Disable S-View in AOSP - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys.
I tried to write this question in the main thread of AOSP room but I couldn't.
I have installed the AOSP Android 4.4.4 GE with S-View support.
Is it possible to disable S-View cover feature somehow? My s-view cover sensor is broken so it thinks the cover is on all the time - and that means I cannot use the phone. The screen frozen on the black screen/clock mode.
Thanks since now.

Thank you for you help. I tried to remove the back case but it didn't work. Somehow I believe the problem is at the cable that connects the MB and the Screen. I need to disable the S-View cover without seen my screen or manage the Xposed app try adb or something like that.
Do you think it is possible?

All I can suggest to you would be to download another rom, one without S-View.
Alot of the "Unified" roms do not come with S-View support, other than that I'm unsure how you would do it without using the screen.
Sorry

Lock screen gestures

Hi
I have a galaxy S2 and I want to be able to trace out gestures on my lock screen that will then trigger specific actions.
I'm looking for the same functionality that apps such as gesture search have, but on the lockscreen rather than inside and app.
Could anyone please tell me how I could achieve this?

You'll need CM7 for that
If you are looking for an app.,
1) Gesture Lockscreen,2) Gesture Lock,3) MyGesture on Android Market.
Plz be very careful while using them.I really doubt if they work efficiently

Hmm yes you are right, the apps seem to have poor reviews.
Could you please explain how I could get CM7?
I know nothing about modding, is it difficult/dangerous? Do I lose all my current configurations and settings when I mod?
If those questions are too much for this thread then I will ask in the actual mod thread.
Just download Rom manager from market . Flash recovery, go to download rom, look for cyanogen mod , tap , then download the latest version if u want or just look up on comments if that version dint work, then when finished flas decovery wipe data and cache + dalvick, then install rom from zip, it should be on downloads or clockword mod , then scrooll to yes
Try "Widget Locker" on the market.. It may be what your looking...

[Q] danvdh - S4 Google Edition - S view not working

Hey guys, that's my first thread and comment here. I've installed the danvdh Google Edition ROM, which I'm liking to use it. Congratulations for the dev.
The unique problem is the caller view Id, is not showing It on my flip cover screen(the time is ok). Does I have to do any step to make it work?
Thanks
anyone?

Hi..
It's a problem in all GE 4.4 roms.. Idk if google removed S-View caller id from 4.4.. Anyways you can always try GE 4.3 which supports it

Stock Google but with some TouchWiz features?

Hi guys, i am an owner of a GS4 GT-i9505.
At the moment i use the ShoStock ROM 4.4.3 wich is TouchWiz based.
I would like a pure stock android ROM that supports the S-View feature that actually works on calls and the WatchON app.
Those are the only 2 features i most use from TouchWiz.
Any stock android roms that support those 2?
Thanks in advance.
The S-view cover should work on all Google Play based ROMs for the i9505, though, not sure how well. As for WatchOn it should be enough to install the APK to get it working.
EDIT: it seems that the S-view cover works just the same way on Google Edition ROMs as it does on TouchWiz.

Thus, any of these ROMs will do:

or

And WatchOn can thereafter be installed from here:

Well i am asking for the Sview cover because i had a google play edition and it didn't work. If you click the 2nd link you gave me, on the info it says that Sview cover is not supported.
Hm, I see. I assumed that it would be included in all Google Play Edition ROMs, but it does seem like the 2nd ROM is indeed missing this. That said, users of Danvdh's GPE ROM are reporting that S-View functionality should be "working", though there's no clear answer if it actually works with calls in the latest release.

