just got my lg g2 in beginning of July Model number is d801,im new to the rooting community. I decided to root my g2. My g2 is running kit kat over the stock ui. So i first used towelroot to root my g2 and it was succeful cus i checjed with root checker. I then instaled twrp app and it told me to run this box app. So i followed the steps in tht. I then instaled auto rec. I know i instaled the correct file for the model. I ran it and it told me to go to recovery so i did. My phone rebooted and now i have this black window that says:
Fastboot mode started
Udc_start
when i plug my usb in i get some other errors. I tried accessing download mode but it only pops up for a second and goes back to this screen.
Can someone please help me unbrick my g2. If my parents find out i bricked it im scrwed -.-
I can access the factory reset option but when i confirm the reset it jumps back to the screen

What app was it

[Q] Did I Brick my Verizon LG G2? Help?

Got my phone today and I rooted my phone and then installed TWRP. I held off installing the initial OTA update, but the phone installed it after a certain time. It rebooted and I am stuck in recovery mode in the TWRP interface. I don't have any custom ROMs installed to boot from. I did a factory reset but I'm afraid I may have deleted the stock ROM.
Is there any way to reboot back into the system? If not, how can I get the stock ROM back onto the phone through the computer?
I guess you can tell by now that I am new at this, but any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I rooted the phone first, then installed TWRP, and then I installed the OTA. So now when I turn on the phone or try to reboot, it boots into the TWRP touch screen.
I stupidly did a factory reset of the phone, so I don't know what I need to do next. I know I need to get the stock rom back onto the phone somehow, but I need to get the phone to be able to link my PC to get the rom onto the SD card.
Maybe grab a nandroid from someone on verizon and throw it back on your sd Card

I poked around TWRP more and it seems my system is still installed on the phone (~2400MB). Don't know if that changes anything.

Looked at the link in the link you provided. I was able to revert back using the twrp terminal. Thanks!

[Q] Any way to check how my VS980 was rooted?

I got my G2 used and didn't even realize until a few days in that I was already using CleanROM and had root. Been using it like that all along and only just tonight did I stumble across some old threads about how initially there was a root method that involved some weird Chinese exe file that people eventually feared might have installed spyware and decided not to use anymore. I just assumed all along that the previous owner had used the Loki method as that was the only one I had ever heard about. I realize I could just follow a guide to fully reset my phone, but I would hate to go through all of that for nothing if my phone is safe. Plus I seem to be one of the people who can't seem to get debug mode/adb to initialize on a Verizon G2 when plugged in so I'm not even sure how I would go about using the LG flasher a tot file to fully reset my device.
So far all I tried was installing Titanium backup and making sure I didn't see any frozen Chinese language root explorer app that apparently gets installed on your phone when using that old root method and has to be frozen afterwards.
Is there any thing I can specifically look for on my phone that would hint at which root method was used?
yep there is a way. boot into download mode and here you will see phone status unrooted or rooted..
There is no way to see what method you are using, but as far as i know, you have loki method of rooting. Cause you have another ROM, and only loki patches boot, so you can have TWRP and all that stuff. Why do you want to reset the phones root? If it is working, don't use LG tools, cause i saw some people (but only on D802) who complained that they got stucked in bootloop after using LG tools.

Not if its rooted, HOW its rooted.
Thanks Devs. From my VZW G2.
Don't believe there's a way to get root method.
If concerned, maybe go back to stock and redo the device with the other method?

For peace of mind, I would backup what u need to a computer, flash stock (handy to know how to anyways) and re-root. Least then u know for sure. Just my 2ยข

[Q] I think I messed something up

Hey guys I've bee trying to get cynogenmod working on my lg g2. Before I get to the details about the problem, some specifics about my phone. It is an att model d800. I got the phone rooted properly and the next step was to install clockworkmod recovery. I had a lot of problems with this step. For some reason I could not get into clockworkmod recovery after it was flashed to the device. Someone on irc pointed me in the direction of an app called freegee that does the job for you. So I tried the app and it did work for me. I booted to clockworkmod and I tried to get out of it by choosing the reboot choice. But since then the phone has been flashing the lg screen. I don't really know what to do or what I might have messed up.
Please help?
Update
I'm able to get into cwm recovery but I don't know what to do from there. After plugging it into my pc, it's not really recognizing it. Windows device manager shows me an error under LG-D800 stating that the drivers for this device are not installed. I tried reinstalling the drivers but it didn't change anything.
Can you get into download mode? If so, you should be able to flash the phone back to stock. Granted, you'll wipe the phone clean in the process, but that's preferable to having a glowing brick right?
Anyway if you Google "flash G2 to stock", the first result should be an XDA thread dedicated to helping you out with the entire process.

G2 stuck in recovery and wont enter download mode

So for some reason while working today my phone died and when I went to turn it on it went to TWRP recovery and wouldnt leave it no matter how many times I tried rebooting it. And of course to top it off I cant get it into to download mode to revert to stock and start over. When I hold the volume up and plug it in, again it goes straight to TWRP. Need some help please.
EDIT: In case anyone is having the same problem I had, I fixed it by following this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696 and had to use the terminal command inside of twrp.
Then it put my phone into a bootloop but I was able to enter download mode then so I followed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663369 to restore phone to factory. Hope this doenst happen to anyone but in case, there's how I fixed mine!
Have you tried wiping and flashing a ROM or restoring a backup don't know what variant but with my Verizon g2 this has happened to me once but I just wiped and restored a backup

[Q] Recovery Mode (No command?)

Hello people
I have a rooted LG G2 device and I wanted to download a custom ROM, and so I installed "Rom Manager" and installed the "Team Win" Recovery thingy. After that I wanted to go into recovery mode and used "Rom Manager" in order to do so but It showed up w/ a Green Android with a Red Triangle and said "No Command".... What does that mean and how can I fix it? Thanks Homies
Device Info:
LG G2 Verizon Variant
Android 4.2.2
Software Version: VS98012B
Model Number: VS980 4G
Additional Details!!!
I think I may know what the problem is but Im not sure if it is....
I used the manual way in order to reboot into recovery mode for the LG G2 verizon variant but it somehow factory reset! (which is not a problem for me Phew)
Anyways if my android factory reseted instead of booting onto recovery mode... does that mean that my android does not have a custom recovery??
Just in case but can you guys also tell me how to download a custom recovery? b/c when I said that I downloaded a custom recovery (team win) I wasn't sure so I think that may be the problem Thanks once again
That usually means that the recovery did not install properly, how about you try with freegee
Edit:freegee is available in the playstore

Hi Thanks for the tip and I did download freegee and it is taking quite a while to download TWRP... does it usually take this long? its already been like 5-7 minutes. How do I know if it is done? and sorry for my impatience it is just that I find it odd for this to go for like 7 minutes
