Hi,
i never touched my Nexus 7 with any other ROMs or such. It was still rooted and kinda original. Now i can't do anything with it anymore.
I talked to the google hotline already and i was trying to start the bootloader which works fine, but nothing more.
1. When i choose Start, Restart Bootloader, Recovery Mode oder Power Off nothing happens, beside Booting failed (Recovery Mode).
2. When i start the phone just with the power button i just see the google logo.
3. When i plugin the power cable i don't see the battery for loading.
I got another device from google with horrorable battery power, so now i wanna try on my own the save my Tablet. I flashed my Galaxy Nexus and HTC HD2 couple of times, so i'm not a 100% Noob.
I was already looking in like 10 threads i found about problems nearly like mine, but i don't got the golden clue yet, sry.
I hope you can help me please.

I encountered identical problem on an N7 (2012) 32gb and try everything that I know how and always get the message ADB not found. Finally I use Skipsoft ToolKit and use option #9 Download, Extract and Flash Google Factory Stock Rom and it works . My N7 was returned to stock with latest firmware.. Of course you will lose all data and still have to unlock and root again
I am not a techie so I cannot explain the details but only share my experience.
I hope it will work for you

If you can't see the white battery picture when plugging in the power cable, I suggest you use AC power, and if you are, try using a different USB Micro cable.

Hi all,
First time posting on here (but I read the forums often - for guides etc).
Bought the Nexus 4 and I unlocked the bootloader and rooted the device. Kept to the stock Android (JB 4.2) however I locked the bootloader again.
The boot loop occurred after a restart after I did the following things:
1. Used Battery Calibration to calibrate the battery. Left the battery to drain and then charge to 100%.
2. Used VM Heap to change the amount and restarted the phone. Boot loop ocurred.
I have tried many things after reading this forums and other forums but there seems to be no answer to this issue.
Things I've tried are:
1. Booted into recovery mode and wipe data/factory reset many times - still has boot loop
2. Used Nexus Root Toolkit and tried the various functions on there. Fastboot doesn't detect the device (even though its in fastboot mode) in order for me to unlock the bootloader again and flash it with the stock ROM. Windows (8) does detect it but can't load drivers for it. Been through all the instructions on the Nexus Root Toolkit - reinstall drivers, cleared the device from device manager, cleared it from usb list etc. Fastboot just won't detect it to allow me to unlock!!
3. Let the battery drained and tried factory resetting but doesn't work (not tried fully charging it and then resetting though)
4. Been trying various other things which I read on the forum(s) but nothing seems to work!:crying:
Literally spent the whole day trying so many different things. Seems like I discovered a whole new unique problem to causing boot loop on the Nexus 4. I don't want to have to send this back to Google for a replacement if they give me one - hopefully with the locked bootloader and the data cleared, they won't know I've rooted, not to mention its micro-sim and my backup feature phone doesn't take micro-sim :crying:
Has any one had this issue before and fixed it!? Would really appreciate the help/guidance!
My first time rooting a phone, didn't do it before on other phones because thought knowing my luck I'd brick it beyond repair! Luck would have it, that exactly what has happened.
Appreciate the replies and help on this!

I'm having the same problem!
For the toolkit to see the device, you need to put your device to fastboot mode by pressing vol (-) and then the power button (the phone should be in powered off mode to do this).

I had a boot loop issue. It was stuck on Google logo - the white logo.
I couldn't go into recovery either.
My fix was to flash the stock recovery.IMG
I too couldn't detect the device however I kept trying.
If you face a problem getting into fast boot mode try pressing vol up + vil down + power. Didn't work for me but worked for some.
Let me know how it goes I'm glad to help out if I can
Having USB Debugging ticked WHILE IN ANDROID has absolutely no effect on whether or not your computer can see the device WHILE IN RECOVERY OR FASTBOOT.

Didn't fix it in the end...no matter what I tried. I got a replacement from Google (thankfully they didn't charge me for the new one!).
BTW the batch of Nexus 4 released in end of Jan/early Feb has a much better battery life than the one I got from the batch released in early Dec. Won't be rooting the new Nexus 4 in case sh*t happens again but no doubt will get tempted again somewhere down the line!
Thank you to everyone who replied!~ :good:
sideloading 4.4.2 and stuck on boot loop

