Hello, should I use my l5 with stock rom with overclock or user cm11?
What do you guys think?
Depends what u expect to have.
If you want quite new android and good battery life then flash CM10.1.
If you dont care just want to stable rom and all working flash CM10.
If you want everything newest then CM11.
Dont stick on stock
Thanks
in beta 9.1 cm11 is really slow, does it happen to you?
Nope its smooth as butter
Are you using ART or Dalvik?
Mine isnt like that, it's so slow.
Dalvik

Since cm11 beta 9.1 has a wonderful battery life (no drain anymore!) I see no reason to stay in stock rom. Only if you use fm radio or nfc.

Hi all,
I'm using the GT540 stock 1.6 version and want to upgrade.
Please comment which ROM is the most fast and stable.

The newest is good

In my opinion - LittleBrother (Froyo-Android 2.2). To install it:
1. Install 2.1 without fastboot by KDZ.
2. Install 2.1 with fastboot by KDZ.
3. Download SDK and drivers and install LittleBrother by fastboot with this commands:
fastboot -w
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot reboot

Is this ROM already over clock?
I verify the link there are 2 kinds of ROM, fastboot and recovery.
What's the difference?
the best rom in my opinion would be cyangenmod 7.1.0 m5 by Mur4ik very fast and very stable
First get it to stock 2.1. xD
Then, let's talk about custom ROMs.
Most of the custom ROMs are pretty fast and stable but I'd highly recommend that you check out 2.1 from LG first. The 2.1 on GT540 is one of the fastest and most responsive ports.
just go this website h**p://swiftdroid.comlu.com/the websites theme's got a problem but they have every thing u need ROMS, kdz, apps and tutorials
change the * to t
The CM7 SwiftDroid (v2.0 M6) by Mur4ik is fast and stable but the in-call speaker sound volume is just to low for me, barely unheard in a meeting room.
That's why I choose Joestone's Clean Android 2.3.2 AOSP, it's also very fast.
Hmmm is there like anything better about swiftdroid (2.3.3)then clean android (2.3.2) I would like to find out before updating from swiftdroid m5 to m6

Not a lot really. Both are in development ROMs.
Swiftdroid is based on CM7. It's basically a hacked/modified ROM that is meant to bring the best out of the phone. Joe's Gingerbread is AOSP. It's purely based on Android 2.3.2 by Google.
Swiftdroid has all features working except Flash Lite, Hardware based video decoding and Exchange/EMail. It's pretty stable but not as stable stock 2.1
Joe's Gingerbread is also very stable and fast. Not as fast as swiftdroid. It has Exchange but Voice input and Flash Lite doesn't seem to be working.
I'd prefer Joe's Gingerbread over Swiftdroid since I prefer AOSP than the hacked up CM builds. However, am using Swiftdroid since it supports voice input.
Until both the ROMs reach a stage where all the stock features work well or where development has stopped completely, you can't really chose one over the another. Even after that, it's all a matter of personal preference.
if you are looking for stability try to stay on 2.1 roms based on LG kernel ... they are fast and hardware .avi works
mikegapinski
the problem with the stock 2.1 is that it's by far the most stable (it is stock after all), but 2.1 is slower than 2.2/2.3

Swiftdroid 2.0 M6 is the most stable ROM so far.

I love Unofficial AOKP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441462
Many more customization options than NexusHD2 ICS (which I find useless). And battery and speed is great.
Thx
And the stability of this ROM ?
because Nexus HD2 that I tested was a Bugged release

all ics are not stable for now because it dont'have a full hardware accelleration but only an hack.
if you like stability put an gingerbread rom
I would go with xylo's aokp unofficial build. its getting closer and closer to a final, only thing missing is full hwa, but its definetly a great daily driver.
I'm using NexusHD2 ICS V 1.6 Of course there is no ICS rom with full Hardware acceleration for the HD2. This rom is very smooth as i use it everyday. The battery life is VERY GOOD (i get about 23 hours on moderate use).
there is no best mate, just "better", if u want fast, then go for AOKP aka IceCreamTosti, if u prefer a stable want, choose Nexus ICS CM9 from tytung's thread
I'm using the AOKP rom, dont have any real problems with it.
I'm also using Xylograph's unofficial AOKP rom without stability problems.
Thanks guys for your feedback
+1 Xylograph's unofficial AOKP rom
NexusHD2 is nice.
cm9 beta1 leo with hwa. I ve been using it and its stable and fast.
Out of the Nexus v1.6 and the ice cream Toastie rom is there anything that doesnt work on each rom? ie marketplace, camera
It appears to me that these two are the most popular SD ICS Roms - i want to make a choice between the two without testing really so any input will be greatly appreciated
THANKS LOVE XDA
You really should try it!

Hey guys i was wandering if someone could help me out, I am interested in installing Cyangenmod but there are so many different versions.
I was hoping a few of you could give me you experience of using CM i.e. bugs etc.? Which version is the most stable?
I am running the UK Snapdragon 800 N9005 version..
thanks.
I can't say for other roms but I'm running temaseks cm ROM. Works on both bootloaders as well. Stable as hell for me.

skernel rc3
I'm also getting ready to try the Caliban rom since already have skernel. 3000+ posts and I don't think the 9.5 rom is viable for daily use. If cyanhacker doesn't perform much better, I'll try ockernel and gb roms.
edit: So I ran several patches on the 9.5 rom and then flashed skernel rc3 and it is behaving soo much better.

Whats is the best rom for performance and stability?(currently using Motion rom v17 with Renix kernel but i get a lot of random reboots)
I have Motion LL v17 with eMotion Kernel by Sev3n and no random reboots, ect. - it's smooth, fast and stable.
I had CM 12.1 RR 5.5.8 before with Renix Kernel and it was the same like Motion v17
The Renix Kernel only brought me problems. Try Motion Rom with the eMotion Kernel by @Sev3n and you're going to have the ROM with almost no bugs.

If you have the Renix Kernel I think not. At least for me it didn't work. But try it for yourself! If you try to flash and it fails, just reinstall the ROM and flash the Kernel

I get about 4 hours on stock, with a lot of apps and usage, wifi all time and brightnes at least 20% but no more than 50% or half the brighness bar.. Moderate use goes 5 SOT in about 15 ~ 18 hours total. If i use it non stop directly from unplugging I can reach 6 hours SOT.
