Hello,
I just installed this ROM and the battery life is very low, it dropped to 96% in 40 minutes and I only used it for about 2 minutes, other than that it has always been idle.
I lowered the brightness already, shut down all the useless apps and done everything I could do but it's still low and with this rom I can't seem to find a power saving option.
Screen battery usage is 45%, isn't that too much?
Thanks for the help!

I recently flashed to JM5 + Lagfix 2.3, installed a few apps and played around with the phone until it dropped to 15% battery.. charged it to 100% and went out while i was on the way to my destination i was just exploring around the UI getting to know andriod a little better and I noticed my battery % was dropping like 1% per 1min.. I have the mod for battery indicator with %. my total unplugged time was 2hrs+ my battery was down to 64%. Looking at the battery usage its saying that 75% of it was taken by the display and the run timer was 38mins.. i have the brightness level at 1/4 of the way and it seems to drain unreasonably fast.. all other process was at 2-3% usage only. This never happened when I got the phone for the first 3 days ( came with DXJG4 )
Wifi/bt/gps/autosync/bgdata are all off, using 2G network also and power saving for the display is also off.
Is my battery flakey or just the OS giving me the wrong information ?
Ok so i wiped my internal SD card and reflashed JM5 + repartition again and after booting my battery when to 68% from 53%..
EDIT:
Rebooted the phone and im now getting 56% LOL!
There's a thread about resetting your battery threshold in the development section. Try that.
previously when i reboot my phone, it'll fly from ~20% to ~50% lol. it's just some calibrating issue i think. i drained it to ~5% then charged it up until it NOTIFIES me that it's fully charged(ignore the battery meter / %), wait for the popup thing specifically.
works fine for me.
Okay, as far as battery life HyperDroid is definitely one of the best i've used... here's my stats and what i've done to get this;
HyperDroid v1.5
2gig PNY sd
CleanEX ozRom WM 6.5
radio 2.11.50.26
Task manager (after every use *with autokill feature*)
SetCPU clocked at 998 for low and 1152 high performance
422/422 for screen off
dpi set at 220 res
and did this before (dont know if it helped but it seemed to...)
*fully drain battery until phone will no longer turn on, plug in, boot WM 6.5, let charge to 100%, then boot Android, unplug, completely drain until no longer turns on, boot Android, let fully charge*
After this was all said and done, these numbers are with moderate use, facebook, web browsing, little gaming, average talk, no music, linpack/quadrant use, xda app usage... everyday stuff
I took the SS when i got home from work, i set the phone down the rest of the night, hoping to pull off another screenshot before i settled for the night, it reached 2% batter life with 18hrs 23 min 15 seconds, before the phone shut down... while attempting to get the screenshot the phone shut off and was forced to plug back in ( i was pissed but what can you do?) and stats reset.
Give it a try and see if you like it, it works perfect for me... daily driver usage all day with what i use it for.
getting about 5-7 mah drain on standby which is about 2% per hour.
16mA in stand-by mode
that's about *% per hour << idk how many hours
use juice plotter. you can see your battery drain in a plotted graph.
Had good results with HyperDroid also, was able to do between 25-32 hours depending on how many calls i received.
25-32 hours is a lot? on standby on 2g connection?
Hi guys, this is not another rant post about battery life, but i'm starting to become really
frustrating with it, i tried almost all the solutions provided here on the forum but i can't
simply get the **** out of it. This is my story:
I bought the phone as used around 1 month ago (the guy who sold me the phone used it for around 1
month as well). I was quite satisfied about the device, but i noticed almost immediately the damn
poor battery life. With stock battery, my stats are (this is an average of the last 3 times i
used it):
Average duration: 27 hours
Average display usage: 2.5 hours
Average display %: around 45%
Average standby: Cell 30%, phone 15-16, other apps and android core 1-2
This with the following configuration:
3g off
gps off
background data off
bluetooth off
display brightness set to the minimum
no background applications or live wallpapers
No animations
No vibration feedback
No sounds
No widgets
Removed 5 touchwiz panels out of 7
Wi fi on (actually i noticed some small improvements by leaving it off)
The strange thing is, i noticed that the phone drains a LOT of battery while in standby. During
the night (7-8 hrs standby) my phone can drains up to 20% of the battery life. I read on the
forum that a lot of you guys have a battery drain overnight of around 2-3% which is 10 times
lower than mine.
So i thought about 2 possible causes:
1) Software related(processes or applications running in background)
2) Hardware related (battery ****ed up by the previous owner; phone not going in standby correctly)
Regarding the problem 1) i tried almost every solution provided here on the forum. Updated to new roms (JM5 and JM8) installed ultraslim roms, installed battery saving applications and task killers, performed some exotic "fixes" (removed battery stats file, tried to completely drain the battery following some procedures explained here on the forum). Nothing helped. To check case 2) i bought a cameronsino extended battery. Well with this battery i have exactly twice the duration of the stock battery. Last night i charged it to full before going to bed. This morning, when i woke up, the phone drained 10% (!) of the battery in 8 hours. So the stock battery is not the problem. What should i think then? that My phone is ****ed up? is There no chance to obtain a decent battery life? How is possible that a lot of guys have almost twice my battery life with stock battery?
I guess your phone may not be going into the sleep mode correctly ... try using system panel (from the market) and figure out which rogue app is causing the problem. Mine usually drains 4-5% at night.. (jm8 stock + voodoo)...
I have check out by battery is in good condition.
but still i have battery drain problems.
problems started the day one i flashed a rom.
and the battery draining problem is just due to display.
without display on data connection on, and full time in proper connectivity area:
with music playback i get approx. 10hrs
or with bluetooth 6hrs
or on call i got 5 hrs
this were my battery stats.
but with display on for just 1 hr without any use idealy on homescreen itself it.
so i needed to know were will i get to change the display settings as i was using the lowest brightness of the rom.
i needed to change other features of display were are they available.
it will thankful of you if you help.
Turn your contrast down, use a conservative kernel setting and apart from that, if its still really bad (after a few battery cycles) then its f+$%ked unfortunately.
Hi my gt-i9301i seems to be having problems with the battery indicator, from 100-50% it is working okay but when it gets below 50 it freaks out, it immediately drops to 14% then skips to 7% and after two or three minutes it turns off. When I remove the battery and put it back in after a minute it goes back to 27% but then does the same, drops immediately to somewhere near 7% and dies again. What can be the problem, I tried different batteries, calibrating the battery by dropping to 0 then back to 100 and using a battery calibration app (root) but nothing fixes it. It doesn't matter if it is the stock firmware 4.4.4 or lineageos 17.1, it does the same thing on both. Anybody know a solution? I get 2 hours SoT (screen on time) and this is not enough to get me through the day and it is my daily driver since I'm a student and I currently don't have enough money for a new phone.
Just to mention, it's not because it's set to Performance mode, it does the same on Balanced too. Battery saving mode makes the phone unusably slow.
