Device: Rooted AT&T Galaxy S5 Active (should be the same as non-Active versions)
Does anyone know of any way to disable the Bluetooth connect/disconnect sounds? Between my pickup and my Galaxy Gear Fit (especially when I take it off to charge it), it can get annoying.
I figured it would be in the same area as the files required (by deleting) to silence the damned camera sounds but I cannot seem to find the right ones for Bluetooth. Anyone point me in the right direction?
Thank you very kindly.

Yeah i'm interested too....
Also to make it stop to vibrate every 5 sec if you leave your phone in another room... 1 vibration is enought.....
Yes I want both these ideas too

This is te 1 thing that is generally annoying.
I find that when i answer a call using the sliding function, the vibration carries on for a second or 2 even though the call has been answered. Does anyone else get this problem? is there a reg fix?

So maybe a universal problem. There must be a way to fix it in the registry?
So it seems that this problem exists on only 2 mobile handsets. Hmmm and here i was kinda hoping for a possible solution.
If anyone has an idea how to solve this please let me know
Cheers

It's Win Mobile. There have always been lags and delays. Just make sure that the phone application is always running in the background ie don't let the X-close program exit the phone app when you tap 'X'. Also make sure you keep a decent amount of memory free.
Pretty much all you can do until some streamlined cutdown ROMs come out.
This always drove me mad with my Tytn II - good to see they've put so much effort into fixing such an obvious problem.
The other nice feature of the Tytn II was sometimes - usually when the phone was plugged into a USB cable and syncing in the office - answering a call would result in a second or two of deafening SPEAKERPHONE before the call got routed through to the earpiece (so a split second of the caller's "hello?", or usually something more embarrasing, would echo around the office). Did that carry over as well?
I remember seeing an option in one of the config apps here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=441 (4th and 5th stickies) where you could fix this delay.

Thanks mate will take a look.
So I have been trying to figure this out for a while. But I figured maybe we could get some community involvment with it.
If you weren't aware:
In 1.5 you could dial ** on your dialer, hit Call and it would redirect all audio (music, games, notifications) to your paired BlueTooth headset.
This no longer works in 2.1 - if you dial ** you get the 'p' and then when you hit call it almost immediatiely disconnects. But you can hear the audio for a split second in the BT.
If anyone can figure this out - or maybe dig a little deeper into Dialer.apk?
Maybe just a few people typing random stuff into their dialer to see if anything will work.
EDIT:
SOOOOOOOOOOOO
Watching LOGCAT when I dial this it calls a SpecialCharSequenceMGR
MY GUESS:
This one is different than the 1.5 dialer - Maybe tonight I cna merge with success....we shall see. Unless someone else wants to take a look before then.
my question would be whether the dialer in 2.1 got an upgrade. i guess it did since this feature doesnt exist (obvs), so any reason you cant flash on a dialer from 1.5?
i dont know much about how the internals of them work otherwise id help in the search, well after i finish this semester in two weeks. yep yep.
pardon me if my reply was a bit simplistic and if you tried that already, then sorry :/
good luck!
bump.
Updated top post.
Looking forward to your results. Hope you succeed.
On my Hero, long clicking on the device in Bluetooth Settings (in both 1.5 and 2.1), allows me to change the settings of that bluetooth connection including turning on and off both Phone and Media audio.
My only problem is that they have never played well together. If I'm playing media and a phone call comes in, the media properly pauses, but the phone either switches in on the phone's speaker or is totally silent causing me to miss the call.
Bump for the hell of it and a question.
Does anyone know where Dialer is in a 1.5 rom? I downloaded a fresh 1.1 to grab the apk and its not in system/app...wtf???

