Atf Side:
- only select SDC,
- Insert micro sd (just formatted fat 32), in M.sd reader of BIG atf or adaptor
- select you .img file
- click in "write" button, wait and when ready get out,
-------------------------------
Phone side:
1) insert Micro sd in slot of Samsung, wait a little, (5 min.s),
2) connect any Uart Cable of BOX samsung or if have the "JIG UNBRICK" in Usb port of the Samsung and waith that enter in D.Mode,
3) Download and insert Full Flash pack whith Single file, Csc.. Phone..Pda + Mx-Pit file, (this is important), in Odin or if you want, can use any Samsung BOX, (i use Odin), wait when is ready and click START,
4) Now in you phone will be write Full Fw and will be ready for use,
ISSUES:
a) in D.Mode you have Product NULL, any model showing,
b) phone know message like: "efs impossible mount itc.."
c) after too much time phone Not enter in D.Mode whith JIG UNBRICK or UART CABLE,
SOLUTION:
a1) can be that you eMMc is damaged and have need replace it, this method work only if is Sw problem no work whith HW problem, replace you eMMc,
b1) easy solve this, search and Finf FULL EFS for you model and write it whith Odin or Box Samsung that support it, (i use Odin), wait end process and you phone is alive and working,
c1) in this case, ceck: 1) if you have download and used correct sdc .img file,
2) if you have used right "size" of micro sd card" ad file .img is not wrote for half, remember that for I9300/N7100/I9500 you can use also 2gb of Msc, (for sure use 4gb), 3) reformat Msc and write other time sdc .img file and repeat full procedure, 4) to be shure that UART cable or JIG Unbrick is working, Test whith other phone, from power off connect Uart or JIG and wait 3/5 sec.s if phone goes in D.Mode, if NO, then change Uart cable or Repair Jig, never you phone damaged can enter in D.Mode if you use wrong Uart Cable or Jig Unbrick not working!!!!
If you device NOT respond for nothingh after all these steps, please ceck you HW problem, short circuit, Power ic, Usb connector itc... shure you device have other type of problems....
Best regards

How can I unlocked the bootloader so that I can installed custom rom.

update rkimage from external storage: needs update.img
I have no other options because my pc is no more able to recognize my T-R42 B351 V1.1
Where can i found such files?

stock firmware you update using your computer with Rockchipbatch tool
- Download firmware from T-R42 B351 V1.0 and extract the file save it to your desktop.
- Press the recover button of T-R42 and don’t loose it. Then you can connect T-R42 and computer by using micro USB cable (OTG port of T-R42 to USB port of computer.
- You can now launch the Batch Tool by double clicking on the file named RKBatchTool in the folder where you extracted the Batch Tool 1.7 to. You should see the following:

You may be bricked. If so you can jump pins 8&9 on the nand chip to get it into MaskRom mode.
1.Load RKBatchTool with your ROM.
2.Connect only OTG cable - power is not required.
3.Hold power button down.
4.Short pins 8 and 9 with needle or pin until Batch tool display blue icon that is MaskRom mode.
5.Remove needle and load firmware into program.
6.Click restore and wait for success.
Hope this helps

I magnified the Toshiba chip and it is your nand chip. I use the end of a needle with the eye in it and be patient it might not work the first time just keep trying with the directions I gave you. As soon as you see the blue light in rkbatchtool come on remove the needle and restore. Good luck let me know . By the way the number one pin is the one by the dot on the chip and count down from there.

Hello,
thank you
counting starting from the pin no 1 (i suppose it is the pin on the corner near the dot on the chip, can you confirm?),
i tried with 6,7 and 7,8 and 8,9
but with no results
instead, shortening the 9,10 i get on the pc the message: 'unknown usb device' (like when i press the reset button) but RkBatchTool (v 1.7) does not go to Mask Rom Mode.
and i get this message only when the power adapter is connected
But seems that the NAND flash is not resetted:
turning off / on the device, i see that is loaded the same firmware (boot animation starts as before...and so on)
I supposed that this operation should reset the NAND flash, or i am wrong?
Thanks!

