Help Me make my Screen Bleed again! - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good Day Everyone
did anyone of you owned a S4 back at its launch? Then Maybe you can remember the struggle with it's Screen Bleeding/Smearing all over the place whilst scrolling up n down a list. The pitch black background was to blame for this. Not able to light up quick enough. Well I Themed my N9005 with All Backs Black which itself is a lovely theme. But many system backgrounds like the Dialer, Contacts, File browser and Settings etc. are a dark gray color which annoy the s*** out of me. After theming it with All Blacks Black the dark gray background is very noticeable to me. Here is a sample
I intentionally made it a bit more visible for non amoled screens

I've tried replace .png's like tw_background_holo_dark and tw_background_dark but sadly that didn't work like it seems have for many people on their S4's according to @bala_gamer over at his thread ( i know they try to get rid of that effect in that thread but at the bottom of the first comment he shows a method to reverse the "fix").
I mentioned my desire on the All Blacks Black thread and @Kdio suggested that maybe messing with the right .XML file would help, but I have no clue which one I have to edit.
I know getting the background to black would cause smearing/bleeding (whatever you wanna call it) but I'm fine with that.
I would be grateful if some one could help me out with this issue and knows what to do.
May the odds be ever in your favor! Peace Out :fingers-crossed:

Any good photoshoppers around?

Hey guys (and gals)...
i was just strolling around today, and thought to myself..
man this grey HTC background sucks...Just curious if anyone has made a good background for their wizard.
I was trying to find a good Vista Aurora style one, but My effors were not so good =\
Gimme some colors and a basic idea what you want to see as a bg. Are you looking for dials and whatnot to use as bg for rlToday, or are you just looking for a nice pic to match your color scheme, or what?
If you're just looking for some nice pics to chop and use as background, I suggest looking here: http://www.everystockphoto.com/
It's a search enabled, indexed library of royalty free or cheap pictures (if use is private, no royalties apply).
If you're looking for something custom-made, you need to post specifications.
Custom program icons and background:

}
Vista Aurora bg you can chop/resize yourself (download PhotoPlus, it's free and easy to use):
I'm looking for a vista theme and background.
The closest I've gotten is the HTC_Default theme.
and with this background :
I like most of it, except, the grey doesn't show up too well on the phone.
If only it was a solid black with the little blue "aurora" lines, that would be great (also, it was somewhat difficult adjusting the size to fit the phone)
Edit: I know the quality of the picture sucks monkey balls, thats because I changed it from BMP to Jpeg (easier to upload).
Hi , to avoid photoshop problems you can check out these sites

i know photoshop a little bit and have a thread with a few today screens if you're interested.

Looks rather creepy to me.
And I don't understand how a low quality and distorted iPhone is relevant to Android.

+1, No offense, it does look a little creepy, but cheers for the info.
Regards
Thats probably the eyes. Poser users want to see that there are poseable eyes in the figure, even though the google droid just has blank balls where his eyes are.
Rest assured, you can have solid colored eyes as well, and provided was green, white and black, the most common solid eye colors we see. (You can see that in the logo image on top of the first image.)
The phone behind him is actually a generic mobile phone... the point of it in the image is to solidify the fact that its the android robot in viewers eyes.
And no offense taken at all. The point of adding so many options to him is so end users can make him sad, happy, creepy, whatever. That maximizes the use you can get from him.
Gotcha. Cheers, great stuff, I wish you luck.

Image Retention on new S5?

Just picked up a new white S5 on Friday. Few days later, I am noticing a burned in bar on the lower half of the screen. I am not sure what to make of this? Could this just be an issue with AMOLED panels? It's not very noticeable unless you look for it, but it is definitely there. Would love some opinions on this.

Burn-in (uneven wear to be more accurate) will still happen in any AMOLED device. the technology has improved so it should not appear until quite some time down the road, at least it's supposed to have improved.
Any app that might have kept an static image for a long time there?

Well before venturing ideas, I'd like to get a good idea of what you are seeing. I'm sure that it is glaringly obvious to you since you know it's there now.. but your photos are not close ups or high res.. and you didn't circle the area or describe it in detail. Can you point it out or describe it better?
It might be exactly as the poster above suggests or I can think of three or four other possible causes depending on what the artifact looks like.

Camera effects

Hi guys!
As I said before, I come from a very large list of Xperia phones xD, and one of the things I miss more is the "selective color" effect, mainly to get photos like this ones
You pick a object in the screen, and just shows the color of that thing (and all the things with that color) and every other thing is in gray scale, first picking blue

and then green
U know if there's an app in the samsung camera that can do something like that? there is a effect called "Orange Kiss" but only shows orange/red things and can't be modified, so that one nope
If can't be in samsung camera, another app that u know that can be make something similar?
thanks in advance guys!
I think the Camera360 app has the selective color capability. You can check it out.

Thanks dude!
I found it, is called Magic Color filter, it does almost the same but on a predeterminated "effects" (U can't select the object u want), is good but not as Sony's, hope somebody else knows another one, but this is good too, thanks bro!
Anyone knows if using a different camera software will make lower quiality photos? I mean, I don't think samsung let another apps use their software process.....

Blinking dot under selfie camera appears on custom ROMs (just lockscreen)

Hi! I have a Galaxy A40 and i didn't had that problem with the stock rom, altough i read that even the stock system can producate the same issue.
I'm on the crDroid 9.0 Android 13 (the rom is incredibly good though). In the past i've tried other custom ROMs and a few of them had that issue but not just in the lockscreen but systemwide.
Fortunately in that case the dot blinks only on the lockscreen, and its not that visible with a darker wallpaper but it's still annoying.
(I've also noticed that if [not in the lock screen] the screen has a brighter image front of the sensor the auto brightness goes up and if it has a darker image front of it, the brightness will go down... It's maybe not the case and I saw that wrong but hey, idk.)
I have two questions about it, I would be grateful if anyone could help! :3
1.) IS IT BAD FOR THE HARDWARE?
Its maybe a stupid question but a constant flickering is not a calming thing thats for sure...
2.) IS THERE A WAY TO SOLVE THAT PROBLEM?
Are there fixes? Flashable zips, apps, mods or anything that is should try to make that disappear? Or I just shouldnt have light backgrounds anymore?

It's required for the proximity sensor which is mounted behind the screen and needs the black dot to see through (I think!). Sadly doesn't look like it's fixable but it doesn't harm or cause issues other than it being a but annoying to look at. I think the flash we are all getting in these open source ROMs is a workaround for not knowing the exact matching frequency of the sensor.