I think this might be because you have an A2DP capable headset. Mine doesn't give me this option.
Ive been looking
I also have been looking for somthing along these lines, as well as some other members. I started this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=660519 earlier trying to get help, there are actually a few bounties out now....Check it out
Ok so if any one who knows more linux than I do can try to figure out how to pipe the audio from one output to another it would be cool.
I was thinking it would be something lile MediaPlaybackService | AudioHardwareMSM72XX
But I am not sure if that is even remotely close. It doesn't work for me, I guess we just need to get the right services.
Whenever the phone is in bad signal area (usually in class) the phone always makes the annoying alert sound for signal lost signal found. I don't think there is an option to turn it off... Maybe I can just delete the system tone? Somone want to do some research for me to find out which tone it is? I'd do it myself, but I'm a busy man. I'm rooted and all so if anyone can just give me the file location or some other idea if I'm not right...
Thanks
I've been trying to fix this for a while now, I'm at a loss. There doesn't seem to be a setting, and I can't find the sound file anywhere.
The only way to stop this sound (that I've been able to do) is to put the phone in silent mode. I think Airplane Mode will do it as well, but I haven't tested that.
This has been annoying me as well. I have a Captivate from AT&T from work and I loved it so I got the Fascinate for myself. The funny thing is that the Captivate doesn't have this problem so Verizon must have modified the ROM to do this. Hopefully when ROM's start getting released it will be fixed.
found a solution to this porblem. the new update that vzw is putting out(not froyo) specifically says that it will stop this sound,
Hey guys this thing thats been happening to me is absulotely mind boggling and if anyone can resolve this it would be greatly appreciated. it bugs me like theres no tomorrow.
so heres the issue.
i have a samsung galaxy s4 with all the latest updates provided Android Version 4.2.2
when im travelling along in the car or even randomly seated i would receive a call or even make a call and place my phone on loudspeaker now the funny thing here is that the phone after maybe 10-20 seconds will automatically switch back to normal speaker and it annoys me so i have to put it back on loudspeaker mode
ive had the occasional scene where it still showed that loudspeaker was activated but the caller was coming through the normal speaker so it forces me to tap loudspeaker to de-activate it and then tap it again to activate only to realise not long after it automatically switched back to the normal speaker all over again.
NOTE: the phone is laying flat on my lap or standing infront of me.
has anyone had this issue before and is there some sort of fix for it
PLEASE HELPPP !!!
For some reason the files are there to make a sound when connecting to the charger but the phone just vibrates. Anyone know how to enable this sound when connecting to the charger. Thanks!
Switch to Sound mode instead of vibrate/silence should help
Only helpful posts please. Of course the volume is up.
Is the System Volume up? Tap the gear behind the volume bar and check if the bottom bar is set to silent.
Yep. System volume is up. Does yours make a noise when connecting to a charger.
Mine just vibrates. No sound.

Huh. No, it doesn't.
I never noticed, I always have system volume turned off because the power fluctuates here just enough to keep triggering the sensor, and on my S3 it kept making a bloody racket every other few minutes. Very irritating.
Turned it up, but no, it doesn't make a sound. Just vibrates.
Those sound files are only there because Samsung did a lazy copy of the generic sound files they use in their nature ux theme. They just copied them all instead of deleting the ones they didn't use in the Note 3.

Guess there just is no way
Hi,
Something which might help is an application in the Play Store called Light Flow (allows you to set all things colour, sound and vibration for events which occur). The fee-based version has a 'Charging' notification which will play a sound when you connect your charger (just tested it and it works). Perhaps check out the Lite version first and see if you like it and/or it has this option for free!
But just let me add... I used to like this app but I don't use it any more. I had to remove it from my S2 because of a talkback issue. Now with the Note 3 there seems to be issues with the LED light not working as it should when the app is enabled. You also have to inspect each event (e.g. SMS, etc) and make sure what you had on before the app was insalled is still on (the app only has a certain number enabled by default and overides stock alerts).
Hope this helps.
Jonty.

use the app from playstore called PLUG SOUND. that's all it is for to make a sound when connecting your phone and dis-connecting your phone. best thing is you choose the sound from your phone anything you want. hit thanks if this helped
Ancient thread, I know. Mine turned out to be a setting to allow exceptions when do not disturb mode is on (which it is always on my phone). In (Pie) Notifications->Do not disturb->Allow exceptions->Touch sounds (on). With it turned off, I get no sound when I plug in the charger.
