After update to 4.4.2 everything worked like a charm for like 2 weeks and then problems started. First battery went to hell then i bought another one and after that my screen started to act strange. I can hear the sound in background and phone works when i try to call myself over the other phone but i can't se a S**t. I tried to downgrade back to 4.2.2 because how i saw the other people have same problem but they resolved it with Removing widget and put clock etc. I even try to put Cyanogenmod because i thought it's software faulth but same problems over and over. So i can't restart the only way to reset is to remove battery and somethimes even that samsung animation doesn't show but sound works. Anyone knows anything about it. And yea i don't have any app installed.

I got my streak a few weeks ago and i love it, i was a bit disappointed with the battery life, but no big problem.
Suddenly yesterday i could not hear anything from the phone speaker, it worked fine on speaker phone. So i backup my stuff and hit factory reset (as on the dell site!)
After a few minutes of it doing it thing it rebooted and stopped at the dell logo
So i removed my sd card and tried again, same thing
Finally i found a link to download the dell rom (in pkg format) but i couldn't find the same build as i had before. I has 3883, now im running 4399 and all seems well again. In fact the battery life seems better!
Also i notice an extra button on the centre screen toggles (the one with wifi, gps etc) there is a auto brightness toggle.
I dont know what happened, but i thought id share my story!

Last week I got a week out of my battery...
I have build 3883.
If you wanna improve your battery, get a program called Task Manager, it gives you the option to auto kill running tasks or you can choose what to close...
Frozen after the restart, the DELL logo bothers me too. Mackay always different to the on there jumped to finalize, because I hear in the background does Dell. sometimes this works and displays correctly on screen.
I have had my desire he for a week now.
Though everything is fine, I'm having problems with the sound. It was working fine before but after a day or two it would randomly stop. After doing a hard reset to set factory defaults the sound would then work again.
Today the sound has stopped working again...
What is causing this? Could the phone be faulty or is it an app causing this?
The sound was working fine this morning but now there is no sound whatsoever.
All installed apps were previously used on my HTC desire & HTC hero and never did I receive any problems.
Anyone else had any similar problem or what may be causing this?
I need an answer soon guys. I just spoke to vodafone customer services regarding the sound problem. They are saying it's faulty and needs to be repaired.
However I'm sure it does not need to be repaired as doing a simple factory reset will fix the problem.
Could an app cause this issue and stop the sound working?
When I make a phone call, the loudspeaker works fine...
Why is loudspeakers/phone calls working for sound but system sounds/alarms/SMS/music or even videos have no sound.
If I was to do a reset it would then work again.
Anyone have any suggestions before I return the phone for repairs?
Taking the phone in for repairs is the last thing I wanna do.
I know this won't help, I have had issues when the Bluetooth dropped off while listening to Music (A2DP). At first I was re-booting the phone and the problem was solved, then I decided to switch off/on my Bluetooth device and phone connection and it worked okay. However on a couple of occasions the phone has mysteriously gone into "Silent Mode" and I have no idea what caused it?
This is most strange, does restarting your phone also fix the problem or do you always have to do a reset?
I've not heard of this problem before...
Does the sound stutter before it goes off and does the phone lag at all??
I really couldn't tell you but I thought I'd respond anyway before you take it for repair..
Also have you tried setting all sounds to zero and then back to max again...does that work??
Wonder if volume locker app would stop this, or at least it should tell you if the sound settings have changed and then revert them back....just a thought.
hello guys just to confirm you are not the only one with that problem out there... restarting the phone works for me though try that! but yes its definetley a bug i have also had the proximity problem, wifi doesnt work and heep of other stuff so ill be returning the handset in the next couple days!
either way good luck with yours!

Thanks for your reply. I had to do factory default twice on it to get the sound back.
Funny enough just now I held down the power button to restart the phone.
It then restarted and the sound is now working!
I do not know if it will stop working again or how long it will take for it to stop working again.
I will keep you all informed.
At the moment all I can say is the battery is terrible.
It was 75% this morning and now it's around 25% and it's only been around 2 hours...
Do you find the phone to be laggy??

I did at first find it very laggy, especially when browsing through pictures, it was sluggish and would take ages to load the pictures.
Now, after enabling the USB Debugging setting, it was a smooth as butter.
Sound is still working! Battery is now 18% when it was 80% this morning!
And another person with the same problem.
I am helping my friend with his DHD and today he announced that his phone has a similar issue (and he says that the small speaker - for making calls - is working). He is on a stock rom, but his phone was originally from 3.
Do you know of any custom ROMs with sence which don't have this issue?
Do you think it would be a good idea to contact HTC about that - who tried?
Do you have fast reboot on? If you do try disablin that and do a restart of the phone. Maby that helps

