stock firmware then it will take anything up to 15 mins to boot.

I did and I have been restoring it.
So far, this is what I've attempted:
Flash TWRP (twrp_3.1.0-1_sm-t350_18317.tar using Odin3 v3.10)
Reboot into recovery
Wipe everything from tablet
Format tablet
Reboot into download mode
Flash stock image with Odin
Reboot into recovery
Wipe dalvik cache
Restore backup (including efs partition)
Wipe dalvik cache (again)
Reboot
Get stuck on Samsung logo (left it for hours with no change)

Don't restore everything just EFS No need to keep wiping dalvik it serves no purpose when formatting or wiping the data partition.
Also FORMAT not wipe the data partition (note this wipes internal storage)
If it still doesn't boot install the combo firmware. Let it boot, factory reset from settings then reboot to download mode and install the stock firmware again.
