I know this topic is not popular and most people may skip over it but please read. I am NO expert when it comes to this so if anybody can help out it would be most appreciated. I have a T-mobile My touch 4g( NOT the slide version) running ginger bread 2.3.4. I wanted to play a game called "Clash of clans" but it says i need firmware 4.1 or higher. I was bummed because T mobile stopped making upgrades for this phone a long time ago. I saw online from different threads and videos that I need to downgrade the firmware and go back to fre3vo 2.2. OK i'm fine with that. I had no Idea how adb worked so I saw a post on xda this site how to use it for dummies. I now know how to. I followed ALL steps from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178912 on how I should go about this process. Everything went smooth up until the "Downgrading steps." I finally learned how to place the zip file named "PD15IMG.zip" in the root of sd card. Ok i had it. I also followed the manual downgrade routine. The phone went into boot-loader mode. The phone scanned the file and that took maybe 2 min before it asked me to update. I hit yes to update. I waited for the phone to update then it shut off. I guess the phone restarted to a black screen. The only thing I could see was the top portion bar where the battery and time info is. The rest of the screen was completely black. I took the battery out thinking that maybe the phone just needed to be restarted and this was the worst thing to happen. I turned the phone on and now the screen will NOT boot past the "t mobile mytouch 4g logo screen. I have no idea what to do from here. I went to go back to clockworkmod to see if i could repeat the process. The package scans like before then it asks me to update then I said yes. This is where the phone says its "updating" in pink letter on the side but NO progress is being made. Nothing happens and the phone seems unresponsive. I took the battery out and went back to clockworkmod. I tried to hit 'Factory Reset' but it just stays highlighted on factory reset and it wont move up and down. Nothing works. I took the battery out and re tried clockworkmod. I tried hitting recovery and then a "phone with a "green arrow" below shows up then the screen goes black and the phone vibrates 7 times then nothing else happens. I can no longer access the phone on my computer. Normally when I plugged it in the F: drive folder came up indicating I could change contents in the Sd card. I heard that you can change the setting using terminal and when i try typing "adb shell" it said it cannot find my phone and that my phone inst connected although it is connected to my computer. I have windows 7 Toshiba satellite so nothing is bad on the PC. Battery, cable, everything is fine no defects with the phone.
Also
A little information when ClockWorkMod is up. This is exactly what it says and this is exactly the color as it shows.

Since I can no longer access the phone on my pc I took the micro sim sd out and placed it in my samsung galaxy player 3.6 From there I can at least change what goes into the Sd card. I have searched countless hours and nothing else comes up. I CANNOT go back to the normal mode my phone used to be. I just freezes past mytouch4g screen. Please help anybody. I want to downgrade ginger bread 2.3.4 to fre3vo 2.2 so i can root and upgrade to jelly bean or something higher to play clash of clans since this phone wasn't compatable. Please somebody help. Can I ever use my phone again? Does this mean it's bricked? I'm an apple user so I have little experience with android. Somebody anybody help me out?

-It won't allow me to use the track pad I can only use the volume up and down buttons to scroll. What rom should I put on my sd card? If you have a link or something that would be great.. Also when I try to factory reset the phone just freezes. I don't know what to do.
any rom
That screen you posted information from is called H-BOOT, it's like the factory boot loader. Clockwork MOD will show up after that but from what I'm gathering you didn't even install that in the first place. In H-BOOT you can only use the volume buttons and the power button to select so that is all normal.
So you downloaded the stock ROM and in the process of downgrading got stuck. If the SD card still works in other devices do you still have PD15IMG.zip on the card?
Also did you make sure to download the proper drivers for ADB and also for your phone? The ADB ones you should be able to find on this forum and the HTC ones you could get directly from you carriers website, and most likely somewhere on this forum. It will be up to you to really read, read, read, but I don't mind point you in the right direction.
You will find links of information with in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2288189
I would read through s-off / s-on and true rooting. I feel like you're missing drivers and basically just have nothing installed on the phone. So you aren't bricked, you just need to do more research. Bricked is the phone shows no screen at all and won't even turn on. I've done it once, and you are luckily not there. I believe the first time I rooted this phone I had the same problem of "is it installing...did I miss something...eff it, battery pull...oh no!"
Also select the recovery option and let me know what happens, if it advances you to the next screen that is what is actually Clockwork Mod recovery. If you actually have that then we are even better. I'll keep checking back tonight for ya.

I see, you said the Recovery goes black and vibrates 7 times. Something didn't install right. At this stage of working with your phone you won't see the F: drive pop up until we fully get you downgraded and get the ROM operational.
See what you can do with this link. Follow it and even redownload items from it. It's more updated then the one you used.