Thanks for advice, but it didn't work . Even tried taking out the battery. Do you know if it's possible to monitor your hardware components in Android?
hey guys i was using my X8 updated to 2.1 for a couple of weeks.
i used ADW launcher as home replacement..
accidently i uninstalled the ADW while using it..
so the phone became unstable for a few moments then it restarted by itself and kept on restarting till the lock screen was displayed, untill i did a battery pull.
so i tried updating the software again from the sony update service.
the upgrade was successful and told me to disconnect the phone from the USB.
after then i switched on my X8.
but then when the lock screen appeared the phone suddenly restarted itself.
and it kept on restarting every time it reached to the lock screen.
then i made a battery pull and removed my SIM card.
and this time i switched it on without the SIM and it worked !
the phone started as normal in 'no SIM' mode.
then i switched it off, inserted the SIM, switched on..
the same problem again..
then again after a battery pull i connected the phone to the charger (with the SIM still inserted) and it worked..!!
the phone did every thing it should normally.(played music, videos, installed apps from market and browser, etc)
but when i remove the charger, the phone display went off and then the same restart problem..
i have tried connecting the phone to the update service and re did the update process 3 times.
but the problem still remains..
can anyone help me out of this plzz ???
some one plzz help me out fast..
i need a phone for work.
currently i m using it without a SIM
anyone plzz tell me wat to do so it starts working with the SIM too.
i kinda experience this problem too, but its kinda different, the screen is all black(turned on) and i cant do anything about it, i tried to swipe to unlock and came back to homescreen
and i never used ADW launcher again. il stick to Launcher Pro.
why not install again ADW launcher when you can? it might fix the problem
getting nothing but FCs when installed ADW again
tried using launcher pro but it didnt work..
1 more thing i noticed now is dat the battery level changes every time the phone restarted..
like if its on 52% then it goes to 4% on the second restart, then suddenly to 100% on the third one..
you have the backup that you have to make when you update your software to 2.1? use them and he back to 1.6 . And next put the 2.1 again
i dont have the backup..
i went to the sony service center and they said that my X8 need a circuit change and it will take about 1 week..
i dont think a hardware part replacement is necessary so i didnt gave them my phone..
anyways i am thinking of switching to a better android phone like the HTC desire..
I've had my Nexus 7 since July and I've been completely satisfied with it. Once I got the 4.1.2 update some strange things have been happening and I'm trying to pin down the reasons since it seems to be a software issue and not a hardware one. The first event happened when I was trying a Live Wall Paper, Oceans HD. After setting the LWP and using it for a few minutes the next time I picked the tablet up and tried turning it on I noticed it had reset. No problem, except after the splash screen everything would go dark again and the power button didn't seem to work at all unless I waited for a while, and tried long pressing it and rebooting the device. After a few reboots of this the screen began to behave weirdly, sort of looking as it there was a problem with the video driver since it looked like a an old TV screen with static. I thought the video hardware was toast and was relived the next day when I tried to reboot again that the tablet rebooted to the default WP. No problems after that. I contacted the maker of the LWP thinking that was the problem. However, after trying out another LWP from another maker, the same thing happened after a few days of use. Jumped through the same hoops and got the WP changed to a static one. I went online and read through a few forums to see if anyone had the same problems but was not bale to find the same issue. I read something about the auto brightness and turned my auto brightness off to see if that works. What do you guys think about this? I use the tablet a lot and for professional purposes often. I cannot afford to have it go bonkers during a presentation.
Are you stock or rooted? I'd re-download a stock 4.1.2 ROM and re-flash if your rooted. Regardless I'd try to redo the 4.1.2 update. Or go back to 4.1.1 see if the problem persists, if not try the update again.

It's the stock ROM. I think I know what the problem is. It appears the contacts of the battery may be loose, or that the battery's charge may be draining very quickly, since, after the tablet goes out, after waiting some time, I plug it back in and it reveals the charge to be 0. I know for a fact that it isn't 0, but this reveals the battery either was discharged or the contacts are loose. It is also charging up quite slowly. I'm beginning to think it is an electrical problem.
This is my first post on this forum. I searched around here for a solution, didn't really find one matching my problem. I am not a phone wizard or anything like that either. So I'll try my best explaining my problem.
First things first:
Phone: Note 4
Model #: SM-N910T
Android Version: 5.1.1
Rom: Stock Rom
Rooted: Rooted Once and used a custom Stock T Mobile Rom Once.
Here's the ROM I used at the time: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...10tuvu1cog2-debloated-deodexed-stock-t3175406
Recently I So recently my phone out of the blue started lagging, freezing, and restarting itself. I didn't download any applications or anything like that for it to freeze up. I was currently then on the custom ROM I have mentioned above and it was the updated version. I have tried everything to my knowledge to try and fix the problem. I have tried going back to stock T mobile ROM (currently on stock rom now) through odin and stuff. After all that, it was still lagging, freezing, and restarting etc... Ran it through safe mode and the only problem in safe mode is that the lag is gone, but the restart is still there. Running in safe mode, if I would turn the screen off and back on to unlock my phone, there would be like 40% chance that it would restart after unlocking the phone and the phone would just restart normally. Rarely, whenever my phone would attempt to restart.. I would get a "Could not boot normally" message along with couples codes below and the image of android guy. Then I would have to take my battery out and attempt to restart the phone once again.. I've wiped the cache and everything in recovery mode, nothing helps at all. Also, the phone is in perfect condition. Hasn't been dropped, cracked, no water damage, or anything like that.
This place is my only hope to fix my phone before I will go out to buy another phone from the carrier.
Thank you all for taking your time to help me
u r not alone

Well I already got rid of my note 4 unfortunately before anyone could help me here so I had to upgrade my phone to note 5 and return note 4. While I still had my note 4, I realized something weird. While the phone was lagging and crashing etc.. When I had it plugged in for charge it would work perfectly fine. No lag, it wouldn't freeze up or restart (had it running perfect for 7 hours). It was like my phone was brand new again. As soon as I unplugged it from the charger, few minutes in and it was back to restarting and all that. I never knew why it did that.
Anyone know why this mightve happened?
Might be the battery though
I thought that too. I tried my brothers note 4 battery for awhile and it worked for a little bit and then it started doing the same thing even on his battery. Shrugs.

In the COH update iteration there is an annoying bug that affect fingerprint.
The bug causing the phone to restart, lagging & closing all apps randomly when the fingerprint is set.
May be this one is also the same.
Try to disable all fingerprint related settings.

I never used finger print scanning on my Note 4. Always disabled.
