I accidentally totally discharged my N4 and now t has been on recharge for over 2 hours.....when I turn it on now, the little battery displayd appears to be FULL.....BUT.....it does not start up like Normal. Is this Normal? Will it start up as it used to - after some more time? I HOPE so - this is my 2nd one.
Thanks, michael
Hold the power button longer, for about 3-4 seconds or hold volume down pressed and than press the power button. It should power on in bootloader mode, simply press power again and it should boot into system now.

If I long press the power button, it asks me if I want to turn off my Xoom.
Long press of power then restarts the Xoom.
This is preforming a reset/reboot, correct?
What does the combination Vol. up+power accomplish, something different?
Thanks

When you long press the power button you are asking the xoom to perform a shutdown.
When you press volume up + power you are forcing a shutdown. I had my xoom freeze up in me once and the power button long press did nothing. I had to use the volume up + power to shut the zoom down.

Phone is super slow and the sound is messed up. I want to switch the phone back to original state with WM installed.
I cannot seem to get the phone back in tri color mode.
Power + Volume brings aMAGLDR V1.13
What am I doing wrong? Is there any other way to force the phone in tri color boot mode?
Thanks,
make sure phone is off then only press volume - button and then press power button.
it sounds like your waiting to long to hold the vol down and power button. you need to do that before the splash screen pops up, if the splash screen shows up its already to late. pull the battery out & then place it back in..hold power for just a split second and then press vol down. im not sure why but this seems to boot a little quicker for me doing it this way then holding power and vol down at the same time from the start.
Still no luck.
Remove the battery.
Press and hold "Vol down" key
Press Power for 2 sec.
Wait for 10 + sec. nothing happens.
Press and hold "Vol down" key
Press Power for 4 sec.

Guy....just HOLD VolDown and press SHORT power button.
Are you sure your volume down button works?
It doesn't matter if you short press or long press the power button it works either way the main thing is the phone has to be completely off before first pressing and holding the volume down button and while it is still down press the power button and keep the volume down pressed until bootloader screen appears.
You can also try, with the phone off or on, press the volume down button and then press something into the reset button under the battery door quickly and keep holding the volume down button.
If none of these work let me know exactly what happens after you try these. Where does it go, does it start Android?

It looks like the problem is the volume button.
I let the phone boot normally.
I noticed if I press the volume up button then the animation for vluome come up on the screen but if I press the volume down button animation does not appear.
Therefore, when I hold the volume down and press reset button, phone boots normally. I guess I am out of luck?
I am not sure how to bypass this problem but there have been others with your same problem search the other general forums for volume down button broken or something like that and I am sure there is some way to remap your buttons

I don't think that you can remap it so it works on that early time on bootup.

Try to hold down both UP + DOWN vol and then press POWER. Keep on holding it until you see the TRI color screen. This is a hard reset method, hope this works.
Just curious what ROM you currently running on the phone?
when in magldr can you scroll down? if so then the volume down works. magldr wont let you charge the phone in an off state so if you can scroll down. shut off phone or pull battery and wait like 15 seconds, than hold down the volume button than plug the phone in and you should be in tri-color screen if not than you need a new phone. hope this helps a little.
Long press power button no longer works for us on the S5 to shutdown or reset the phone.
What to do if you're stuck in a bootloop and need to soft reset so you can get into recovery:
To get into recovery:
Long press power + volume down reboots the phone.
Wait for it to vibrate and immediately switch to volume up + keep holding power + home key.
Once you see 'Recovery Booting' (in dark blue, top left) release the keys.
To get into download mode:
Wait for it to vibrate and immediately press the home key + keep holding power + keep holding volume down.
Timing is a little critical but at least I don't have to pull the battery every time I get stuck testing something and want to get into recovery to fix it.
Ty sir, good to no.

I actually just had this problem and had to phone a friend (switched to the S5 this weekend and ran into a boot loop problem while doing some of my final restorations... it's the reason they're last!).
Didn't do this exact thing as I had ended up pulling the battery out when the Power - Volume Up - Home combo hadn't been working for me. If it happens again, I know this is here!
I flashed the 5.0 OTA update, and everything went smoothly. Lollipop is working well, but I was going to flash the incremental updates so I can have 5.0.1.
Everything works until I try the button combo to get recovery to start. I press VOL DOWN + Power, get into fastboot mode, boot into recovery and I can see the Android with red triangle. However, when I press VOL DOWN + VOL UP and then tap the Power button, nothing happens.
Any advice?

I've tried it multiple times, but the options still don't come up.
EDIT: Nevermind, I had to wait for a couple minutes and then I button mashed it and the options finally came up. Thanks!
I observed the same thing. Its a crapshoot... Looks like a bug in lollipop.
The button combination changed on Lollipop.
Hold the power button 4-5 secs and tap the volume up button.
Hit thanks

Wow, lol. Thanks for this!
For KitKat recovery, the button sequence is: hold down UP and then press POWER
For Lollipop recovery, the button sequence is: hold down POWER and then press UP
my OP6T is bricked and I have to turn it off to repair it with the volume + - command.
How do I turn it off? There is a special combination of buttons?
Hold volume-up, volume-down, and power buttons simultaneously. After a few seconds, it should reboot. Immediately after rebooting, hold volume-down and power buttons to get to recovery. Select power off in recovery.

I already tried but when I press turn off it has put the recovery mode back and now it's bricked on the screen where there is the message that says the phone is bricked.
Thanks anyway.

I just went through this same thing last night with my OP6. Make sure the device is unplugged from the computer, or any other power sources. Select Power Off and immediately hold the volume + button for 5 seconds and while still holding volume + plug it into your PC.
It's okay I turn off and my phone is good now.