I don't think you are right, the dot is on the other side. So pin 8,9 should be on the other side.

i asked the datasheet to toshiba,
but they answered me they can not send informations to private persons ...
by the way... i tried with all pins 1,2 2,3 3,4 4,5 etc but there is no way to get the Mask Rom Mode...
the only message i get on my pc shortening some couple of pins (es.: 9,10, but also some others) is 'unknown USB device'... (and this happen only when i connect the power plug... when it is not connected i have no messages...)
(like when i press the reset button)

Click on All devices and then Have disk, browse to the tool folder and 32/64 bit usb driver and choose ini file
Install that driver.
- Unplug usb cable
2. STEP Preparing the savior
- Open TabControl.exe and right click on anywhere on tool, and then click Config
- Click on Import config and find the folder you extracted tool, then folder "ini" and choose the Jz4775--Nand-FINAL.ini
- Then click Manual config and where is uboot on the right "..." browse for the x-boot-nand.bin

[guide] repair hard bricked devices with deleted bootloader (sboot)

I'm writing this in android development section because this is only section for both models, i hope this is not a problem.
Also i want to say thanks to sataccount from gsmhosting, he found working map at the end.
This guide is for hard bricked phones, where bootloader is destroyed and there is no any tools which recognize phone.
When you connect phones without bootloader Windows detects them as exynos7420 in other devices in device manager.
All this is achieved using trial/error method and I still don't know real sboot map and where is what in sboot.bin.
What i found till now is that sboot consist from this parts:
1. fwbl1 bl1
2. bl2 bl2
3. el3_mon el3
4. bootloader bootloader
5. tzsw tzsw
I repaired my g925a and have files only for this model, but i will try to explain how to prepair files for any other model.
We have to use same version of bootloader which was previosly in phone, or if you are unsure use latest sboot.bin.
Download tools: http://www.mediafire.com/file/sg5m2ti3k6a63z5/USB_Down_Load_32bit.zip
In folder USB_DownLoad_Tool there is a folder Disk1
Connect phone and hold power button.
Windows will detect exynos7420 device, install Driver:
click manually,
com and lpt ports,
have disk,
point to data1 folder.
Don't run setup from Data1 folder!!!
Now we have to copy
WinDNWApi.dll
WinDNWApi.lib
in:
c:\Program Files\SAMSUNG\Exynos USB Driver\Drivers\
Probably there is no this folder, just create it and copy 2 files.
Don't copy WinDNWApi.dat as it is written in original manual, this file is for older exynos chip and procedure will not work, everything works without this file (it only has maps for 5250 and some other cpu)
Now we have to create boot files.
Download sboot.bin for your device, as i wrote best to find same bootloader which was in device before brick.
In some hex editor create 4 files (i'm using frhed, just click copy, enter offset, new file, paste, save and over again for all four files) with this map (again thanks to sataccount):
Novi1.bin 0..0x1FFF (size 0x2000 or 8192 )
Novi_2.bin 0x2000..0x31FFF (size 0x30000 or 196608)
Novi_3.bin 0x32000..0x3dfff (size 0xC000 or 49152)
Novi4.bin 0x3E000..10EFFF (size 0xD1000 or 856064)
This is all without tzsw. If phone still does not enter to odin mod, make last file from 0x3E000 to the end of the file (18F10F) and try again.
Start multiuploader.exe
Connect phone and hold power button.
Browse and find SH-usb-booting.cfg (in attached file proba folder, that is where you will probably prepare all boot files)
click start and phone will enter odin mode.
Start odin and flash sboot and everything else.
First of all thanx this is a real sharing is caring thing.I'm seeing a way to downgrade bootloader here as tzsw gets separated well this can be done by daring dev who can take risks.
I'm not sure about downgrading.
When i tried to repair my phone, first i tried with 5.1 sboot (eng and normal). It hangs on second file. It checks somethings before start to load real bootloader. Maybe to fill whole device with zeros with dd command (deleting pit can be enough, but also maybe it ignores PIT and read some specific bytes on sda) and then restoring phone as it is just builded in factory. Of course first to make backup of EFS etc...
Even with downgraded sboot, i'm not sure can we use 6.0 and 7.0 roms?
Best way is someone with IDA knowledge to find bytes for unlocking and we can write them to sboot with dd if="something" of =/dev/sdb bs=xx count=xy
At least it is now repairable if it is bricked after that
Good find, thanks.
How did you break the bootloader (sboot) anyway?
Dd if=sboot_from_925f of=/dev/block/sdb
I had engineering boot (kernel) with adb root access. And after that phone is dead.
On 925a sboot is on sdb (just sdb without numbers), cm.bin on sdc. Probably same on all variants.
Hi
I'm not sure I understood the hex files creation step.
Start byte : 0
End byte : 0x1FFF
Size : 8192 for Novi1.bin for example
Right ?
Yes, that's it
Just compare with my files if unsure.
OK Thanks
Congrats for this amazing guide
G928c dont know version inside.
I tried 7.0 but tool hang after novi1 transfer.
with android 6 sboot all 4 files transfer succeed but no download mode
if I do 0x3E000 to the end of the file, tool hang after 1st file.
according to customer 7.0 was inside before brick.
ok I tried different 7.0 which take me to on display usb recovery mode.
but phone not detected by pc after reset by keys now phone completely dead.
no exynos mode, no download mode nothing.
PC not sensing phone anymore.
Did you restore exynos mode?
Try to add tzsw ( novi4 should be from 0x3E000 to the end of sboot.bin).
yes I open phone and re-insert battery. Now exynos mode.
(novi4 should be from 0x3E000 to the end of sboot.bin) give me USB Recovery Mode. but as previous post no detection.
do sboot contain tzsw ?
if so what is address for tzsw ?
tzsw is from 10F000 to the end of file. But you added it and phone loaded when you made novi4 from 0x3E000 to the end of sboot.bin.
I think it is still problem with different sboot version, it must be same as version previously in phone. Try few more sboot bin.
You don't have to pull out battery, just press volume down and power for more then 20 seconds, it is same like you reinsert battery.
I reconfirmed version form client and he said he is sure about 7.0 version.
this variant have only 3 files of 7.0 and I tried all sboot from 3 available versions.

