Try to upsate to official 4.4.2

Asking for best ROM is not allowed on xda-developers. There is simply no best ROM. It's like walking into a bar and asking which drink is the best. You can't get your answer because every person around has a personal taste and looking for something different.
Developers have worked very hard to make them perfect, however every ROM has it's own pros and cons. You have to find the ROM, which suits your needs and wishes. Telling that one is better than another is also quite disrespectful towards the developer(s).

Mod Edit
"Best" or "Recommend" ROM / Kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself. That is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then,
you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.

[Q] Verizon S5 ROM Suggestions

Hey Guys -
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about stable ROM's for the Verizon Samsung S5? I'm going to downgrade my 5.0 to 4.4.4 (using this guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-downgrade-lollipop-5-0-to-kitkat-t3088571) and do all that stuff, but I wasn't sure if there are any restraints on the type of ROM's you can flash. It's my understanding that Cyanogen doesn't have anything besides nightlies right now for the Verizon S5?
Thanks in advance!
K
You need to use one of the roms from the development forum for the verizon s5. It doesn't have an unlocked bootloader, so Cyanogen won't even run. Most roms on the forums are generally stable, but the most stable are either stock rooted or extremely debloated ones.
What is best is always subjective. What may be best for one person is not best for someone else.
We recommend you take a look read all the available ROMs decide which one you want to try out and determine for yourself.
Always give the rom at least 1 week to settle in and use before making a decision.
Thread is being moved to Q&A section as you are asking a question and looking for guidance.

[Q] Custom ROM, which and why?

Hi, I wanted to try a costum ROM on my note 3 because the official note 3 ROM has a lot of unwanted apps that just fills up my memory.
Looking on the threads, I see a lot of custom ROMs available that doesn't make it easy to start. So my question is which costum ROM do you prefer and why will you recommend me to get that one? Thank you in advanced!!
Just in case, my model is the one on the screen shot
Why don't you start with one where you understand the instructions .

I'd say go for Temasek's CM12.1 AOSP ROM. It's MUCH smaller than any stock Rom, & support is pretty good and it FLIES. I've now posted 2 Antutu scores over 49,000 - and I know benchmark scores are not real life performance but I never got over a 44,000 in any stock ROM.
If you want to stay based in stock, a very good custom ROM is Alliance ROM - think it's at v8.1 now.
HOWEVR, and this applies no mater what ROM you look at... READ, READ, READ... Learn what rooting is, learn about Recovery and why Odin on the PC is necessary. The more you understand about what you are trying to do the less likely you are to be posting back in the Q&A with... "Help! My phone is bricked!"
As you can see I have a exynos Chip so I need a ROM compatible to that.
I had done flashing in the passed when I have my Samsung Galaxy Duos so I have read a bit. But there are soooooooo much ROMs now that I dared to ask the question
Sent from my SM-N900 using XDA Free mobile app
Your choice of roms for N900 is limited to these .

"what is best rom" posts are not allowed in the forum, read the rules.
there are so many different roms, and everyone has their own favorites. What's best for one person is not best for everyone. You need to try them yourself, and see which one works best for you.
the devs work very hard and it's not fair to say one rom is 'best'.

Which stable but speedy and debloated ROM for gf?

Hello everyone,
I personally never owned a Samsung device (always Nexus and mostly with Paranoid Android or Dirty Unicorns ROM) but my girlfriend has one and she defeniately needs it to be flashed :good:
As I am completely new to Samsung devices, I have no idea about all the developers and different ROMs that are out there for the Samsung Note 4 (Snapdragon).
I don't have much time to try around with different ROMs as it isn't my phone.
I need one that is good, stable, fast (and also supports the stylus / samsung apps). So I can flash it quickly and have a happy girlfriend
So that is the reason I an asking in the first place. Else I would just flash around and keep trying until I find the best fit.
I saw CM is officially supporting the Note 4. So that one might be a good solution. But does it have all those stylus samsung stuff?
Any other ROMs I should check out?
Do I need to flash a new radio?
Thanks in advance and sorry for posting another "which ROM" thread. But I can't really test around to find out on my own as it is not my device that I am going to improve !
If n910g, this is highly recommended, although you have to disable or uninstall later all apps that you don't want if you want a debloated rom.

It is N910F.
The link you provided is simply stock android MM?
Yes stock MM, stock is in my experience the most stable and bug free rom build. But the link is for n910g unfortunately.
Stock ROM, and then debloat yourself. Quite honestly speaking, and no offence to anyone, there are no good ROMs available for Note 4. In fact I myself might have not got the phone if I realised the development section is like this. And I am not interested in ported ROMs, so even though there are many available I won't go that way, and I am too dumb to make a ROM for myself, so stock ROM it is.
I agree, stock rom rooted and debloat it, and apply msm tweaks. If you want, xposed as well.

You must flash samsung based rom to have all soen features and samsung apps. I reconnemed kurama rom which in using , its battery friendly, fast and stock based. If you going to flash kurama rom you must flash modem and bootloader for the rom to boot up (only can be flashed from pc with odin)

Performance with Custom ROM Oreo/Nougat vs Stock Lollipop on S4?

Hello guys,
Sorry if this has been asked many times before. I'm really curious about the performance of Nougat or Oreo using a Custom ROM versus the stock Lollipop on an S4 I9505.
Do the Custom ROMS of Nougat/Oreo really improve the performance on an I9505 compared to the stock Lollipop? How about the battery?
Really looking forward to answers regarding this.
Anyone who knows this or could test this out of me?
Everyone has different needs whereby one custom ROM may be perfect for one person and a stock ROM is perfect for another person.
I highly recommend reading through the custom ROM forum, selecting a few to try, and using it over a few days with your most-used apps.

Thanks for your answer. Is there a specific custom ROM with Oreo/Nougat that you might have in mind when it comes to performance?
Unfortunately, I can't provide any recommendations since I haven't had a working s4 for a months.
