It seems LG has decided to release LG G3 with snapdragon 805 for other markets from South Korea in Q4 of this year. Hope this news is real.

The articel nowhere states, that the lg g3 with the 805 soc will be released outside of korea in q4, it just states that there will be more variations with the g3 "branding" in q4 and that lg wants to expand the availability of the g3 (without specifying any timeframe or variant ).

Q4 is too late. They should make it with 805 in the first place, and in Q4 I'll be buying Nexus 6 with SD810 already. :highfive:

Agreed. The OP must not understand the basics of punctuation or sentence structure at all.. The only thing the article says about the G3 Cat 6 variant ( the one with the 805 processor) is that it has already been released......

No, since LG became the Nexus line manufacturer Nexus phones always had latest hardware. Nexus 4 even was the first phone with latest S4 Pro at the moment, because the very first Optimus G at that time had being selling only in SK, and in US it had hit stores later than Nexus 4 hit Google Play. Same with N5, it got latest SD800. So Nexus 6 will got 810, unless of course Google won't give the Nexus brand to be manufactured by Lenovo. In that case Nexus will suuuuuuuuuuck

You don't comprehend one thing, the upcoming Android L is 64bit OS and device it will see the light on must use 64bit SoC. So i can BET Nexus 6 will got 810 SD, it will hit shelves around late November-early December, the time first batches of 810 will leave factories. The first device with SD805 is SGS5 and it showed up mid-July, so half a year later is perfect time for the next SoC to arrive. And I'm pretty sure that LG by November will bring newer G Pro 3, to compete with Note 4, and G Pro 3 as well as Nexus 6 will be powered by 810
The beginning of 2015 is the time when all other vendors at MWC'15 will show new line of '15yr flagships powered by new Android L 5.0 it is not the time when production of 810 start. The 810 will be ready around October I guess

That may be true but the n5 can run android l and it doesn't support 64bit. Lets say they will launch the nexus 5 with sp 810 and 64bit, it is still going to have crappy speakers and battery life. Not only that, it will probably have a 5'2 screen, which is a lot smaller than the G3. If the nexus 6 happens to be better than the G3 than I will consider of getting one. I don't see any point in running 64bits yet either. Performance on 64 bits will be (slightly) worse for years to come, like it was worse for years on the pc

The Optimus G came out first. The DNA also was released the same day, and that's not counting the fact that few people could get their hands on the Nexus 4 for a long time. The Nexus 4 also was inferior to the Optimus G (hardware wise) to keep the price low, which Google likes to do.
The original Nexus was the best for a tiny bit, but then the Incredible came out and was superior. Choosing the Nexus line tends to be choosing software and price over hardware.
The Optimus G is a nice phone but we are still stuck on Jelly Bean 4.1.2

No, Optimus G was released in the US first - AT&T version released November 2, Sprint released it November 11. The DNA and Nexus 4 were released November 13 of the same year.
Also, the fact that the Nexus 4 didn't have LTE made it inferior to a lot of other phones like the GS3 anyways. Doesn't matter how fast the cpu is if the Internet connection is slow, unless all you do is local gaming. It's like a laptop with a i7 and only a A/B/G wifi card, and no ethernet port.

Sprint and AT&T have forsaken us. Since Sprint is CDMA, AOSP roms are a pain because of PRL and data issues. I use a custom debloated rom called OpTimuS DE which has G2 launcher, dialer and keyboard. I hope we get KitKat soon so Lrod can cook up something nice.

It's not to much the 'nothing to fret' about.. it's knowing that HTC will keep up to date with .. updates lol
I think they want things to change in 2013 though so maybe they will
Htc has a smaller company than most so it's not as easy to direct resources to updates but I'm sure they will.

Photosphere is an AOSP feature on which even if HTC upgrades to 4.2 it still won't be available. Gesture typing is already existing on HTC keyboards since 2011 I think. Lockscreen widgets is an AOSP feature also and won't come to HTC since HTC uses a sense lockscreen.
So yeah 4.2 is pretty much useless unless you're using AOSP.

That's fair enough then Don't google release the source code etc to HTC/Sony/Samsung etc... and they then just tweak the functions to work with their phones? I thought that's how it worked
been waiting 7 months since HTC stated that the One X would be getting JB, and still no light at the end of that tunnel. Pretty sure when they unveiled the One X last year they were going to update software more often, but two new "flagship" phones released since then and still no update. Do not buy HTC thinking they will update to new android versions. They do make great hardware, so root and have a great device.

