EVOReviews Wants to expand testing

Mods please delete this post, this didn't turn out at all how I wanted it to. I wasn't trying to get a new phone from anyone or anything like that, sorry I came off that way. I also wasn't trying to make any monetary gain. I just shot this thread up real quick before I went somewhere today and I obviously didn't think about how it would be perceived to everyone.

Please go back to the other side. We support our own developers and moderators who put in countless time and energey to develop, publish, and
answer. This is who we should support, and don't always properly do so.
And they don't come with their hands out telling us if we give them this, they will do that.

I mean....we do this here for free... I'm not sure exactly what service you offer, but other than putting out an opinion that is probably incredibly biased by your personal taste....doesn't seem like anything anyone would be interested in...

This looks like something xda frowns upon, and why would we buy you a new phone. I will gladly donate and help developers who bricked there phones to help the community. But this is like a homeless person begging for money..

This is what gets me....hell Domains are CHEAP, hosting is CHEAP. As many hits as you don't get a day, you could probably run a site for less than $50 a year.

Wow, I didn't mean to offend anyone, I just can't afford the phone to do the testing on, so I thought I would throw it out there. If someone I knew had the phone I would just borrow it from them every time a new kernel dropped for updating. Mods can remove this thread, offending people was the last thing I wanted.

Edit: Not to mention that you could get one with a bad ESN for even less.

Not to be a ****...but in my humble opinion, I like things the way they are. Gives noobs initiative to research first and to clarify issues. Throwing a ****load of roms (that are required to change their title already when updated) in one thread is gonna lead to alot of headaches unless you break down specifically the requirements of each one. I can see it now..."oh wow, I just bought this and look at all these roms. Ima load superclean 2.9 since it's the newest on my Ea28 fascinate!". **** noobs still come in here to ask how to fix there phones after flashing another phones rom...everyday. There should be a quiz that pops up asking you a series of questions about what you're about to do. Like a fail noob proof capcha. If you fail...a note pops up and says "read some more dumbass!"

lmao wow by far one of the best ideas I have seen here in the forums.

not that i don't entirely agree with some of the sentiments of the more senior members, but i was a complete noob w/ my 1st smartphone not too long ago so I can see how someone coming into this now after all of the DL09/EB01/EB16 releases can be overwhelmed...

Again, everyone is entitled to their opinions on a forum, so I'm not making any attacks toward anyone, but I feel like you know when your comment doesn't help the OP and only helps you feel better about walking into a post that annoys you... and maybe consider that there are people of all different ages and lives that may not allow for hours upon hours of catch up reading

While I agree that if such a form existed... at the end of the day it most really be useless.
People will still have the same questions about this and that rom, and term, and version of phone.. etc... and if you combine ALL those answers into one form, well I would maybe make it too the third or fourth page before I give up and move on. Like a lot of forums now, some are a thousand pages.
I'm sure many people will agree the next scenario, which I find myself in a fair bit. You just soft soft bricked your phone, or something new is released... 20 min later you're sitting down with 5 or 6 browser windows open, each one has 20 tabs, and you have 30 new bookmarks made just case there something you might need later from one those pages.
lol... i tell you guys, its awful messy sometimes.. Especially when a friend gives me a phone he bricked and I've never used the phone before.

He has been bumping dead threads for the past couple days and judging by his name "1997" that is prob the year he was born.....need i say more.

Wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to unlock OEM for the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G model G988U1 (z3q) and flash a custom ROM to it. I'm aware that certain models don't allow this and I'm hesitant to test it out from the posts that I've seen describing how to do it. I saw the same thing for my model of the Note 9 and soon after found out that it's not possible for my model of it. If anyone can confirm whether or not I can and provide a link to a thread that includes the sources to what I need or links directly to the things I need it'd be much appreciated.

What happened with the dump from the Unbranded/Dev/Test Device? Da_G?

Just wondered if there were any updates as to what was up with that one guys dev device that was unbranded and did have HSUPA enabled? Did you guys get a system dump and poke through it yet?

I was wondering the same thing. Agreed that things like these don't happen overnight, but the suspense is killing me. I hope Da_G and gang haven't given up on Atrix like some other devs.

Sorry if this is incorrect but I believe that design gears said he gave up on the attic in the thread where he posted the retail sbf

But Design Gears was a huge factor in any development done with the Atrix so far so having him gone is like a kick in the face.

Well i will add some information for you guys then...
Da_G does have a dump from a Dev Atrix that had a unlocked bootloader and hsupa enabled. He attempted to write(not flash) the unlocked bootloader to a locked atrix. The write was successful. but upon further inspection it appears that moto(unsurprisingly) has this area write protected. He did successfully write it(as he read the data back byte for bye and it was the same as written) but it appears that the data is mapped to another section of nand.
This as as far as hes gotten right now, i do not know what he is currently attempting.

There is a bounty thread already, should be enough as of now to buy a new atrix if im not mistaken. Its only going to get bigger...pretty good incentive. Id be shooting for it if i knew anything more than a few adb commands..

It means that porting ics to other devices should devices should be a lot easier. The more pieces we have the better a chance of it happening.

If u consider xda a mall, then yes I am lol. Still as I said, its a matter of courtesy. We are under no obligation to follow any request from other forums(that I'm aware of at least). I said something because paul is a huge figure as Android community goes and he deserves respect as does everyone. Android community is built on the backs of people liked him.
In comparison your post is pointless & if it want explicitly directed at me I would be removing it as it is unconstructive and is a direct attack (for lack of a better weird) on another user which is not tolerated. as it its I'll let it slide, but don't try and push it, I doubt another mod will do the same.

I'd like to offer my phone to the dev community to be used to achieve unlock/s-off.
If the person is jcase or a similarly well known devs for providing such things(Unlimited.Io team) I'll be willing to let them borrow it for the project, otherwise I'll be willing to setup a remote connection on an extra computer I have for them to work with.

@jcase I know you have said you aren't interested, but if you can pass around the word in your circles I would appreciate it.

unsure if Jcase Owns a One
Fuses has a One GSM unit
I talk to beaups quite a bit and can inquire if this would help him in any way
