Xperia Z1s Timeshift Video and 4K Recording works!! - Xperia Z1 General

I updated my Z1s to 4.4.4 and flashed the Z2 Camera, and now I can confirm that both 4K video and Timeshift work perfectly. Unfortunately, the actual Camera application crashes when I try to open it, but installing another Camera (Google Camera) works, but only up to 8MP.

I flashed the 4k video and time shift port and everything works fine

Yes, I flashed the wrong zip file. I flashed the correct one, and now everything works perfectly. This is the phone I have wanted all these months!!

Follow the instructions and it will work great. I personally cleared cache and davlik after flashing the zip.

Do we need to flash the deodex file as instructions state? Or just the mod

No, you don't need to deodex.
1. Open Camera app at least once (if you haven't already), so it can set up its settings. Maybe take a picture too, just to be safe.
2. Download and install Xposed and Xperia Mods from link above.
3. Download 4K + Timeshift zip file. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2786475&stc=1&d=1402194839
4. Reboot into recovery.
5. Install 4K + Timeshift.
6. Wipe cache and davlik cache
7. reboot.

Awesome thanks for detailed instructions :good:

thanks for the clear instructions. For Step #3, can you link the zip file? I went to the main thread but found 5-6 different files.

Let's Get Active Display from Moto X Working!

The new active display feature form the Moto X looks like one of the best notification experiences on Android, and I want that. A Moto X dump was posted on Android Central forums the other day and I was able to identify the files that I believe go along with the active display, it is two APKs and two ODEXs. Both APKs fail to install and I'm not quite sure how ODEXs work(but I'm sure someone could explain). So othe files are called:
Code:
Aon.apk
Aon.odex
AonSettings.apk
AonSettings.odex
Let's get this working!
EDIT: Download the four files needed, instead of the whole dump.
Can you please extract the files, so that we don't have to download the complete dump.

Just tried the 2 apks (with odex) in PAC (PA-CM10.1) and tried to launch it via Apex Activities (obviously it won't show up in Settings), and it doesn't even show up.
Not sure if it's because it's odexed, or what.
I didn't expected otherwise, though.

Appreciate trying it out. I wonder if the settings option would enable a flag for it run. Who knows. Probably a dream to have this running on any other device other than the moto x.

Can't install them you have to drop them into /system
I also tried to push the two apks and the .odex files to system, but unfortunately my moto defy with cm10.2 get problems with them. First the systemUI stops working and after a reboot the phone gets into infinit boot loop.
(And yes I know a Motorola Defy does not have a AMOLED screen so it would be counterproductive for battery saving)
I'm going to deodex the apks and upload them later today and it would be great if someone can test it.

MotoX Active Display still looks sexier. But, i respect that developer. They did it pretty fast.
doesnt it need moto framework like motoblur?
+1 that moto active display looks sexier.
Here deodexed versions of the apks.
Download. Push to system folder and give permissions 644
Aon.apk -> http://www.multiupload.nl/9RS01TH8VE
AonSettings.apk -> http://www.multiupload.nl/FHOH9YVVWS
But watch out. My moto defy gets infinite bootloops even with this versions.

Maybe someone with a blur ROM (at least android 4.2, the Aon.apk gives parsing error on older android versions) can test. Even on other roms testing is needed.

How do I invoke or run the apk from the phone? I'm on a Telus i747m with CM10.1 latest nightly 07/08 and the apks sit there. I would have to look at how to decompile the settings.apk hopefully to find out how they launch the AonSettings.apk.

Did you try to launch jt as an activity from a custom launcher? But I think the best way to do it is indeed modding your settings.apk (I'll try it later and share de results)

I couldn't find the activity from Nova Launcher. However, I'll try using 'aapt' tonight to see if I can list the actions and I'm assuming I should be able to launch it from 'am' in terminal emulator.
Anyone managed to gei it installed? I pushed the apk, set the permissions but not even an bootloop happened. Ideas?

Try activating the Xposed safe mode. There's an explanation in this post.
If that doesn't work, flash the Xposed disabler zip in recovery (if you have a custom recovery).
If neither works, flash an FTF as already stated.

So I just tried my zip once again to confirm and it gets flashed easily in my case. So, I'm not sure what's wrong in your case.
But one thing I can confirm is that there is nothing wrong with package.