Hello ! I really need help at this moment, i don't know what to do ... Really !
My Nexus 7 was in CM10, but 1 week ago, my tablet runs out of battery (turned off completly).
I plugged in, turned it on, and it bootloop on the Google logo. I mean i see the google logo, turns off and go back to the google logo, endlessly....
I tried the recovery mod to go back to the stock software... But i get the android's robot laying on it's back with a red icon....
No ADB status, and i cannot install the drivers with the nexus root toolkit ...
I powered it off, unplugged, plugged it, and let it charge all the night, but i get the same problem.
So .... I opened the back, see if there's any problem with the battery, disconnected and reconnected the connector, nothing suspect ... Turned on, bootloop on the google logo, super ... :good:
From this, i tried this method from XDA how-manually-unbrick-restore-your-nexus-7-s-factory-state-windows (can't post URL Ha!)
And tadaaaa, that's working now, i can access to my nexus 7 with the 4.1.0 Android, but ... I cannot access to the network ( it's connected but i get a grey icon with these little arrows...) and the battery shows 0%. If unplugged, my tablet turns off... Also, number of notifications show "......" as stoped working.
Now, i have the ADB status, that's pretty good, so that i can install the 4.2.2 Android version with the nexus 7 root toolkit. During the installation, at the end (when the tablet bootloop on the nexus logo with the color) my tablet turned off (maybe runs out of battery or a problem ? Don't know ...) ...
I plugged in the wall charger (not the computer) and my tablet restarted. See the google logo, after the nexus logo, and restart, endlessly ...
Now i don't know what i have to do, i'm completely lost. Do you think i can do something last, or i have to return my Nexus ?
Sorry if it's confused at some time, i've not a good english.
Thank you in advance
I think you failed to attach your battery correctly. Try disconnecting an reconnecting the battery. Than power down the tablet(Power button for 10sec if turns back on press power and volume down and choose "Power off") Than recharge your tablet using(Charger is better than PC). Now try flashing or installing Android. Should work. Let me know if doesn't.

I've already did that! It's correctly attached ...
I think that everytime i tried to install a new OS, my tablet turns off because he runs out of battery, whereas i though i was due to an error .
I've retried the method i gave above, Third times.
It's working now in Android 4.1, but if i try to update, my nexus restart again and again ...
Very annoying because i can't access to the recovery mode --' ...

Thank you jesus ! ^^
I've saved my nexus !
I post the solution:
You just have to follow the guide, named as "[HOW TO] MANUALLY UNBRICK / RESTORE YOUR NEXUS 7 TO IT'S FACTORY STATE (WINDOWS)" on this same website. (As i'm a new , i can't post URL at this time)
You must do the installation twice or more, because sometime, the nexus 7 reboot endlessly on the google logo, or on the nexus logo.
I needed to do this three times in a row to get a full and complete Android 4.1 working .
From that, i followed another guide. (because if i try to upgrade to the 4.2.2 OS, the nexus 7 is also blocked and i got a non stop reboot tablet)
Just go on google and type this "How to install cm10 jelly bean on the google nexus 7 using twrp recovery"
This is a youtube video that shows you how to download and install the Cyanogenmod10 in TWRP recovery mod.
(To access to the TWRP recovery mod, you can also use the Nexus 7 root toolkit by clicking on the Advanced button)
And voila, that's working now perfectly for me !
Hope this will help

Ok as far as I have herd there is no way to rescue a bricked nexus 7 using NVflash if there are no Backed-up Blob files on it. If you just ended up in apx mode without doing anything to its bootloader then it is probably out of charge or needs to have a particular button combo to sort it out
if on the other hand you corrupted the bootloader and after that the device is in a sleep of death then you have hardbricked your nexus 7 'apparently'
good luck
No Custom Bootloader

Ok if you want to know about how to set up a link between the NVflash tool (on your computer) and your new n7 just use the following proceedure here www.androidroot.mobi/pages/guides/tegra3-guide-nvflash-jellybean
As far as your old n7 is concerned if it is definitely hard-bricked and you have not made a backup using NVflash before the brick then there is no known way to save it with only a computer and n7 connected via USB however there is a slim chance your old n7 might just be in a state where it can't access the bootloader because of some power shortage or incorrect button states so do keep trying the key combos and recharging etc because there are a lot of stories of people who escaped using this random strategy. Normally to get into apx mode one would press all three buttons at once so to get out you could do the same so it is worth a try
BTW I have one more trick up my sleeve, if you download WugFresh's toolkit for the n7 (make sure its 2012 edition) then you could try pressing the 'reboot bootloader' option in the advance options menu in the lower left.
good luck

Same deal here - and frickin ASUS wanted $165 JUST for the motherboard part. So I said no to the RMA and they sent it back.
NOW my question is - can I order a motherboard and just swap it out? Does that work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-Nexus-...2GB-ASUS-Google-ME370T-Ship-Fast/121330719361