? We got 4.1.1 by now, which is JellyBean. If you don't have your update yet on your carrier, that's probably not HTCs fault.
Yet I agree it took them a bit long to release it. And yes, keep in mind that HTC is a rather small company, unlike Samsung. Let's just hope that they are a bit more conservative with phone releases this year - and I'm rather hopeful as the One was the only phone they introduced at the event (unlike 3 phones last time). More will follow for sure, nobody should doubt that and that's not a bad thing. Just please not 3 versions of the same phone etc., that'd be great.

Carrier is ATT (only carier in the US that offered the One X), which I have no doubt shares some of the blame. But honestly, a few months after telling their customers that the ATT version of the One X would get 4.1, they release the One X+ on ATT with 4.1, now here comes yet another HTC phone with 4.1. For such a small company, they sure pop out a ton of hardware. (Since the release of the Galaxy SIII, how many "Flagship" devices has Samsung released?) That all just goes to my point, dont buy an HTC phone assuming they will update to a new version of Android in a timely manner if at all.
HTC's problem for updates I guess stems from the fact they make so damn many!!
If they keep their line up simple for 2013 it will be more manageable, 1-2 low end, 1-2 mid range, 1 flagship. Who needs to release a phone every other month, it's insane lol
For example:
On the UK site HTC have the following
HTC One
HTC One SV
HTC One X+
HTC Desire X
HTC 8X
HTC 8S
HTC Desire C
HTC One X
HTC One XL
HTC One S
HTC One V
JB 4.2 work amazing :good:
Maybe it will quick updated to Android 4.2, but I think the time is at least after the release of Android 5.0.
They won't update the HTC One. They will release the HTC One+ in 3 months anyway with JB 4.2.2
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2

If you bought a locked one X then HTC are not to be blamed, they promised 4.1.1 which they delivered.

Suprised they didnt ship it with 4.2.1 atleast since its been out for a while now. Plus they probably received jellybean 4.2 months ago since google sends out the software months before its released.. But i guess it was buggy just my guess, so they used 4.1.2 .

There are more that were released in the US running android and under the galaxy range. Doesnt matter about releasing loads of devices as much, they just need to keep the emphasis on the flagships.
I have been waiting for the Nexus 7 2, also referred to Nexus 7.2 aka Nexus 7 HD since the rumours started.
I was very disappointed when in may it wasnot announced as expected. Almost at the end of June, we still have no confirmation
Last week, two Asus devices, the K008 and K009, were discovered listed under Bluetooth SIG and FCC certifications. Although the Asus device isn't confirmed as Google's Nexus 7 2 tablet, the coincidence is a large one. The Nexus tablet is expected to be released to the public in July, and the filing was dated to June.
This is going to be a heck of tablet with excellent features.
Latest rumours are :
Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor
2GB Ram
Android 4.3
Front 1.3 MP camera & 5MP rear camera
1080p resolution
16/32 Gb variants without SD card
LTE support would be added
Price is expected to be 200-250 US dollars.
With all this attraction and everything, I am googling at least ten times a day about new articles written about it.
Anyone has any more to say or waiting as patiently as me ?
I just want to know, is it just me or there are others like me ?
Do post your views and experiences of Nexus 7 !
Yeah im waiting too. Got my missus birthday on the 21st of July and was going to get her a Nexus 7 till i heard about the Nexus 7 2. I will be pissed if it comes out just after i buy another Nexus 7. (I already have one).

I saw this leaked pic on GSM Arena from IFA. Rumor has it that it was one of the demo phones.. I dont think they would put a pre-production build on a demo device. I hope it fixes the little issues such as the SIM read issue and improves battery life. It wasnt terrible but it isnt quite what 4.2.2 was.
Being said it looks like Sense 5.5 WONT be released (initially) with 4.3, but it is great to see fast updates from OEM's while running skins.

Updated with tweets from LlabTooFeR:
@LlabTooFeR About 4.3 update for HTC One. It will have 2 waves, first wave 3.1x.xxx.x builds will be released in US with Sense 5.0 on board
@LlabTooFeR Second wave is for international HTC One with 4.3 and Sense 5.5 (not confirmed yet). So anyway first update 4.3 + 5.0 and second 4.3 + 5.5..
@LlabTooFeR Anyway all current devices (HTC One, One mini, Butterfly S) will get 5.5 at some point after release of HTC T6.
@LlabTooFeR I don't have any details about Sense 5.5.. HTC is really strict about Sense, see what happened with those designer guys...
Pocketnow has it in a video on a red one as well
video.
It's been stated that the update will be by the end of September so this does make sense, I can't remember the leak build number to see if it's newer or older. What I want is multiple lock screen widgets.
Is the next sense version going to be 5.5 or 6. I read about htc Designers Leaving HTC For New Company Interrogated For Expense Fraud and Stealing Sense 6.0 Trade Secrets. Either way i think that the new sense update will come with the One Max on release then to our One.

