[Q] How do you disable Emergency Alerts on the VZW Note 3? - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I feel like I'm going crazy here - everything I see via Googling says I should have an option to disable them on the "More" tab under messages -> settings. However, there are no options there?

I think I remember a setting in Messages previous to kitkat, but now it should have an actual app interface in your app drawer. I've seen it removed on some roms but it will be there if you have it. Going into this app gives you the ability to turn alerts on and off, however it doesn't allow you to turn off presidential alerts. I've simply uninstalled it via TiBu as mexiking713 suggested and have experienced to problems in any part of the apps I use. I believe it is safe to remove.

I uninstalled it myself without any issues.

[Q] "Recommended Shortcuts" with headset plugged in

Does anyone know how to get rid of this (in the notification dropdown)? I assume we'll need to wait for someone to create a mod for it but just checking to make sure I'm not missing a setting/option somewhere.
Thanks
I found no way. .. Can't wait for Slim Bean or AOKP to come on s4 so much crap.... It's depressing. ..

thanks....I figured we'd have to wait.

Try disabling the notification setting for the page buddy service. (Go to Application manager, find the page buddy service, and uncheck notification).

Thanks! There was an icon missing in mine after I ran debloater.bat. OCD

Expose earphone settings pagebuddyservice
I was able to expose the hidden menu in settings using Nova Launcher. I created shortcut->Activity->Settings->PageBuddy
Now I can enable/disable all or just earphones, dock or roaming on my AT&T S4.

[REQUEST] Swipe txt/mail notifications left/right to mark as read or delete

Hi guys!
I'm probably not the first one who thought about that, but I cannot find much about it here on xda and I'm curious why it hasn't already be done:
Wouldn't it be possible for devs to include an option to swipe notifications left to mark as read and right to delete (with an "undo" option popping up) in a similar way to the Gmail app? I don't know if this would work system-wide (say, for third-party apps like Whatsapp), but it should at least be possible for SMS and maybe the pre-installed exchange email app.
I think an option like this right inside the notification slide would come very handy for generic SMS no one ever reads like for example provider messages and the like.
What do you think?

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Although that would be useful, I don't think the swipe gesture returns any value to the application. Swipe just gets rid of the notification. The app wouldn't know if it was swiped left or right!
Besides if there are multiple notifications from same app won't all the messages get deleted then?

Hm I don't know much about developing, but if you were to mark it as read, won't the app need more permissions?
I mean in this case THE APP, say gmail, is going to your mailbox and marking the item as read and then returning that "read" value to the gmail servers, instead of your PHONE just avoiding the notification.
Then again I could be completely wrong here. I really don't know
You could also use a third party app : NotifierPro.
by desactivating the notifications from the sms app, and NP pops a banner that you can swipe left/right, to launch/read/dismiss. You can customize that.
But I guess that it would be nice too, to have it directly in the notification panel.

Lockscreen Notification Cards issue

I am getting these annoying Notification Cards on my lockscreen ever since the last Play Store Apps update. I have searched everywhere on my phone and can't seem to find the settings for these. Also, ever since these have started to appear on the lokcscreen, everytime I pick up my phone it automatically wakes up to show me these cards.
The phone is running on KitKat and all the heads up/off apk files dont seem to work for me as they are for Lollipop.
Can anyone tell me what is causing these to show up and how to disable this feature.

Thank you for the reply, but I couldn't find any specific setting as you mentioned "Cards on Lockscreen"
I even downgraded the app to the default version but still getting these cards.

Wifi toggle bringing up wifi settings

Whenever I press the wifi button to toggle it on or off, the wifi settings will get launched. It was not supposed to act that way unless I long-pressed on the wifi button. How can I fix this?

Well in the other thread you said you debloated so I'm thinking you removed a couple things you weren't supposed to.

Well, if that is true, what app could be missing for the functionality?

That's why it's recommended to make a nandroid backup before messing with stuff, or at least wow down the apps you ate removing so you can put them back.

I still have all the apps stored away somewhere. The thing is that I'm not sure if the problem was there before or after debloating. I'm just lazy of having to put the apps back and removing them again. I need someone to just point me in the right direction.

This seems to be something similar to a "Pie Control". Do you have a custom ROM that might have this feature?
Also, if it's a third party app you might find it under "Accessibility" in Settings. Some apps (like Pie Control) require permissions in Accessibility so if you disable them from there, it might stop happening (and also you might find out what app is causing this pop up)
unwanted apps
original OS delivered by the Cell Provider
nothing in accessibility so I went to Setting -> Device -> accessibility
under services I only have Enpass Autofill - off
Antivirus - ON
Keeper Fill - off
CELL ?? What model what network ??