anyways thanks for this guide and your quick response.

I dd over sdb, BOTA0 BOTA1 RECOVERY CACHE and SYSTEM, am i sol on this one? Phone doesnt get detected by pc. Even tried unplugging the battery. For those curious why...I found out theres a partiton flag set on all of those partitions. Its SYSMAGIC X , X being a number. Lowering that number on the system by dd' ing sda18 and rebooting, results in a fw error, binary 3 device 4. Aka phone thinks system installed is lower then what it really is. I know u cant downgrade the bootloader using your method, but if u dump sdb, and edit the sysmagic line in a hex editor, dd it back. It will now be corrupt, I wonder if you can now downgrade to the version we faked. Anyone care to give it a trytry?

ROM / Firmware/ Brick Recovery for 7" Android Head Unit AC8227l YT9217 YT9218 1/16GB
Thanks everyone who contributed in my effort to fix my bricked device. Here is all that I have found useful in successfully reviving my device.
The files shared here are the ones that worked on my unit (see specs and pictures below) If your device is different, it may or may not work.
If the device has dedicated radio chip inside, the Firmware number will show as YT9218, if no radio chip, then it will show as YT9217
Note: if your device is not bricked, Make a full backup before trying another firmware.
I hope it helps. (donations are always welcome )
Memory dump:
firmware 20181222 HiFi: (Link) (thanks mazepa2000) (May 2019 update below)
Rooted TWRP firmware 20190523 HiFi: (Link)
Preloader (Boot_1) from other Similar Firmwares: (Link) <- Click again if it doesn't lead to the relevant post.
Download the one similar to your device's version.
Firmware via flash tool: Rooted TWRP 20190523 (Link) Thanks Maxkir
(You may need to remap side touch buttons in Factory settings (code 8888) -> Touch settings -> Click start -> Name of the button -> The button itself ->Repeat for all the buttons -> close -> ok).
Firmware for YT9213 Device: (Link) (Thanks pajurpl)
Update / Upgrade Files USB flash drive:
Firmware 20190522 HiFi: (Link) (Thanks foxgiggle , iSevenAuto)
Firmware 20190906: (Link)
MCU 3.1 (Link)(Thanks foxgiggle )
MCU 2.8 (Link) (Thanks lemmon and foxgiggle)
I hope it helps. (donations are always welcome )
Memory Dump Procedure via flashtool:
(Memory dump is only needed if you need full recovery from a backup. Otherwise you may only need to do the next part.)
Download and install MTK drivers. (Link)
Load scatter file and preloader (Link) in spflashtool. Press Ctrl Alt V , then go to Window and select "write memory". In file path select "user", in begin address put 0x0, In Region select the partition named "EMMC_USER". Hit Write memory. After that plug in the usb cable (connected to usb1 port). If the device is not detected, you need to power it on. If still not detected then you might need to short the two test points (see picture) (without power this time) and then plug in the usb cable. Remove the short when write process starts. Check if the issue is fixed. If its not fixed, then do the same to write boot2 and boot1 partitions as well. You may need to download Boot_1 specific to your original firmware from the link above.
Uploading Firmware (full or parts) via flashtool:
If you are uploading the firmware available in parts, you only need to upload "BOOTIMG" and "ANDROID" (SYSTEM).
You may also need to flash "RECOVERY". Remember to uncheck the preloader. Here is a nice instructions file. (Link) (thanks Maxkir)
