[Q] List of apps that can be uninstalled/disabled safely - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
May i know what is the list of applications to uninstall/disable for SM-G900F (S5) ? Cause i see that there are a lot of default apps in it... and they seem pretty useless to me so i am not sure if uninstalling it might cause problem for the phone..
And this is a noob question, i see that 'Google search' uses the most data for my phone so i was wondering if i could stop/uninstall the feature.. o.o or if there are other ways to do it..
Thank you.

There are quite a few existing threads that answer all of your questions.
Search for "bloat" or "debloat" regarding apps safe to remove. Or just see what was removed in the description of a custom ROM e.g. the S5 Phoenix ROM.
And there have been threads on taming Google now to conserve battery and reduce data use. Look in my post history if a regular search doesn't easily find them for you.

I am going to root my phone soon, have a question.

What can't I uninstall when I root it? I saw that you can't uninstall virtual voicemail cause it is tied into the system, need to know the others.
What major things should I uninstall when I do root it?
I don't any of the bloatware applications at all.
I removed Visual Voicemail and haven't had any problems.

It all comes down to a matter of opinion and need. What do you personally use. Do a search and you'll find that some people have found that the bloatware for some things like the pre-loaded Slacker Radio and Layar may prompt you to pay. So if you want those, remove them and install the normal ones from the market to get the free versions. If you go to the top of the Vibrant General forum there is a Tips & Tricks thread started by s15274n. Search for the word Bloat. He links to a great topic on removing Bloatware where you can find tons of advice and peoples opinions on what they have removed.

Super Secure s6 edge

hey guys there are soooo many different forums here and i dont have time to search out proper threads
i just need to know if its possible to make my phone much more secure by rooting or deleting apps. I dont like apps sharing my info or locations.
all i need or want is the camera, some kind of map navigating service preferably not google, alarm clock, calculator, talk and text for 99 % of my planned use
and maybe a secure browser for last 1%
i dont need email[samsung]s planner, music or video player, s health, galaxy appsfacebook or any other social media, samsung gear, smart wallet, microsoft apps, google apps, chrome, telus apps, or any other apps that share any of my info
do i just delete apps?
do i need to root first?

ok will that stop the phone from trying to update deleted apps or trying to reinstall them or whatever errors i got last time i tried this on my samsung s3?
can you recomend a google map replacement?
what about secure texting thats compatible with everyone elses stock text app?
sorry, I do not want to be rude, but
questions belong to the q/a forum, not here in general!
it is VERY impolite to ask such questions with the remark you "dont have time to search"!

My Places

How do I disable it? Every time I turn off location it comes up with a warning saying My Places need location on to work. Is there a way to totally disable My Places as I suspect it's draining my battery?
Install Package Disabler Pro from the Play Store and disable it.

Thanks for that. I keep seeing people using it. Does it actually noticeably improve battery life?
Yes... assuming you don't go mad and start disabling everything. Also, don't use its inbuilt "disable bloat" option. It is too severe.
There are threads here where people post their .xml files and you can see what they have disabled, or even import their settings. Everyone's choices will be different however.
It is easy to re-enable apps if you find that you have lost functionality, or your battery life gets worse rather than better.
Here are some apps that some people have disabled

Oops. I've just installed it and used the one touch option to disable all the bloatware. But I've gone and enabled what I need afterwards again. It's the system apps I don't have a clue about so I guess I will have to wait and see. Do you know if there is a list of commonly disabled apps that people have used anywhere?
Yes, there is at least one. I saw a thread two or so days ago, I have just have a quick search but cannot see it currently.
Everyone has a slightly different outlook however. I just disable Samsung stuff I have no use for watch manager stub etc and Facebook stuff. I disable Google Play Games and Movies.
I don't disable any Google framework or system stuff.
I use Nova and therefore disable Touchwiz Home and Easy Home. It's logical when you think about it. If you don't use S Health, disable it.
You can undo the disable bloatware option if you want to.

Uninstalling Huawei Watch stock app(s) question

If I uninstall the com.huawei.dailytracker so that I only have Google Fit does anyone know if this will cause stability issues with the device? Would it be better to just leave them altogether?
I'm essentially looking to do what I did with rooting, uninstalling any bloatware or unneeded apps. In this case the Huawei activity tracker and Google Fit are doing the same thing and taking up battery while running simultaneously.
There is a Huawei Watch dedicated XDA forum where is easier to ask and find the answers:

How to permanently disable Bixby without rooting?

Hi, first post here.
Before you say it, I searched these forums and tried Google, but I couldn't get the answer that I was looking for (or even find a topic on this issue, for that matter).
Basically- I hate Bixby and I've been trying to uninstall it since I got my phone. It puts so many apps on your phone that take up a tonne of space and use up lots of valuable resources and data.
I don't want to simply disable the Bixby button, I want all the apps gone.
I tried disabling them, clearing data and cache and even disallowing all of the permissions for the apps but none of that works. The apps will all be disabled for a day or two but then they all magically re-enable themselves again, somehow. Why is this? Couldn't that be considered malware?
Anyone have any ways of getting rid of all this without going down the rooting route?
Thank you!
I use adhell 3, it have package disabler, its not uninstalling them but disable them, and seems its not running in background, its good enough for me, also it have adblocker and etc, no root needed, you can find it in gitlab.
