Hi there I got the Samsung Galaxy s4 after making the jump from the S2 and im really happy with it. There something annoying me though, as a wallpaper junkie. The S4 has a bunch of original HD wallpapers, which are quite frankly beautiful. The great thing about them is they take up the entire screen, they make the upper notification bar see trough which means you get more screen, more color, more happyness.
However there are only a limited amount of build in original wallpapers and for a wallpaper addict like me they start to bore quickly no matter how beautiful they are . The problem however is that if i use another picture from my phone or a hd wallpaper from one of the many apps i have the upper bar becomes black instead of see trough.
So my question basically is, is there a way to make the upper bar see trough for all wallpapers? Or are there additional wallpapers we can download somewhere from samsung that remove the upper bar? Or is there another app for HD wallpapers that does remove the upper black status bar?
Hope anyone could give me an answer to that.
In the latest beta of Nova launcher there is an option to make the status bar transparent.
I have a Galaxy S3 and the homescreen icons have 2 line names so if they're too long they don't get cut off. Is there anyway to get this on the Note 8? I would prefer to run the stock launcher if that matters. I have tried using folder explorer and entering the names as 2 lines but they show up on one line only once added to the homescreen.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Hi! First off I apologize if I've posted this in the wrong forum but I haven't ever really done this before, haha.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and run Nova Launcher on it. I recently dragged and dropped the Digital Clock widget onto my main screen and even though it used to show up with a white font and a semi-transparent black background, it has now changed to a black font with a grey background. I've no idea why this happened, or how I can change it back to what it was before. Can anyone please help me?
I just purchased my new samsung device about two days ago. The problem I'm confronted with is the status bar / notification bar, which has a slightly white color to it.
This device has a super amoled display which gives me the opportunity to use very dark images.
I've used my old galaxy s3 NEO with the same black image as in the a3 but the a3 appears to have a whiteish color to it.
when I go into the app drawer this problem ressolves and is not there, it appears that this is only confronting the home screen, I tried to use another launcher which could've given me the ability to solve this issue, it didn't.
does someone have the same issue?
it looks like this:

This is actually an S5 Neo question, but something that works for the S5 may also work for me. I asked this question in the S5 Neo Q&A forum, but got no response, so I thought I'd try here.
I'm looking for a UI theme that can be applied to my phone which would only change the lockscreen portion, and leave the rest of the existing theme (icons, homescreen, settings, phone, contacts, etc) unchanged.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo model SM-G903W (Canada), running Android Nougat 7.0 and Samsung Experience 8.1 with TouchWiz Home 6.1.85.12. I am rooted, with TWRP.
I really dislike the standard theme lockscreen clock, which shows hours stacked on top of minutes.
The Samsung store has themes with a normal digital clock, but I don't want to change the rest of my UI, only the lockscreen. (I know I can install the new theme, then overwrite the icons and wallpaper with my old theme, but the phone, contacts, settings menu and so forth remain with the new theme.)
Can anyone point me to a theme that only overwrites the lockscreen? I'm talking about the clock format, not the lockscreen wallpaper (which is trivial to change).
Otherwise, is it possible to extract the lockscreen portion of a theme and install only that? It looks like Samsung themes for Nougat are a closed system and development tools are hard to come by, so I'm not sure if any of the "Basic APK & Theming Thread" in the XDA-University forum is applicable. Advice on whether I can modify the theme myself would be appreciated. If this is something that would be simple to change using Sungstratum, then that could be an option.
An example which takes a desired set of icons from a theme package, and places it into an icon-only package, is given by this post: <https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/samsung-theme-store-icon-hack-icon-theme-t3628253>. I would be grateful for guidance on doing something similar with only the lockscreen from a theme package.
Other ways to get a normal clock, which I have rejected:
- Install a new lockscreen app -- I'm happy with the functionality of the Samsung default lockscreen (except the ugly clock!)
- Create a permanent notification, which causes the clock to display on one line -- I don't want to have the notification
- Downgrade to Android 6 -- I'd like to stay with Nougat
- Samsung Good Lock app -- not compatible with Nougat on the S5 Neo
Thanks for any help,
Justin
