Android L ? - Moto G General

Well yes antoher android l topic , so i just chatted with motorola :

But why all these same topic on Android L man?
Then, if moto e, its presentation, it was confirmed that it will have "at least 1 update after 443/444" how will can moto g not have the L version? It's a bit nonsense i think.

Stop those moronic threads,of course Moto G will get L.

New ROM for Nokia X2.. Is it such a challenge for Android Devs!!

Hi every body. I wonder why there is no custom rom for Nokia X2 although there are dozens of custom roms for Motorola Moto E. I had a comparison on GSM arena, and I found that they are almost the same cpu , ram , camera , screen size : http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=6323&idPhone2=6383
. I like Nokia , but I'm starting to get frustrated because of this very weak and simple android introuduced in the Nokia x platform. I have been using android for over 4 years now. Nokia , in my opinion is a great phone manufacturer , but in terms of android, they are Newbies.
So, this is a request only addressed for Real Devs.. Is it possible to port a custom moto E rom to Nokia X2 ??
If Not , would it possible to replace the drivers in the Moto E custom rom with those of Nokia x2 to make it a working rom. I used to have a Huawei smartphone with lots of custom roms, and i managed to cook a miui rom from CM7. I'm not a dev, but I don't think it will be that difficult to do if some dev just guides me on how to do it.
For the devs interested in that, Here's a link on Moto E 4.4.4 Rom

Yes, I agree with you. Frankly I just need this Play store and Google Play services in order to play those apps.

Why you dont just installing 1MobileMarket Apps from Nokia Store to get your Google Apps?
Maybe some program was there. Alternatively, X2 still allow you to install from APK files.
And for me personally, Google Framework which is needed for Google Play and other Google App, will fill your memory and you get a huge laggines like other Android Device.
That's why Nokia build their own custom anything.
I never see such mid-end device playing almost 10 native multitasking apps smoothly without lag, even built-in Opera opening few tabs page inside. And your RAM still much to do other work. So, only X2 can do this, forget the OLD X,XL,X+ series and thrown in garbage. Personally I am satisfied with this condition, and enough to fill my daily use

I just want to have root access so my Clean Master, 1Mobile Market and Apptoide can install and uninstall without prompt. Even though I got an option to put Google Play Services, I choose not to so I can avoid that bootloop problem. I enjoy 3rd party app stores and I didn't see the need to install GApps.

even Nokia X was left out for some days but its waking up.the main problem with Nokia is.it comes with dalvik and devs have to break their heads to make ART work.camera is unique and different from others.things from source can solved bugs I think..reason moto e is fast in devolopment is,its comes with kitkat.as most roms are.based on kitkat it is easy bring down to moto e.I can say that Nokia X is the cause for failure of X2 sales.just wait, things will be goog for us.......Nokia Rules

Moto X Pro = Moto apps on Nexus 6?

http://www.droid-life.com/2015/01/0...he-moto-x-pro-like-the-nexus-6-but-for-china/
So now this is coming, how long till we get a ROM ripped and edited to work on the Nexus 6?
I didn't even think about that. Oh man this could be awesome. The moto tweaks are minor but so useful. I already miss some of them from my moto x 2013. I'm already drooling thinking about customized launch phrase. *crosses fingers*
I'm on the side of the Note 4 right now because of a lot of a reasons, but this could pull me back
Well.... there might be some stuff keeping that from happening.... First, devs would have to be able to get their hands on the Moto Assist sources. I'm not sure if Motorola has that available. Sure, the BASE stuff will have to be released...like the core and kernel sources. But the proprietary stuff might be locked down. So having a native Nexus 6 ROM that has the Moto stuff ported might be either impossible or a legal minefield.
Now, it could be feasible for someone to port the ROM over... but again... we might be swimming in some questionable legal waters there as well.
Or just sell they nexus 6 and try to snag a moto x pro.
In theory if the phone has 100% identical couldn't we just flash a ROM? Like the GSM M8 you could flash GPE Roms and sense Roms. If you were originally a GPE you would have to SOFF to do a full conversion due to differences in partition. Same if you had a sense m8 and wanted to get full conversion with OTA updates.
But let's say you have a carrier bought m8 and just wanted to flash a GPE all you would have to do is HTC Dev_unlock flash recovery and flash GPE ROM
What I'm most excited about with this release, is that we might be able to get back covers from moto maker just like the moto x, only without the nexus logo but wtf.. Bring on those covers and I'm set.!!
There's gonna be nothing more that I'd want from this phone if that happens.

