[Q] Wi-Fi network to 7 Inch Tablet connection question

Hi all
Hope someone can help
Bought my son a 7" epad/tablet for Christmas.
Problem is when I set up a Wi-Fi network on my HTC the tablet wont find/see it.
I have no problems linking my HTC phone Wi-Fi network to my laptop if I am out. And the epad/tablet finds my home internet Wi-Fi and hotspots outside home with no problem.
So I know the Wi-Fi network on my HTC phone works
And I know the tablet can see Wi-Fi networks.
The tablet just will not find my HTC one.
Does anyone know why or what I need to do to get around this issue please?
My only thought is that the HTC is on 3G and thats why?
Kind regards

[Q] WMWifiRouter's router name isn't discovered on Viewpad 7

Been running WMWifiRouter on my HD2 (TMo, WM6.5) for over a year with little problem, serving as my home computer's Internet connection. Just bought a Viewpad 7, and want to serve its wifi connection similarly. Nothing I can do on either device causes the HD2 wifi hotspot to be seen by the Viewpad 7. I also downloaded and tried the XDA's WiFiRouter, with same results. The Viewpad 7's wifi is working fine - - it can see lots of other wifi hotspots. Any suggestions?

I just got this answer from a similar post on PCCGeeks forum:
your windows mobile creates adhoc WiFi, which supported by full blown OS, like windows xp. android does not recognize this type of network. however, iOs devices can see ad hoc.
the only tablet on the market that can see the network created on your hd2 is the iPad Oh. Darn. That is bad news. Hmmm... what if I changed my HD2 to run Android (I see lots of forum activity that seems to say that is superior and relatively easy to do, am I right?) If I do that, is there an Android app for the HD2 that would create a wifi hotspot that the Viewpad 7 can see? Surely there's a solution for these 2 pieces of hardware. I'd rather not have to get a SIM with cell phone service for the Viewpad 7, because that's a $30+ a month "solution".

[Q] -_-. this sucks.

I have TW cable and high speed internet and running W8 without any problems. It's just a WiFi connection. If your WiFi works you'll be able to connect.
Your IPS does not tell you what you can use as far as OS or device. You should be fine as long as you do not install any of timewarner's crappy software on your system(s)

Nexus 7 connect with wifi - G.... possible?

I have nexus 7 - run on 4.2 JB and a nokia e5-00 ( symbian s6v3 ).
I want nokia e5 become a wifi hostpot but my nexus 7 can't find wifi from nokia e5 - wifi g.
Are there anyway to connect ?
Sorry for my bad E. ^^~:fingers-crossed:
First, your phone OS has to support wifi hotspot connection. Android does, Symbian, not sure. Second, even if your phone supports it your carrier may not without extra fees. AT&T blocks automatic access to the wifi hotspot feature in Android as do others. Fortunately, there are some easy workarounds that can be found via a Google search (I just did this morning and got mine working with my SII).
