facebook issue

hi guys, i am using a rooted nexus one with CM 5.0.6 rom and latest radio.
the issue i am having is that I cant seem to successfully upload a pic to facebook - it keeps stalling at 40% or 90% and after a while says failed.
This is very annoying considering I am using this N1 as my 'social' phone and my BBerry as email phone.
I have been trying to look for a solution but cant find any - I would appreciate any help you guys can share
Ps. also is there a way to remove Icons from the Menu - such as Amazon MP3

i got this problem on 5.0.5.3, i just installed fb and worked fine after.

how do you mean you installed fb? it comes pre installed riight? ive tried to go into market place and install the 1.4 or so version but it says installation unsuccessful.
do you think its worth going back to 5.0.53 ?

hi again, when i try and install the latest FB app from market it says - unsuccessful cause its unsigned? - not sure why. Any solution to this?

maybe try un-installing the current FB app first then try installing from market. I think if you upgrade the FB app you no longer have the contact sync

thanks Teidullie, I was able to install the FB 1.1.4 on my nexus 1. But that meant changing roms to modacos or stock rom. for some reason it would not install on CM's rom both .53 and .6.
I am not able to upload images to FB though when I am on 3g, over wifi it works fine.
Everytime i try, it stalls on x% and says failed.
Any help?

glad you found a work around but that sucks that it will only work over wifi. Did you loose the facebook contact sync feature when you upgraded?

hi again - the fb contact sync is still there - which is good. but id much rather be able to upload pics on the go. I am surprised that alot of users arent having this issue.

I have also some problem, but i have setup the upload pictures via email in facebook, and just share via email instead of facebook application.
It gives you a private email address (somethink like [email protected]) fthat will upload anything you send there to your facebook account.

I'm on CM 5.0.6 and uploaded photos to FB yesterday evening without issue. Using the FB app that came built in to the ROM.

Can't sync with Facebook and twitter

Hi, last night i updated my phone to froyo via kies everything went fine but after update i couldn't sync with Facebook and twitter, Google sync on the other hand was fine.
I was getting login failed, try later error whenever i was trying to add Facebook or twitter account.
I thought it might be the the new update so i went back to kyrlos 4.0 rc2 but the problem was still there. I've tried few other roms also like JPM, Apocalypse. but i can't seem to sort it out.... any idea???

hmm... do a thing.... flash stock JPM and see if the problem persists!

What ROM are u on now?
I guess its teh modded phone.apk's fault..
Most of teh custom ROMS are using teh modded phone.apk so tht they don get ascending ringtone..
Replace teh modded phone.apk with teh stock de-oxed one an then try sync-ing.
An pls lemme kno teh results..

When I tried to add a facebook account (beside my 2 google acc's) I received an email incorrect error. I rechecked spelling and login on the internet, so I'm sure the info was correct.
But I couldn't add the acc. This were my phone specs, as from the box.

I now use Kyrillos 7.1 and have login failed, try later error when I try to add the facebook account. Rechecked on the net, no issues.

Hi all, I just flashed MIUI 3.5.1 and I can't find the camera app, or the default email app. I've searched up and down. I can't even setup an exchange account for my contacts/calendar. Any idea?

Which version of MIUI did you flash? Also, what was your flashing process? Your wiping process?

Google Calendars not even showing on syncing options

Hello,
i have just installe CM 11.0 on my i9505. I had the same issue earlier with another ROM and though it was a ROM related problem. The calendar entry in my Google Account Sync options is not there. Even though my Gmail and all the rest works fine, when i open the calendar the first time it asks me to add a calendar by logging in my new or existing account (never asked me before as it should get all this from the first boot process). When i input my credentials to log in it tells me that the server is not reacheable in a flash. I have had this with both my G Accounts. Is it a 4.4 porting issue? Any possible solution?
Thanks to anyone that wants to give it a try to this one..
I've already checked the security options, Privacy Guard is not active.
I've also checked the connected apps in my G Account privacy settings and deleted double entries caused by many ROMs installs and Devices.

Have you found solution to this? I have same problem..

In my case it was simply connected to the kind of rom that i was using. If you try the Jamal ported Stock ROM from the Nexus 5 + xposed framework you should have everything working and as similar as possible to CM!

Visual Voicemail
When i installed this rom i no longer have access to my Visual Voicemail. I did before I flashed the Rom now it wont work. Any suggestions?

You have to install Visual Voicemail as it is not included in the ROM. Follow these instructions to get it back. Also it sounds like you dirty flashed, otherwise it would not be there. Any further problems will require a clean flash of the ROM by entering SafeStrap. Preform a factory reset and advanced wipe by checking Dalvik Cache, Data, Cache and System.

I did install via safe strap but I just downloaded the apk then installed. By doing it the system/apps way it got it working again. Thank you so much

I have a question about sms notifications. How do I remove the contact pictures from the notifications. I removed the stock sms app and retried both 8sms and chomp but the pictures still show. The only way they don't show is by using the privacy settings but then I can see who is texting me.

I don't get the picture in notifications, I'm using 8sms and have the stock mms installed. As for the late reply I apologize. I didn't get any notification in my email like I do normally.

Volte Update
Hello. I am not able to access the Volte on/off in my settings even though it has been added to my account. I need to be able to use the 6 way conference calling feature. Any help is appreciated.

If you are on V17 it is in the settings menu under more networks/mobile networks. I had it enabled on my phone but I disabled it because I don't like it at all. The feature hasn't been removed from the ROM so it will work. Sometimes VZW takes a while to activate it.

I am on v17 but that option is not there. Does verizon need activate it or to do something on the back end before I see it at all? I already added it to my account. Please see the attached.

Yes, it will not show up until you either activate it online in your account features or call VZW on the phone.

I installed stock mms and 8sms and still get pictures when receiving messages I removed the contact pictures and then it will give me the senders initials I've tried both stock ricks rom and your debloated rom I use a ni2 heavy debloater but it still shows contact pictures any help would be great

My mistake. I usualy don't have contact pictures so I added one to try it out. When I added it I didn't save the contact so the pic didn't show. I just tried it again and saved the contact with the pic and it dose show up in the notifications as yours dose. I don't think there is a option not to show the picture if there is one for the contact. Sorry for the confusion.

Long-time lurker, first time poster here...
Has anyone succeeded in making the Visual Voicemail APK work properly? I've tried on multiple devices under R16 and now R19.2. If I boot to stock, VVM works great. If I boot to the ROM where I've installed the APK, it will launch, sit at "please wait while we check your account information", and then eventually error out.
Unfortunately, since I've activated the HD Audio in my Verizon account (which also activates the free version of VVM), I don't get any notifications as to having a VM waiting (since it relies on the VVM app, which isn't working!)

Few post back... On the first page.... U will have to install it using root explorer. System/ apps/ paste the apk file. Reboot.
