Is it possible to connect an android phone to the tablet through Bluetooth, WiFi or even usb and make and receive calls and sms through the tablet?
tried searching, but all i can find is how to use the phone's internet connection, but cant find any information on how to connect to the cell phone part for calls and sms.
you can use a app called textab ..or sms sync ..
for sms phone calls .. only thing i know of is like google voice or like skype.
Will those work with the iphone as well? I'd love to have texts pushed to my tablet.

There is an app in the market called AirDroid that will allow you to text through your tablet. It will connect to your phone via wifi using a web browser, I am using Skyfire. I am not sure if you can make phone calls, but you can transfer music and photos. Hope this helps.

Airdroid is a very nice and useful app. thanks for that.
unfortunately, no phone function though.
years ago, i had an old "dumb" phone that i connected to the computer with bluetooth and was able to make and receive calls from it.
wonder why it is not available with the so called "smart" phones.
even to just be able to use the tablet as a hands-free device to answer calls would be useful to me. i can do it when the phone is connected to the computer with bluetooth. but when i try to connect the phone to the tablet, nothing happens. it tells me that it is paired but not connected and no other options are available on either the tablet or the phone.
They have a program called tablet talk on the market. You can make and receive txt true the tablet and see incoming phone calls on the tablet from the phone thru Bluetooth or wifi
If your on sprint, you can just integrate your cell number into google voice, with groove ip I can make calls and SMS from gvoice app

It's a very interesting concept. It's something that I would be interested as well.
Tablet Talk and Texttab allow to send and receive SMS when connected to the phone by BT.
Tablet Talk works with most tablets with a Wi-Fi connection but not with the iconia a100/500
For phone calls, there is still another problem with the a500 : it's the low volume of the microphone, anyway...
Google voice plus goove IP... your welcome.
Thanks, but I already have a voip service.
not what i am looking for.
like to have a direct access to the cellphone part from my tablet. or at the very least, use the tablet as a handsfree device.
but i guess it is asking too much and it is not possible or there would have been something on market to do that by now.
oh well...
Use phone with tablet
Hi,
I'm interested in this aswel ...
Primarily the idea is that say I have a Samsung Note, which is a bit big to hold up to your head to make a call, to be able to connect a phone to the Note and make/receive calls using the phone but through the Note. A bit like a bluetooth headset, but using a phone.
Before anyone says it, I have a B'Tooth headset, but I hate them - I don't want to look like a cab driver 8)
Cheers,
Stu
I use TexTab. I love it. It allows me to create new texts, respond to ones that come in, and even displays alerts for incoming calls. I can leave my phone charging in one room of my house while I use my Iconia in another room to text through my phone.
Bluetooth only
Here is the thing. I installed an android tablet in my car, and now i am trying to sync it to my phone in regard to phone calls and sms. I know google voice can do that but i am not planning on putting internet connection on the tablet since it will almost always be in the car. My old TomTom had a bluetooth sync with my phone and could receive phone calls from it .. is there any possible way i can do that and sync my tablet with my phone via bluetooth ???

You posted in very old thread. As an answer to you Bluetooth mic support is not available with the a500 in either direction, so it will not do as you want
MighyText
I use mightytext. Its simple.and does not need to be connected either by bluetooth nor wifi. Works like.. charm. Just download it.on both your android devices. Very simple
Can anyone come up with a way to forward calls to your watch through WiFi and make calls as well?
We know you can connect a Bluetooth directly to your watch, so theoretically you could do it... Am I right?
Anyone?
A2DP and HRP are the only bluetooth profiles enabled in android wear right now. Bluetooth headset/earpieces use the HSP profile.
Theoretically, you could have a push-to-talk conversation, using the watch mic and bt audio. It would have to be a call via a SIP app (e.g. skype, google), and not a call received by your phone via cell network.
Apparently side-loaded apps do have direct internet access when connected to wifi (see firefox on wear), so maybe someone will hack something together. (I haven't tried the internet connection myself) I would be very surprised if it's a good experience.
a wear ptt solution would b big. that would b an awesome hangouts feature aswell

Hi all,
I have a rather frustrating issue and I am not finding an answer. I drive an old 2007 Seat with an OEM bluetooth that is beautifully handled by the steering wheel and the dashboard.
I have a Note 3 SM-N9005 running Magma NX and I am very happy with it. When I connect the phone to the Bluetooth it only connects as Calls (Not media) and it handles regular calls perfectly. I do however have all my family overseas and rely a lot on whatsapp and skype calls to stay in touch and I drive a lot. When I receive a Whatsapp call, my own number shows in the dash and I can pick up the call and I can talk for a few 10 seconds and the the bluetooth link is lost. The call remains on but the link with the car is lost. I also tried it with a friends unrooted OEM Samsung J5 and the same thing happens.
HOWEVER! My wifes iphone SE does it all, calls, whatsapp and skype, and it is the very first time I am inclined to switch to an iphone, only because of that and I am not liking it.
Can anyone think of a reason why the iphone will handle voip call over the car's older oem BT whereas the android wont? Is there possibly a solution for it? (I am not changing my car or my car's stereo anytime soon)
Many thanks in advance for any pointers!

Something similar happened to me using my stereo's bluetooth feature, but my problem was that I wasn't able to link-pair them at all. I erased the stereo's history of connected and paired devices, I removed the stereo from my paired devices in my Note 3 also and re-paired them from the beginning. It works great after I did that, have you given it a try?
Hi Team,
I have lemfo lem5 pro smart watch and i am using it for 6 months. Also i got basic and small latest android mobile phone with Bluetooth and wifi. My smart watch has my personal SIM and my mobile phone has 2 office SIMs. Though i have Bluetooth headset to make call from smart watch i am looking for way if we can redirect phone call which i receive on smart watch to my mobile phone via Bluetooth using some kind of app.Its not always possible to use Bluetooth headset to get call on smart watch. Since i always using small mobile phone its handy to receive call on phone instead of Bluetooth headset. Any app exist for such case??
Thanks in advance