There is more info and firmwares to chose from at 4pda forum.
Update / Upgrade Procedure via USB flash drive:
Copy the zip file (do not extract) to usb drive or microSD card, (formatted by SD Card Formatter). Connect to usb port 1 or 2. Go to Car Settings, System info. Click Android Upgrade.
--OR--
Extract the zip into a folder named XYAUTOUPG into the flash drive or microSD card, connect to usb port 1 or 2 and then reboot. Upgrade should start automatically. You might need to try with different USB drives or sd cards. For some reason this only works with certain usb and cards.
I hope it helps. (donations are always welcome )
MCU Upgrade Procedure via USB flash drive:
Extract the mcu file into flash drive or microSD card. Connect to usb port 1 or 2. Go into system info and update mcu.
Make a Full Backup/Memory Dump:
Open SPFlashtool, Select Memory Test Tab, Select only RAM Test (uncheck the rest), push start, and connect the unit. Save the information appeared, in a text file for later. (Read above "Memory dump procedure" for the usb connection setup).
Now go to ReadBack Tab, Double click on empty space next to tick mark, Select a folder where you want to store the dump file, and Type a name for the dump file you are going to creat, (ie. Boot_1, Boot_2, USER). Click Save. In next window "Readback block start address", select the region you want to make backup of (ie. EMMC_BOOT_1, EMMC_BOOT_2, EMMC_USER).
Start address is 0x0000000000000000
Length copy and paste from the text file you created earlier.
typically for Boot_1 and 2 the length is 0x0000000000400000
and for USER (16GB models) the length is 0x00000003a8000000
Click OK.
Now click on Readback and then connect the unit via usb cable. and Read process will start.
Do the same to make backup of all three partions. USER will take long time because its the largest partition.
RDS FM Radio:
Radio app with fixed RDS, channel names on buttons and HiFi: (Link) (thanks sjguk)
Copy to FMRadio directory /system/priv-app/FMRadio, rename to FMRadio.apk and change permission 764. (or 755 ?).
Channel name Editor: (Link) (thanks mclaught)
install as normal. You may need to install GalaPublicResources. Click top right dots.
I hope it helps. (donations are always welcome )
Multi Window Mode:
Go to root folder, look for build.prop. Open in text editor. Change the line ro.build.type=user to ro.build.type=userdebug.
If no such line is there, then simply add the line at the end. Save and exit. Go to Android settings, Developer options, look for multi window mode and enable it. Swipe down from the top of the window, Click on recent apps tile. You'll see the new multi window option there.
Subwoofer output Pin:
The default AUX_out pins are for mid range audio and is controlled by Mid slider in the mixer. The subwoofer output is on another pin (See Picture).
it is easy to remove one of the AUX_out pin and install it at the Sub output. this pin is controlled by Subw slider in the audio mixer.
Launchers UI1, UI2, UI4, UI5 (Link) (Thanks Maxkir)
Boot animation: (Resolution is 1024x600)
eg. (Link)
The animation preview didn't work for me, but I installed it anyway and it worked fine.
OBD Dongle Bluetooth Setting:
Open Bluetooth app, Click on settings, tap on the pin code "0000" and type in "1234" instead. Save settings.
Now search and connect the OBD dongle normally.
I hope it helps. (donations are always welcome )