My last thread attempt, and if this doesn't work. I'd say check out Craigslist for a new phone. My Glacier 4G antenna, the actual hardware, I believe is shot. So I'm going to have to down grade and run through a similar process so I can send it back for a replacement. These things can get tricky so I feel your bricked pain. I've bricked a Motorola Atrix before.

Hi Guys!
Just wanna know if there is/are any of you here happened to have a full backup rom of the ALCATEL ONE TOUCH POP C7 (7040E).
512MB memory
4GB internal
8MP back cam
vga front
QUAD Core 1.3GHz
I've been googling around and couldn't find any stock rom for that device.
I also contacted alcatel if they have any stock rom for that device but nothing.
The device is an MT6582.
I tried flashing custom rom out there with mt6582 but not working.
Thanks and looking forward guys
Issue Solved!
Guys!
I have solved the issue about my phone and made a full backup of it using MTK and I'll be providing link here once it's totally done uploading.
This is for the ALCATEL ONE TOUCH POP C7 (7040E) phone - so not sure if this will work with other POP C7's of alcatel.
And also, I'm going to update this page from time to time of what other custom roms available for this kind of phone since this phone has little to no support at the moment.
Cheers

If your device is a 7040T (Qualcom) then it is a very different beast from a 7040E (MTK) ... the tool the OP is using is NOT meant for this device. In fact the SOC used in 7040T is a MSM8212 and its bootloader is locked (you cannot get to bootloader mode - only default recovery is allowed if at all) so unless someone finds a vulnerability to bypass the bootloader, we're out of luck.
I have done extensive research on this and thus far there are NO solutions, even to root the 7040T.

Dude , if you want the stock ROM for your Alcatel, just go to Alcatel's own website and download their firmware update software called ALCATEL MOBILE UPGRADE S. I have version 4.3.1 on my laptop. You can update any Alactel phone with its latest STOCK ROM.
You can find the download link here on Alcatel's site: http://www.alcatelonetouch.com/global-en/support/download/one_touch_pixi.html
So you don't really need to backup your system partition, only your data partition! If you soft-brick your Alcatel phone (which I have done before), you can recover with Alcatel's firmware upgrade tool.

Hello i did eventually find a stock ROM for the POP C7 but here's the thing. the USB Debugging is disabled, i only have the stock recovery loading up when i try to press power and volume up, i tried wiping the cache, clearing the data, since i have no access to the usb, i tried flashing a rom via sd, but it still says installation incomplete or i migh t be wrong of the exact term but the install does not go thru. THis is just driving my nuts, all because the phone fell down and started bootlooping.

i am New to this site as well as new to flashing or even having issues of this nature
so let me explain the issue
i was given this phone as a dead phone due to being dropped turned out to be a loose battery connection but now the phone is alive
here is the score after finally getting the phone to charge the phone fired up it goes as far as stating ( Alcatel onetouch Pop C7 ) on the display then shuts down it then on its own restarts shows the same alcatel logo and shuts down this is a constant loop over and over again
i have found how to get into the android system recovery mode when in this mode it will stay on without any restart and i can freely choose options without any issue
what i have done so far is reset to factory sadly this has not resolved the issue of the constant on and off at startup logo
in recovery mode i see options for restore from ADB , Restore from ADB SD card and restore from ADB cache
also format cache and restore from cache and the last in the list is enable ADB
as i am new to this i would like some instructions or some advice to may point to why the phone is going to Logo and then switching off and on repeatedly if it needs to be flashed could someone help me with the download of a stock rom and instructions to do the flash
to flash the phone i think it needs to be done from the recovery mode because when connecting to my laptop the laptop sees the phone and constantly disconnecting and reconnecting same as the Logo appearing on the phone
for those who can advise or help i thank you in advance
have a nice day all

Hi Lee,
The easiest way to reflash a working system onto your phone is to download the Mobile Upgrade S official software from Alcatel. Their website is www.alcatelonetouch.com. Just search for your phone model. When you find it, select the Support tab and you'll see the download link for Mobile Upgrade S 4.2 there. (Or you can Google search directly for Mobile Upgrade S).
Download, unzip and run the software. Follow the on-screen instructions. It's as simple as that.
Let us know how it goes.

Have you resolved this? If not, boot into recovery mode then do a wipe/factory reset. After the reset, choose to reboot the system now. It would take a while (a couple minutes) to boot up. Does that do the trick.
If your screen still looks scrambled and hangs up, it is possible that your display screen (and in some cases, the touch digitizer) is damaged and needs to be replaced.
These Alcatels are really easy to unbrick.

These Alcatels are really easy to unbrick (if you have the stock ROM available, or if you have access to another working version of that model).