You have to take into consideration the carriers who will slow things down and over bloat it.
Mackenzie says he hopes to have ALL ones updated by end of September so it might have gotten sent to the carriers already or real soon so they can overbloat it and send it out by the end of the month, t-mobile might take the longest as they didn't have faith in the phone when it was launched that's why only the silver one is available through t-mobile, it's selling well but they favor Samsung

Sprint has black too, I spoke to someone from an htc kiosk who also worked at tmobile and he told me straight up tmobile didn't think the phone would be a top seller so there were stores that didn't order a large quantity but were wiped out once it was released, and this is true because that was the case in my area when I was in a tmobile store I over heard workers telling customers that it was sold out in 15 mins of release and that they had ordered a small quantity, fast forward a month later when I exchanged the iphone 5 for the one and that was still the case for some stores I called asking if it was in stock and the worker's at a couple different stores told me it was sold out and they order small quantities, they have special sections for the iphone and a big Samsung section but they lump the one next to phones like the cheap Nokia lumia model or the ghetto mytouch lol so there's my point

iirc 8888 are perfomance test builds, we saw one for 422 too a while back but the final build was higher still (2.19.8888.1 final release 2.24.401.1 iirc)

It doesn't matter when HTC drops the update, even if they did it today if your on AT&T or Verizon you will be lucky to see it by the end of the year. AT&T is horrific about updates, took them almost a year to put jellybean on the Note. If AT&T gets the one max before the end of the year you won't see official 4.3 for a very long time if ever.

I understand what your saying but AT&T could care less about the end users, the 5s and note3 are dropping any time now and if the max hits soon after that's all she wrote as far as official builds, will we see official 4.3 yes but not till end of year or first of next year. It's not HTC it's the carriers.

Android marshmallow update is going to be the life saviour for most of us, who ain't using cm 13, nor 12 ...... Well i am using echoe rom
But the main thing is that lollipop was not good and ruined the experience for most of us but now we will have marshmallow out and after a long wait we will get it in our hands within a month or so
Well there is a leak for marshmalow 6.0.1 running in zenfone 2 laser and soon zenfone 2 will also get it as it is their flagship. Hopefully the leak is true, and it looks like it's one of their employees who has leaked it.(he has the rog laptop ??)

Z00MD = Zenfone 2 Laser ZE600KL
This variant came with Snapdragon 615, and about Snapdragon, a lot of devices are on Marshmallow.
ZE550/551 still waiting for M. I think they will skip Feb security update and give us M with March/April update.
You guys are dreaming you won't see M for at least another year, ASUS can't even get past 5.0, out devices will all be dead before they figure out m

LOL Wanna bet?
Glad to know that ASUS is really working on providing Android 6.0.1 , but shouldn't Asus's first priority be the Intel variants (Ze551ml/Ze550ml) than the Snapdragon ones?
Yeah I look forward to the big M but if it doesnt come I'm just fine with L. Asus has been really good with their updates, not just firmwares but also updating our apps.
Echoe rom by far was the best stock based rom , so yeah even i can wait a month or couple for a good marshmallow build , hope it is gelatin free

ASUS has been very good withvupdate. While the update takes longer time to launch, bit in the end we will get it. So patience is the key. Everybody should know this before the buy an intel based chipset.

The updates are cosmetic bull...., there has not been a significant update in more than 6 months, and I stand by my statement the ZenFone will never get the M update till at least a year after N is released, the last 4 updates errr ridiculous in scope and added nothing to generational effectiveness of the phone. I was entirely ready to go 100% ASUS, but my experience with the support on this phone has guaranteed ASUS will never realize another from me for any equipment, I am likely to switch all my future phone purchases to LG or just go straight Nexus from this point forward. Just my humble opinion.

Your dreamin, they are just starting beta testing and that'll take them 6 months to a year or more, he'll they haven't even mastered 5.1 to this point so figuring out 6 is likely beyond their skill level, but hey you can dream..... good luck with that.