Few Questions
I am running the D800 from At&t. I am coming from LiquidSmooth. I am running the stable version of this rom. All seems well but I have a few questions.
Is there anyway to enable knock to lock? I see knock to unlock works, not sure if I'm missing something?
Also, it seems my nav bar buttons are not working. I need to use the pie menu for on screen nav. And I can only launch it from the bottom right portion of the screen. That is the same thing when trying to use the regular nav bar, I can only use the most right button. I have wiped and reflashed a few times with no luck. I know that portion of the screen works because the keyboard works fine on that spot. It seemed like it stopped after changing LCD density? It seems like the phone thinks that portion of the screen is more towards the right, instead of the center. Because even when I open pie, I can only do it from the right bottom side of the screen not the middle.
EDIT: I tried changing the LCD density back to 480 and this did help with the nav bar, it seems to work fine. However the keyboard was useless. Using swipe it measure 2 lines each time when trying to use anything on the top row of keys..
The keyboard brings me to my next issue. I can't seem to select a predicted word? I try to touch it and it just clicks somewhere else around the word.
I am not sure these are ROM related, it could be another issue all together? But any help or ideas would be great appreciated! Thanks, Chris.

I use the fire chili theme and it works fine. Drgravy mentioned that most themes are made for cm and pa and that aicp framework is very different.

I'm on the latest but I didn't realize it was stock. I use hangouts.
I was downloaded the newest release (v7.0) based on android 4.4.4 but i noticed that the newest AICP Gapps release are for Android 4.4.2, its ok to flash those Gapps with this version ?
I have d802.
I used slimroms gapps
Is there any way to remove the Bluetooth and alarm icons from the status bar? I've searched through every setting and I can't find an option to disable those icons. I'm using Timely instead of the stock Clock app; I changed the setting in the stock app to get rid of the icon, but that didn't work.
I tried using GravityBox, and while it did work, all of the changes don't seem to stick on reboot. Also, it causes the navbar height reverts back to 48dpi (which I changed in the AICP ROM settings). Without GravityBox the navbar height sticks to the setting I select.
Other than these two minor issues, this ROM is exactly what I was looking for!
Hello all,
Planning to give this rom a try. I want to use a custom kernel with this. Can anyone please tell me that which kernel combo works best with this rom in terms of battery life.
Thank you for reading.

problem with speaker
Hi, I flashed the 6.0 stable and up to far so good, then I went back to stock because I did not like the camera, but I can see that turning the speakers are much more quiet and the sound is very distorted I tried ll possible hack but I could not improve anything, besides the cases the problem is also in microphone that records badly. What i have to do now?
There is a meter of network speed in the status bar in version 5.0? What are the differences with the CM12?
Lost Data
Posting this in case it helps somebody that has lost data after flashing and sees this before they freak. Flashed the latest Lollipop build (and of course the 12b baseband) and lost data. I thought through everything. It didn't make sense and I'm pretty good about following OPs. I read and read and read, google searched, searched XDA, Phandroid, etc. I went back thru nandroids w/ correct basebands, stock, Liquid, AICP, PA. ?Nothing worked! I was about to revert to stock and start over. Then?! Ahh...hardware...that's it! Powered off, pulled SIM, cleaned contacts with a little alcohol, let dry, rebooted...voila! Data!

How to keep LED notification on while screen on i9505 4.4.x

Is there any MOD which can keep the notification LED on while the display is still on? Previously this was possible using JKay Deluxe. Currently, I don't find anythings. Any suggestion is appreciated or someone please make a mod on this.
I currently use 4.4.4 custom TW ROM with xposed framework.

For a particular app? Like notifications of sth?
"If someone helps, never forget to hit thanks ? "
This is the main reason I am stuck on 4.2.2 is so that JKay Deluxe works to enable LED with screen on. It surely must be possible to mod so the LED works with screen on for 4.4.4.
I won't mind if the mod is app specific

I was looking for something global, but if it's app specific it will be okey for me. Like gmail, hangouts and skype.
It is definitely possible because this LED behavior is available in 4.2.2. Also in 4.4.4 even the LED is on during bootanimation.
Ok, I got this.
Finally, I got it. I am gonna be damned for how I missed this one. XLED Xposed module got it worked!
