I'm the developer of wear face collection :

But when you have a new email, the notification takes about half of the screen.
On of the faces of samsung watch has small notification popup : like 25% the height of the screen.
If anyone know what API to call, please let me know.

As far as I know, its not currently supported, because custom watch faced aren't official supported. It'll come later this year, I read on G+

I'm not a programmer but I thing I can do some watchfaces...
This is my wish list that hope be develop in future:
- Tasker app (like pebble or sony)
- Music player (able to control every player)
- Note App (maybe able to sync with Evernote)
- Whatsapp compatible (I do a simple task that send an email when receive a whatsup msg, but this only a very simple and not confortable thing)
- Many tons of watch faces (watch is a watch, and it must be a better watch! pebble is the best in this, my favorite is the retrò like casio watch and the strange)
- remote camera shot control (i think it can be a good things)
so hope to see many post in this thread!

Tips and Trick - whatsapp notifications hot smartwatch
Hot smatwatch doesn't have a native support till now for whatsapp, so ho to receive a notification?
It's not the best way, i know, but while waiting for someone that maybe develope an app TASKER can help us..
First of all i need to say that i'm a newbie in tasker use so maybe someone can do it better but i think that this is a simple way that everyone can do.
Requisite:
-TASKER https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm
-EMAIL ME PRO https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.caramellabs.emailmepro
-root device
Once dowload all open email me pro and complete the setting (smtp is very very very important)
now open tasker
Create a new profile
Select EVENT
on filter search for NOTIFICATION and select it
On owner application click on the icon and select whatsapp
Now maybe it ask to give tasker the accessibility so in the accessibility menu (of device setting) select tasker jb and put it ON
ok now profile is complete
Give a new task a name go on
Now select PLUGIN
now select EMAIL ME PRO and set is like you want is very easy
FINISH!
just a little video tutorial for tasker
Now everytime you'll receive a whatsapp message tasker send you an email... in this case on the Hot smartwatch mail app

Sure! I hope as soon as possible, now I waiting for CES 2014 to have more news, more video, more picture and maybe the SDK...
The power of a good product I think is the comunity and the 3rd party apps! look at pebble than sony...in google+, the community of sony sw have 4/5 post at week, pebble have 4/5 every hour!!!

they just started production of pcb's last week, that's the only info PHTL has given so far

I have not found this info so far, so I'm asking here:
Can Android Wear Smartwatches be equipped with custom watchfaces out of the box, like the Pebble? I know that Motorola is planning something like this, but I'd like to know, whether we'd be stuck with whatever Samsung, LG or whoever made the device allows, or if we can install Watchfaces from the Playstore/other sources? This would be a big factor for different screentypes, AMOLED could benefit greatly from Black and White watchfaces for example.
The same goes for the general theme/style. Is that alway "stock" Google Now look, or can we adjust it to fit our needs and/or to conserve power on AMOLED screens?

You can find Google I/O prese.tation on youtube and just find Android Wear presentation. It shows watchfaces, wallpapers etc.

I was aware of the wallpapers, but not sure about watchfaces, since those are, according to what I read, the only things manufacturers (eg. Samsung, Sony et al) are allowed to customize. Now, just because Sammy is allowed to customized doesn't mean they'll allow me to customize...
I'll rewatch it and see what exactly they say...
UPDATE: I watched the presentaion again, but did not find any concrete evidence either way. Apps can have a custom UI, but I found nothing on 3rd party watchfaces.
Another question just popped up in my brain: What happens when the watch is not connected to the phone? How much functionality remains?
Also, can you actually answer a call on the watch? I'd assume not, since it has no speaker...

Regarding 3rd party watchfaces, that functionality isn't available today but has been promised in an upcoming release. Wear devices currently run Android 4.4W so I would assume it will roll out with L (if not before).
Just tested the functionality of the LG watch when not connected to a phone. It has limited functionality. No voice commands (because it normally uses the internet through your mobile device) but you do have access to the basics: steps, agenda, timers, timers alarms, stopwatch, etc and apps that don't require internet.
When you receive a call can answer/decline or decline & send a text (with preset and on the fly voice I think) straight from the watch but I believe you will need to use your phone or another Bluetooth device to actually talk the the person on the other end.

I dont see any watch face yet for Android Wear but there are already watch faces in the Android Wear itself available for you..

Check with the android developer website for any new sdks
I did a quick look at the files i dumped from my watch. Samsung and LG use some com.google.android.clockwork.wearable library that doesn't seem to be public. So as of now I dont think there is a way to make watch faces just yet.

As for now Android Wear doesn't support Custom Watchfaces but I'm pretty sure they will include SDK and other stuff to develop them.
Android Wear is still not fully finished product and they will add more features within weeks or months.

Yes your right, when Android Wear was announced I was so excited about the possibility of watch faces, and tweak the UI but Google wont allow it, and the watch faces is still out of reach

+1 - I have been reading what I can find on the internet about hacking/updating K88H but unfortunately there isn't a satisfactory amount of resources regarding this smart watch.
It's a great gadget though - if in doubt, just buy it, a great value for the price!
Back to the topic of this thread - There is value in looking for resources that talk about hacking/updating nuclear os as it's operating system that the watch is using.

1. Which app do you suggest to be downloaded in iPhone, which is stable and can be used to access all function in watch.
2. I am unable to read my text messages from watch (which i can if i connect from Android phone)
3. In android I had "Mediatek SmartDevice" and "Fundo Wear" app which had the folder called "Applications" in the app. I was able to download few other watch faces or yahoo weather from it. However i am unable to find it in the iOS apk of "iOS Mediatek SmartDevice" and iOS Fundowear" am i doing something wrong?

How can I install watch faces using my iphone? What app on iphone that can install watch faces and apps on k88h? Mediatek Smartdevice by Liang Lv from App Store can't install watch faces unlike Mediatek Smartdevice by Mediatek Inc from google play.

I also have the K88H. I did not like some of the screens on the Notifications. It has a huge "BLOCK" button that if you touch it the screen pops up asking if you want to block these kinds of messages. I blocked all the apps I wanted in the Mediatek SmartDevice app on my Android Phone. So why would I want that second button in the way?
Long story short I used Golem_'s tutorial and found a better firmware. Follow his instructions to the letter. Make sure you back up your existing firmware before continuing. Our watch is the MTK2502A 128MB. My favorite firmware so far is the X-Watch firmware. Golem_ also has a collection of firmware for you to begin with. Engjoy...

I am developing a watchface in Android studio in java targeting Android 12.
I need to add complications data on my watchface. I want that complication should be set to a default system complication without requiring user to configure it.
I also found it challenging to handle double click/touch gesture on the complications in wear os.
Is there any good and complete tutorial/guide/sample for adding complications on wear os watchfaces in java?
I found one sample on the android developer website but it is not sufficient.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure that is even possible? The whole complication system gets data from the system. Your watch face only gets to receive the data the user has allowed via the system dialog your app invokes.

I made a watch face, but ended up not using the system's support for drawing complications, rather I grabbed the data and did the drawing myself. That also made it trivial to handle clicking, since there isn't anything else to capture events.
The example I link to below suggests you can just not pass tap events to the drawable (if it's not doing what you want). I'm going to guess the standard thing is just to invoke the pending intent, which you can do yourself.

But since I was targeting an older watch (stuck on Android 8) and using Java, I had to go back to a much older version of the code.