I have a Nexus 7 2012 version since 2014, after many updates and installing apps it was becoming slowly and unusable, so I dicided to flash and install Cyanogenmod 12.1, after installing it, all was fast and smooth, I loved it, but after a month it was turning laggy again, so I decided to use Nexus Root Toolkit to come back to 4.4.4 stock. After flashing, the tablet still in recovery mode, I selected START using the buttons, and the Google logo appeared but a little message in the corner of the screen scared me, it said "booting failed" , so I tried to flash again, but now using the option "the tablet is bricked/bootloop" but it didn't work, so I tried to turn off the tablet and power in again, but nothing happened when I tried to turn on again, the tablet didn't turned on and now it still off, when I plug the charger the battery logo doesn't appear and tried to press the power button for 30 seconds without success, I need help guys, someone told me that it will be possible to fix it, but he doesn't know how to do it.
Thanks for your attention!
Hello,
please charge you Nexus 7 (2012) 2 hours and then try to boot into Fastboot-Mode!
Try holding power button and volume down until the Google logo shows up
I fixed my nexus 7 doing that when it wouldn't turn on

About a year ago, I decided to try the 5.0 release. Upon installation and reboot, It stuck at the "Google" logo. I was able to get into the bootloader, and it said it was still unlocked, but I couldn't do anything: boot to system failed, and even boot to recovery failed. Formatting/deleting the various partitions failed (cache partition was corrupt but couldn't be formatted); flashing a bootloader from the latest Google images didn't help.
I fixed it by buying a used motherboard from eBay for $30. It was fine with 4.4.4/f2fs for about three months, but when I once again upgraded to 5.0, the *exact same* thing happened.
I now have yet another motherboard and will not ever upgrade past KitKat.
Hi guys,
I had Pure nexus rom installed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-pure-nexus-project-layers-t3237366
and everything worked fine for weeks. Yesterday I noticed that my nexus 4 is using battery too much, without any reason.. Then my phone turned off, try to restart but it was stuck on google logo. At that point there was 20 or 30% battery left. I boot it to recovery, wipe everything and tried to restore factory settings, cos I didnt have any backup on phone. But again it was stuck on google logo.
So now I cant boot it cos there's no system installed on it, basicaly there is nothing on my phone. I tried Nexus Root Toolkit, but my pc dont recognize my phone, when I boot to recovery it's still the same, so I cant install drivers..
At this point, I have no idea what to do.. Can anyone help pls?
Thx
Can you get into fastboot? Are you using Win7? Tried different USB ports and cables?

Thx for quick reply !
Yes, I'm using win7 64x, I tried all usb ports and 3 different cables and nothing. I can get into fastboot and recovery, but pc still don't recognize anything..
i am currently under the same situation
only difference is i can still fastboot and flash a recovery (twrp for that matter)
afterwards, when booting to recovery - i can install a rom
once the rom is installed, reboot does not boot into the ROM and instead just displays the google logo - then vibrates a little - then the screen turns off
I just tried on 2 other win7 pc's, still nothing.. Nexus root toolkit just can't establish adb/fastboot connection..
edit: other thing I tried is to copy ROM file on usb stick, and then connect usb stick with micro usb cable to phone, and when I'm in recovery (twrp 3.0.2-0) there is just ''internal storage'' option.. Is that normal, should twrp see external USB drive? Cos I'm thinking that maybe something is wrong with usb charging port (I replaced that board month ago).
Hi,
I have a similar problem:
I had my mobile in working condition and once when upgrading the OS to 5.0.1, it downloaded the OS and was upgrading. During that process, the charge got over and hence the phone was shutdown. There after, it was not proceeding further from Google screen when trying to reboot. So, i thought battery is dead and replaced the battery with a new one. Now, i am getting the following problem:
The phone doesn't turn on(not even getting GOOGLE screen now). But, If I keep holding power button and Volume down button and try to insert the charging cable immediately then i get the boot menu but it wont stay there for even a second and goes to GOOGLE logo screen and gets shut down. Please help me with this.
Hi guys,
I menaged to fix the problem, my problem was charging port (smal L shaped board) that I replaced month ago. That's why there was no connection.
I got another one this morning from ebay, and Nexus Root Toolkit established connection immediately.

That looks like a stuck power button.
Try just holding the volume down button and plugging the charger.
If you see the fastboot screen, you have a stuck power button.
Just experienced this issue on a Nexus 5 and I was able to recover from it by "massaging" the power button for a while.