All relevant info about ROMs and flashing you can find in top header of this russian forum.
Look at the spoilers in the gray header layer and use Google translate to understand what is written there.
There are 3 ROM versions for the 8227L based head units. I downloaded and installed the oldest of the 3 (rooted and TWRP IMG included). Copy all files from the RAR to a flashdrive in root folder.
Turn off the head unit.
Connect the flashdrive to USB 1 slot of the head unit.
Turn on the the head unit.
The install process starts immediately after turning on.
It takes about 10 minutes.
When install process is ready, turn off the head unit.
Detach the flashdrive.
Turn on the head unit and it will boot with factory settings like a new device....
Note that there are also ROMs for flashing wit MTC flash tool downloadable.
But the versions for installing from USB sticks ( po russki - dla flashky) are more comfortable to install and I don't own a Windows pc. So this variant was my favorite method...
Regards and good luck...
Edit: if your unRAR program asks for a password for unpacking the RAR file, then use Eazy unRAR app from Playstore on your Android device - it ignores password lock in RAR file ...
Edit2: the 5th gray spoiler in the top header of the Russian forum hosts the links to the ROM RAR files...
The USB flash drive method didn't work for me, Device doesn't detect USB while booting up. I tried everything, connecting the test points, pushing reset button etc. to no avail.
SP flash tool does seem to work, I have tried uploading several available roms, only these three uploaded successfully,
full_8227L_demo-userdebug 6.0 MRA58K 1534513814 test-keys
Заводская прошивка под флештул от 09.11.2018 UI1 с переводом
20181224 TWRP ROOT перевод и эквалайзер от ноябрьской
but didn't turn on the device. Device turns on but I get a black (backlit) screen. What else is there to try?

No luck with adb either.
seems like my only option is if I could get the exact ROM for this device and flash it. The seller was less than helpful, so Aliexpress refunded me in full.

Thanks for that, wow the memory dump is massive more than 4Gb! Did you use format and download or just download in the Flash tool? Do you know the files the scatter file took from the memory dump? So, you didn't use any files from the first download where you took the scatter file from? I'm still having a problem connecting to my PC may have to use the hardware forced (testpoint) method!
You need usb male to male cable, attach it to usb1 on the device. but not yet connect to pc. Run the sp flash tool. and select the correct scatter file. Then run which ever function you need. after that connect the usb cable to pc while connecting these two test points (picture) with a small piece of wire to each other. After it is recognised and operation starts, you can release the jumper wire.

Thanks, when I use the scatter file from the first download and put it with the files in the second download it only picks up the preloader file nothing else?
Hi, Scatter file is only needed to make sp flash tool recognise the partition table on the device. no need to download anything via scatter file. press Ctrl Alt V , then go to Window and select "write memory". Set start address to 0x00 Use this to write Boot_1 , Boot_2 and User, to EMMC_Boot_1, EMMC_Boot_2 and EMMC_User respectivly. thats it.
I hope it helps.