My guess is that it'll be identical to the international version of the nexus 6 and not the US version that has CDMA radios and different LTE bands. Of course I'm not experienced enough to know if that will make a difference when building roms. I imagine it would. Time will tell when it finally releases.

Never had one either but I think they're referring to the motor voice (advanced more comprehensive version of "Ok google", moto display, and a few other features

One I miss right off the bat is Bluetooth profiles. It would remember the volume of each Bluetooth device I had paired. With the nexus 6, I have to adjust between each device when switching.
Wrist twist for fast access to camera
Automatic switch up speakerphone when making a call via voice command that way up don't have to click speakerphone button.
on the new moto x you can customize the launch phrase so you don't have to say okay Google.
You could voice command "where is my phone" and it would start ringing so you can locate it.
Little things but they were nice.
Damn some of those actually sound useful.

I also liked Moto Assist which would independently detect activities like driving or meetings and would assume profiles with different abilities. Like for driving it would read text messages alloud and would automatically offer the opportunity to voice reply.

Android N for moto x pure?

Wondering if we will be getting official or rom with Android N. Really hoping for true pure on Android n
Due to delay of 6.0.1, it looks android N is really under works for Moto X Style.
We surely will get Official Android N update once new nexus is launched just like we got marshmallow. However it is possible that we may get N earlier if some developer creates custom ROM.
This is up to Lenovo/Motorola. While it would be nice, I haven't seen anything promising we will get it.

This is what I am hoping is going on. Much rather have N than 6.0.1. Also, as new as the Moto X Pure is, I am not too worried about us getting it or not, mostly just a matter of when...
Lenovo/Moto has been slow with patches, but they were quick with MM.

Moto G4 or Moto G4 Plus for best ROM support?

I want to get rid of my Honor 7 which is totally dead regarding ROM support (and EMUI is awfull) and I want to choose a device with good support from developpers, especially for CyanogenMod.
I like the G4 Plus (especially because of it's fingerprint sensor) but I'm worrying that it will not have same support as the G4 version.
Are the ROM easy to port from G4?
Is it safer to choose the G4 or do you think the G4 Plus will catch up and gain the same activity ?

This kind of post should go in the "questions and answers" of the device, I can tell you that by reading the contents in the development sections, it seems the opposite.
G4 Plus seems more supported than the regular version, although I could be wrong.

Android O beta channel

Beforehand thanks to all developers, I have never set to investigate how to develop on android or anything like that, but I like to have my smartphone updated and with roms.
I would like to propose the beta channel, create a rom without modifications as is the pixels, with the most current version of Android that is the "O"
I know it's beta, but the developers here are the best, literal a bug comes out and fix it that day
Thanks for reading, I would really like a rom with Android O and pure
Good luck with that

Someday. You friend someday... When South Korea and real Korea are united
I do not understand why it would be so crazy, I've seen roms in weeks, I do not know, I guess I'm not the only one who wants something like this
I think the reason is that here on XDA, you don't ask things like that but you try to learn to do it yourself. Once you do the effort to make it happen, even if you're not an expert, then you will get kind replies and some people will certainly help. If you just say "hey I would like that to happen" and sit back and wait for other people do the work, than you're not taken seriously.
Try and make a new thread, where you ask "what would I need to learn and do to make an android O beta channel", you'll see that you will get positive feedback. (If you also show that you actually follow the advice and do effort)
I do not have the slightest idea how to do, compile, edit etc a rom, look for tools but it only comes out like changing the icons, of course I would like to learn and I would like to do it for myself, I know I have a lot to contribute I do not know how to do it, I have looked for tutorials and nothing, I do not even know why there are errors in the camera or something like that if it were supposed to be compatible with all types of Windows or linux, change system but everything works the same, and in android I do not know and I do not understand
Maybe because of the translation they took it wrong or not, I assumed that this was a community where they could plumb projects and that the people start to participate, maybe it's because I come from cominities where everyone contribute say that it is interesting some begin to work and Begins to create something of an idea, but here is not so I guess
