No, use minimal gapps.

Use this minimal from BaNKs: https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/BaNkS/GApps/4.4.4/
I tested probably every package around and the minimal from above is the only one that worked.

I installed today [Kitkat][Nightlies] CM11 Android 4.4 for the Defy(+) using the 24.07 release.
It starts correctly, but Gapps are not installed even if i try to install them through recovery.
I tried minimal Gapps 4.4.4 from Banks.
Wipe cache, data and dalvik do nothing.
I can not see Play Store
and can not link to my google account.
Any Idea how to solve this problem ?
Thanks,

Those work for me as well. The other packages are too big to fit into the system partition.

Finally, i managed to install it.
note : do not reboot between kitkat and gapps...
thanks for your help.

Reboot has nothing to do.
In fact I consider that rebooting after 4.4 new install is recommended because I had the issues with not booting into system, because of the wrong gapps.
I installed that minimal gapps afterwards.

If you have CWM or TWRP recovery installed do NOT use Rom Manager and uninstall it. It conflicts with CWM and causes errors. Download CM from here http://get.cm/?device=mako&type= the first time, after that you can update and flash from within the rom itself in settings/ about the phone.

[Q] Youtube Sign In "An Error Occured"

So yersterday I flashed the custom rom "NeoX Blackstar X2", but when I'm trying to sign in on YouTube, it says "An Error Occured". I tried to clear data cache but it didnt work, I also found out that I needed to flash gapps.zip but it bricked (yes I wiped the data and cleared cache before flashing)
Does anyone know how I can fix that?

okay, i was just curious. btw did you update the app to the latest version? or are you able to use other google services like gmail and hangouts?
You can't just install Google play services - you will get the message an error has occurred when you sign in
you need to flash the entire gapps framework
backup any data apps etc for restore after
go into cwm
wipe data/reset
mount system
mount data
mount cache
flash the gapps zip in the attachment
Restart
Open market (playstore)
wait a while and it will self update to latest version
download YouTube
open YouTube
click link to install Google play services
once installed sign into YouTube

no sorry - if you dont know how to use cwm or flash a zip search google for how to use cwm (clockwork mod recovery)
if you are using stock rom this is not required - it is only for custom roms that are stock based (so not cm7)
If you are using a custom rom you already know how to flash a zip in cwm
its the same process
go into cwm
wipe data
mount system data cache
flash the gapps zip
restart
you can now sign into youtube and click the link telling you to install google play services - it will now install and you can now sign into youtube and also use google hangouts and other apps that require google play services
like I said its only for stock based custom roms so if you are using a stock based custom rom you should be familier with the process of flashing zips
if you are not using a stock based custom rom or have never flashed a zip you will be on stock rom and therefor this is not required - google play services will either be a part of your stock rom anyway or will install fine anyway
if you are using cm7 then its the same process but just download the gapps for cm7 instead
That's coz ur rom dev would have placed a different playstore i.e disabling auto update... And when you install the huge play services it says incompatible with existing version blah blah...

Wiping data shouldn't take long at all. When people say wipe data/factory reset when changing roms it doesn't mean wipe the whole sd card. Do you have the latest recovery version? For CWM it is 6.0.3.6 or 6.0.3.7. For TWRP it is 2.6.3.0
The correct procedure is:
Wipe data/factory reset (NOT sd card)
Wipe cache/dalvik cache
Install Rom
Install Gapps
Install SU (optional)
Reboot

Redownload the ROM. Once you've downloaded just install it and wipe cache and dalvik and it should be fine.
Su, in full, Super SU is root made by Chainfire. The normal one in cm is made by Koush but you don't need to flash the Chainfire one, only do that if you have root problems

Hello, on Mi3w Data(f2fs)
First I installed rom, then wipe cahed and dalvik, then reboot to recovery.
Next I tried "BiTGApps-arm-10.0.0-v0.6_signed.zip" but failed sdk version.
Then I tried "open_gapps-arm-10.0-pico-20201204.zip" and no errors at first try. so I wiped cache and dal and reboot again then flashed "Magisk_20.4"
And boot to system.
Reminder, skip pin entering after selecting 3 lock options. face unlock feature crashing and will NOT end SETUP.
BTW this is Great! Thanks! my first exp on AndroidQ.

flashing Rom and Gapps(pico) then Wipe Cache and Dalvik
then reboot to recovery then flash Magisk 20.4
(Optional Reboot to recovery I wiped Dalvik, Cache, Data, including Internal Storage.
Then I reboot to recovery again, because my recovery setting will reset after wiping internal storage)
Now reboot to SYSTEM
SETUP REMINDER! (My Mi3w) Face Unlock CRASHING and will NOT end SETUP.
To be safe I did (no sim inserted) Skip Data and Wifi.
Selected "FaceUnlock+Pin" (DO NOT ENTER PIN) "Skip" setup everything later.
