I have a rooted Note 3 AV 4.3 MN SM-N900W8, I rooted without issue with the CF autoroot, now I know there is the new 4.4 kitkat update but I can not auto update without unrooting, What I am looking for is recommendations from others as to what they did to update (either unrooting or rom install) and if your willing could you tell me what you did and include any links to ROMs you used etc,
Thanks so much

i ussually update by flash new rom. What you need is Odin 3.09:http://odindownload.com/
and ROM: Lastest NB7 4.4.2 for bell cananda(sm-n900W8):http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=26653
Make sure u turn REACTIVATON OFF and tick at USB debugging box
Sammobile dont have old 4.3 rom. And if they even had it, I am not sure would I brick it by downgrading. Can somebody just say easiest way of rooting and installing latest cwm possibly without tripping knox.
Thanks in advance, damn online update kk did not even ask for permission to upgrade.
I'm on G900FXXU1BOA3 5.0 Lollipop and I want to root without tripping KNOX. I found this on reddit and want to know if it will work

Thanks
No, Towelroot only works with KK prior to June 3rd iirc
It says you downgrade to a firmware with a kernel that works with towelroot before you do anything
You still need to be running KK - you can't flash a KK Kernel on Lollipop
Downgrading the Kernel is only if you are running a KK ROM build later than June
Hi.
Question, is there a way to root 5.0 (stock) without tripping knox?
Tried to search\google it, nothing came up.
It's very important to me not to set off knox I still have warranty.
please help :fingers-crossed:
Device model SM-G900F
Nope not really
There was some info about downgrading to KK and rooting with towelroot, then using Mobile ODIN Pro to inject root into a stock Lollipop ROM and upgrade that way, never got that working myself though
No way to directly root stock Android 5 on the Galaxy s5 without tripping knox. However, you can downgrade to a stock 4.4. ROM and then use Towelroot. Afterwards you flash Alexandr's prerooted Lollipop ROM. There are guides everywhere, you could use this one for example https://www.reddit.com/r/galaxys5/comments/2ubsbs/guide_rooted_android_50_for_the_international/

Thanks!
Can I just downgrade to 4.4, root it and leave it like that without upgrade it back to 5.0?
Yes, you can. No one is forcing you to use Lollipop. I find this thread very useful: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-root-triggering-knox-2nd-method-t2843044
If you just want to use towelroot on 4.4. follow the root instructions and do not flash the Lollipop firmware afterwards.
Dear Friends,
I am owner of 910U device on L , rooted and with TWRP.
To update MM, I was going to flash Offical firmware of MM 6.0.1 , to have latest modem bootloader.
But we do not have root or CF auto root, for MM yet. So I cannot root and re flash TWRP (as I think)
However, I have seen some people on forum that have MM on 910U device, with root.
So I was wondering, Is it possible to keep root and twrp while flashing orginal firmware?

As far as I know, there is not root method for marshmallow yet. I flashed the original firmware which reverted root.
I'm on MM, but 910H model. I took a chance and flashed 5.1.1 cf auto root from chainfire, for the 910H and it worked. Just rooted, no custom rom. No problem whatsoever. Smooth as butter.
Thank you all. I did. thanks to @djmax
1- I Flashed, modem and sboot of 6.0.1, over L firmware. System was working.
2- I flashed erobot firmware of 6.0.1
3- flashed SUSE MAX kernel of djmax work for 910U
4- rebooted, : had no signal, no superuser, noise crash for calls..
5-Flashed modem, sboot again for 910U
6-flashed super sU zip 2.71 from chainfire
7- flashed noise fix for 910 U
8- flashed SMSfix from erobot..
