Hi, guys,
I have come across a strange bug I think. I remember that with other Samsung phones I've had or played with, when I have changed the language of the entire interface this have had effect on the language of the contacts index letter sidebar on the right - you know, the one that helps you navigate to the first letter of a contact quickly.
With International Note 3 (N9005) no matter what I do to language settings, I don't see the index letters change. Any ideas can this be done in settings somehow that don't know.
The problem is that my contacts names are in cyrillic and I practically cannot use the fast indexing as in this universal alphpabetical order all the cyrillic letters come before the latin alphabet, somewhere after symbols and numbers.
Thanks

What happens when you long scroll your Contacts, remember? In 2 seconds the phone starts to circle through big letters A-Z which allows you to go directly to the letter you want. You all know this.
The big letters are always Latin.
Alas! for those who store their Contacts in other languages.
Even in my Russian firmware the phone goes through A-Z.
The question: how to make a Wizard look through non-Latin letters?
That would interest me too
I have the language installed on my phone, now i have converted all my contact's names into arabic (including the english ones).
Just one problem, when holding the down button on my wizard, it brings up the massive A, B, C, D, E, F, ect scroller to jump from one letter to antoher.
Is there a way i can change these letters to arabic characters in the registry or are they integrated into the contacts application? please let me know.
Bump... Anyone?

Hi,
I am living in Norway and are looking into importing a Motorola Pro. Motorola is not present in Norway since some years ago so I have to import it from another country. In Norway we have three letters in addition to the ordinary letters. These letters are "æøå" and are not present on the Pro's keyboard.
My question is: Does it exist software that makes it possible to replace a string of letters with another string when typing? What I mean is if I write "aa" it become the letter "å", "ae" become "æ" and "oe" become "ø". So if I write the word "vaar" it will be replaced with the word "vår" or "soeke" will be replaced with "søke" and so on.
My second option is to change the key map so if I press for example ALT-A it will write the letter Å, ALT-S will write the letter Æ and ALT-D will write the letter Ø.
I would prefer the aa,oe,ae replacement option if it exist.
Thanks in advance
Jarle
Hello everybody! I'm from Belarus and I've always been using russian version of MIUI and now I've installed an english version for some reasons. Everything works fine except SmartDial function. In russian version, when I press buttons 5 and then 2 in dialer, all matching contacts appear in the list. By "matching" I mean all contacts, containing any combination of letters on 5 and 2 keys. In english it is ABC and DEF respectively. So, for the English, the contact "Bernand" will match by pressing 5 and 2 keys in dialer.
The problem is that all my contacts are stored with russian names. When I used russian MIUI, i could use the feature, that i described above for contacts stored with russian names (when using russian miui, russian alphabet also appears on dialer buttons). But when using english MIUI, smart dial function doesn't match any contacts stored with russian names. I guess, I could replace some file with dialer keyboard layout so to make smart dial understand the connection between button 2 and russian letters АБВГ (for example). Is there such file? Maybe it is inside Phone.apk?
Thanks a lot.
I'm using the Samsung keyboard on my Note 4 with two languages enabled (English and German)
Sadly the autocorrect and word learning seems to unified which means that when I write in English (with the English language selected on the space bar ) I still get many german word offered by autocorrect.
Also learnt words seem to be stored in only one dictionary; not a pet-language one
But many words are similar (in terms of swiping path etc) between the two languages so that autocorrect's offerings are often useless. (Bettet instead of better)
The same applies for the handwriting input as that seems to be part of the same keyboard implementation. ..
I'd like it much better if it only used the selected language for word suggestions and kept separate dictionaries for leant words. .I can live with having to store some entries (like names etc) twice if I must
So is there a way to accomplish that?
Or is there a replacement keyboard that works as well with handwriting and swiping but which has separate dictionaries etc?
Try another keyboard maybe?
Right. Suggestions?