Well hope the best and wait for MM update to be bug - free or else with new, better insipred(from CM,Miui) features
I do not want any gimmicks all i want is aome smart and innovative stuff , like taking screenshot on pressing recent key is innovative af (i think even cm does not has that option in long press, i used only cm12 in s3 , so i have not used it much)
I love asus for what they are doing and i do not care for upgrades if some one has made a stock based awesome rom(echoe rom)
Asus is love, intel is what i do not love(for gpu, development, no image enhancement and no battery effeciency)(820 is best this year)

You should understand it's not easy to make roms and being new to it , it takes times to adjust , they are giving their best to give us the best MM update and with ironed out bugs too , hopefully it will happen , but i doubt intel for its efficiency and without using good kernels its far to get good battery and awesome performance together (you have to loose one generally but not in good kernels)
Its not about mastering 5.1 also , its about developing good base for future updates and with poor planing and development it will be hard , they should divide their team and do kick-ass development.
Do not be a jerk , by *****ing them for their only flaw, slow updates.
Intel is good except for weak gpu , lack of elements like enhanced imaging , battery or even sound quality ,these all are found in QC and MTK but often priced higher than intel

From kitkat to lollipop, yes what most people know it was only cosmetic. Not for me tough. But from 32 to 64 bit? Not really. Itll optimize zenfone 2 and might unlock the power within it. I cant say much about asus wouldnt release android M, well.. the beta is out on march. Lookin at the history, when asus releases beta, itll be followed with the actual thing. Its just a matter of time really. Asus isnt the fastest in rolling update, but it is a definite that update will come. You are the fast - update kinda person i suppose. Well if its what u want, you are right. You better stick with nexus.

x86 architechture is just a little worse with Android. If devs can figure out something for x86 and make a badass kernel then what's better than that? Or if all the applications and Android itself could be complile for both arm and x86 then x86 doesn't require arm code translator(libhoudini) which lacks performance.
OPO was the device that made oneplus what it is today, don't we deserve a small update that would complete our phone from the software perspective?
We are always given the argument that our hardware isn't voLTE capable, each one of us knows that voLTE is a software feature.
Let's tweet to Carl Pei (link below) with hashtag voLTE4OPO requesting voLTE update for OnePlus One, I've already done so. Let's also tell him we know voLTE is a software feature. It's your turn now. Tell your friends owning OPO about this initiative.
Also sign this petition -

Don't forget, 5 fingers make a fist, support of everyone reading this is needed. I'm quite sure we're still quite large in number together & our dream might come true if we work together ?
Thanks

We should get, even $45 phones today come with voLTE, and OPO is the first flagship which established the company, it is not acceptable if the ditch support to OPO. And it's not even 5 years since it was launched, how can you ditch your flagship product in 2 years?
Success or failure is another thing, atleast we can give a last shot. Who knows maybe they become kind for us ✌?

The 45$ phone you are talking about has launched in 2016. OnePlus one was launched in April, 2014.
Do you know how long that has been? 2 yrs, 9 months.
Tell me ONE phone, ANY ONE phone from ANY MANUFACTURER that has received support THIS late into its life. Not Samsung S series, not HTC One series, not Sony Xperia Z series, heck even the best manufacturer in update scenario, Motorola, abandons it's smartphones in 2 yrs. Don't fall into the misunderstanding that your so called tweets will get OnePlus onto its toes to give out an update to you. Do you see a phone called OnePlus X into its portfolio? It was launched in October, 2015 - 1y 6 months AFTER the launch of the One. That phone hasn't received a VoLTE update, and won't EVER. Come back from your dreamland, be a sport, either change your phone or live with the fact that One is a dead product.
Oh, and Carl is having a laugh at you right now for your efforts ?

I have no problems with that, but the thing is if the One had been that special, they would have shown it, like say, Oxygen OS might have been updated for it which never went past Android 5.1.1. In the end we have to respect Carl and his decision, OnePlus is after all a rational company with profit as its motive, whether they say it or not. And at this point, they have no point giving out an update to a phone that has a lot less number of users or that won't rake in even one cent for the company!

That's the point! Apple doesn't manufacture Android phones, had they been manufacturing androids, even they would have fallen in the same category as others!
Part of this update stopping is due to Google, they have given an official license to the OEMs to update phones for 2 years. Granted they mention 'at least 2 years', but the OEMs hardly care about at least, 2 year seems a reasonable time and hence they do not go beyond it. Due to the immense competition in Android world, there is very low margin on the android phones and OEMs hardly earn anything. So they expect you to bring business to them by buying a new smartphone, and not updating phones might motivate you to get a new one! If you compare the same with Apple, it is no secret that they have exorbitant profit margins on their iPhones and hence they can easily afford to support your phones for 4 years, because the support costs are already added to your iPhone's cost! So we should stop whining, and understand how businesses work!