OK so I am getting rather confused trying to go back and forth between various threads. The short version is I meticulously followed the steps in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
Sadly when I attempted to reboot the phone nothing appears to happen. Previously Windows didn't recognize the phone and only SLAX of the various VMs I tried recognized it. Now SLAX can't see it and Windows (and thus VMWare Player) is aware of it only as QHSUSB__DLOAD. No Linux flavor I tried will mount it as /dev/sd... . I could really use some help here as I am not sure where to go at this point...Thanks...
I should mention I have a Verizon LG G2.
How disheartening....I was really hoping for some input...and wondering what QHSUSB__BULK really means.
Go to this thread and see if there might be any info that can help your situation, there are a few different solutions for your type of problem

Here is couple of links that might help as well

How you get it back running, good luck
Good thoughts. First link doesn't seem to apply and the second one I already tried to no avail. Followed it line by line and rebooted the phone and now am stuck in Q...BULK mode. Can't even get the phone to power on. VZW is sending me a warranty phone replacement which is nice and all but there's stuff on the phone I'd rather not lose but it looks like I have no choice. However the phone is rooted so I'm naturally leery of sending it back but since it won't even power on I'm not sure how they'd know.
Yeah it definitely sucks to lose your personal things that are in the phone and that's the downside of a phone with no sd card. I figure if they do try and plug it in to see if it's rooted it will look like an emmc failure or something of that sort. I understand you being leery but i don't think you have anything to worry about as far as Verizon catching that it's rooted. Good luck my friend
Only reason I ever rooted to begin with was to use TB for backups. I do have a set of backups from maybe 3 or 4 days ago, but it's still annoying.
...speaking of the replacement, now I have to decide between Towel and ioroot and am not sure which is preferrable...
Hey guys, i need your help please.
My Lg G2 D802 goes only in download mode and i cant proceed with flashing recovery or anything because the MTP driver fails to be installed correctly.
The background of this is that i installed a marshmallow ROM it all went fine and booted. But then i realized that my recovery wasn't supported anymore so i had to install a newer one. That means that although i managed to install marshmallow with an old recovery, i could not get my phone into recovery after marshmallow booted normally. So i was trying to install a new recovery through bad apps and some windows programs. All i did was to soft brick my phone cause now the phone gets stuck in booting logo. I manage to get into download mode and connect it to windows 7 64 bit and windows 10 64bit but the MTP driver wont install correctly. I have tried a bunch of drivers and versions. Non work. So i cant use the LG windows tools.
I must add that fastboot hasnt worked also. Maybe i havent tried it in the correct way.
Please give me a way to proceed fixing my phone from download mode.
Same thing happened to me. Some guys say that it could only be recovered with J-tagging. Please someone share some kind of experience. Phone lays down with running LG logo, nothing else..

J Tagging is a professional thing with special equipment and a thorough knowledge of hardware / software. So try to find some pros who can handle it, and, of course it is not free..:crying:

My LG G2 had a nicely running ICEX ROM Final with TWRP recovery. Why on earth I thought of putting that f***king Optimus G3 ROM instead. It was installed, but right after, went bootlooping like crazy. Now I sent the phone for J-tag. I will have to wait another 2 weeks, if it can be recovered at all...
I am sure that J-tagging is not necessary. There must be a work around this MTP driver. How should i use the fastboot? Can i use google drivers of some sort?

Maybe you can try this extensive method. I wish I had seen this before I sent G2 for repairs.

Bought a secondary essent, figuring if I was going to brick up something, better to brick up a 20$ cracked up POS than my day to day user.
Everything was going as planned, didnt use the 15 second loader used the platform tools...
unlocked her, added BMG's twerp file....there's my mistake...I didnt rename the file.
As I wrote that I realized that.
Cannot get the device to reconize thru adb tools but windows see's her as Meta(or something) tried the different commands but adb doesnt see it.
Cannot turn phone off, tried volume up down power every which way,,,,
Big white lock on the 'keep system on read only screen" and cannot move....in any fashion.
Help me if ya can please,,,phone is at 84%....maybe just letting her die off?
back to bootloader and
I am not sure what sequence of buttons did it, but it was not a rename problem, its a unresponsive twerp problem. Using the original twerp has not accounted for the updates this phone has gone thru....I think BMG got one that a bit more "user friendly"....so I will keep trying with this 20$ phone....also in any of the "tutorials there is mention of an A/B partition but no instruction on it...learning on the fly...

Hold power longer than 10 seconds (hard reboot) then volume down and it'll boot bootloader. From there flash a working boot image with working TWRP patched for the Rom you are on.

First and foremost,,,,
THANKS FOR THE REPLIES AND ADVISE.
Got up, drank a cup, dragged a brush across me head...booted up bootloader, hit on recovery mode and now back to square one with the latest pie flavor.
Sometimes you "over work" the problem.
As a mechanic I sometime got "stuck" and instead of getting frustrated, I simply walked away and came back to it, only to find (as with this) a simple solution.
I am expecting a tv box (PIE, 4 and 64)....should be a head scratcher.
Great forum, good peeps...MANY THANKS!
