Yea I've been wondering the same thing.
Why don't you root and flash the mod ?

You need to root then do the mod to get them to work
You can always unroot after flashing the mod if it is that much of a problem to be rooted.
Why not just root the phone? No harm done in rooting, right??
I was just hoping to stay stick for a while, but I guess that's not going to happen.

you can stay stock if you want yet still root. I have yet to flash a custom rom but been rooted since day 1.
Wow, the rooting process is so much easier and faster than on the original evo. It's like I barely had to do anything. Thanks for the help everyone, it was definitely worth rooting.

Updating/Restoring question

I asked this before but didn't get a good answer.
Why is it that you can update to a mj7 rom and an mj7 baseband, yet still be able to restore to my mi9 backup? What is not updating that allows me to go back I'm missing something.

root - mobileiron

Hey guys! So i just switched from a sprint note 3 to a verizon note 3. I NEED root but my company uses mobile iron. Is there a way to use it and keep root?
Also whats the best way to root this? All I want is root no custom recover.
haha good bc cystom recovery isn't possible atm on retail verizon note 3. seems like vroot is the only way to go right now without tripping knox but do ur research.

believe it or not I like the stock rom (this is the first phone I have ever been able to say that with)
So vroot... hmmm I shall look into it. But I still need to know about the mobile iron.
well I should have been more specific we can flash roms and some mods with safestrap (a sorta of custom bootloader workaroundl). but we do not have the ability to flash custom kernels.

Try Rootcloak to hide root from the app. Works for another MDM software similar to that.
Edit:
Use the one from xposed framework. In not sure if the one from the play store works.
Can you link me to it?

Ok so kingo did not work.. Vroot. Did the trick. I did a factory reset after that and now I'm rooted. I loaded the new framework and root cloak. I will let you all know of it works.

N900A on att wanting to root

Nothing?

Edit: as the phone has a locked bootloader, it gets more complicated.
You'd have better luck on AT&T's Note 3 section than here. We have locked bootloaders, and have to use a couple workarounds to get rooted on LP.
Here's the thread for stock rooted LP 5.0 OC2
Basically, you have to Odin back to NC2 (official), root/bb/su/etc., reboot into safestrap & flash the ROM above.
Darn, I had no idea that ATT was still doing that.
Thanks guys... my original note was easy to root this one not so much

What news?
I have a notification on my phone for update trying to figure out if it will break root. Been thinking about using flash fire to go back anyway to get xposed back.

Of course it will break root. Most of the updates are about security
