Put your phone into Download Mode, then get the correct region Odin file and flash it.
Download it from www.sammobile.com/firmwares/

What in god's name are you talking about? N9005 has an unlocked bootloader EVERYWHERE around the world.
Regardless what ROM he is on, he said AOSP - which is stock Google.

Dude - really?
1. You're on the N9005 forums - get your sh*t together and don't provide false information based on experience on another device - THIS IS THE SOLE REASON WHY EVERYONE TRIPS KNOX WITHOUT KNOWING ABOUT KNOX DURING ROOT - listening to the wrong people, trusting the wrong people and thinking that you know everything.
2. If you want to go talk about bootloaders go elsewhere, as this is an N9005 forum, we have NO bootloader locks to worry about.
3. ASOP 4.4.4 == AOSP 4.4.4. It's called a typo. You don't need to know the ROM name to understand that it is a typo. Even simple logic would get you to this conclusion.
4. If you want to help, provide correct information, instead of misleading already mislead users - and then trying to correct a person on the forums who's been writing guides and tutorials and fixes for this device all day long - while answering dozens of Google+ queries about rooting Note 3 or flashing stock.
So please, if you want to provide useful information, don't be one of those people who runs around thinking they know everything when in fact a) everything is unrelated in all your posts and b) proving yourself "right" but still showing that you lack all sorts of knowledge of the matter of fact.
If you still think you're helping positively, I'd like to see the first case of a person locking their N9005 bootloader for fun - make a video about it too while you're at it, I'd love to sit and watch.
@tobia996 - Follow my post above and you'll get to stock, without all this bootloader lock nonsense. N9005 all have an unlocked bootloader, whatever this guy said just don't even let it bat an eye.

Another question? After flashing the image with Odin, some apps remain in the device... So I've done a facotory reset. Does it erease all my personal data, included the emulated sd?

[Q] Hey all. New here. Few questions.

HI there folks,
I am a newborn noob here. Would like to introduce myself.
I have recently bought the first Android device I have ever owned which is the i9500 Octa Core and I am loving it, I have found that Android is 100000000000x999 times better than any other mobile operating system and so I have a huge interest in it. Have been reading about it for a month now and I want to do many things to my device but unfortunately can't because the i9500 does not get much love, especially here in South Africa, where Samsung can't even provide us with the latest firmware update.
I really want to root & flash my phone however I don't want to Void my warranty and I know that the Triangle Away app can remove the flash counter however it does not support i9500 Octa yet...
I am an experienced Graphic Designer, have been doing it for 5 years using Photoshop and sometimes CorelDraw, so if anyone would like me to help out with designs for their applications, I don't mind helping out.
I have a lot of knowledge about Computers and Cellphones however not enough about Linux based systems, that is why I am here, to learn, learn and learn.
Also I wanted to ask if I can put Google Stock Android OS 4.2 or 4.3 on my i9500 Octa instead of using Samsung's crappy TouchWiz? Is it possible?

Welcome to S4 Family !!
1. Well In Case if you root the Phone warranty Gets Voided. You Can Hop Over to Here and FLash a pre rooted latest firmware according to Your Choice. Or You Can root it using Cf root by Chain fire and when you need to Give it In for warranty you can just factory reset and it gets Official again.
2. Google edition is Not Yet Ported to I9500 and A dev is already porting it for time being we dont have much choices for Roms
3. If You dont Need touchwiz you can just download some other launcher like Nova apex and Get the Bare android Feel

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Well lets say I did what you said in number 1, I flash it with a pre-rooted stock ROM, however wont it show that I have flashed it with the flash counter or something like that? Won't that still void my warranty?
I am using Nova with Holo Locker, its way faster and looks nicer however I wont the PURE android experience hahaha

Ok thanks alot manu44. I have another question though, ok I am in South Africa and we only have the XXUAMDK firmware available, however I want to be with the latest one XXUBMF8, so in order to keep the pre-installed service provider app and internet settings, can't I just use the PDA via ODIN without the MODEM CSC & BOOTLOADER? I have no idea why there is 4 downloads, what do these PDA, CSC, MODEM & BOOTLOADER do anyway?
Sorry it's my first time doing this and all this stuff is making me nervous, I don't want to do it wrong and brick my phone.
Thank you for the help.

Your welcome. Yes You dont Need to Flash all of them Just The Main Rom and CSC file for South Africa. Bootloader and PIt is required in case u have damaged partition table or boot loader.
So Just Pick the Latest Firmware File and The Right CSC fro Your Country.

downgrade confirmation

hello guys
I have a sm-n900.....it came upgraded to kitkat in the box
although the performance of the phone is mind blowing but I feel it is a battery draimer......and also I read reviews on net that people with jellybean used to have their battery last more than one day with usual udage but in my case it is only upto 16-17 hrs
I thought of downgrading to jellybean and went to service cemtre where they told me that downgrading in not possible in note 3
I then searched at home and found it is bit complicated and if we do we may loose update to kitkat if we want afterwards
like in my earlier s2 (i9100) and note (n7000) I could flash any firmware anytime
but wat to do downgrade this to jellybean without loosing the possibilities of update to kitkat
plz someone
I know people are here having far big issues compared to mine
but I would be really happy is someone would guide me through this

The reason you are not getting any response is because this question has been asked 59 billion times a day since KK rolled out, and the other million plus members who are aware of it are restraining themselves through giant facepalms.
In short, no, there is no way to downgrade.

I rooted via CF-AutoRoot (as my signature indicates below) and there were no problems. For me, KitKat is working perfectly in every respect.
No, you cannot reset the Knox binary trigger. I could not possibly care any less about it at this point in time.
I plan to use the device until something better comes along, then sell it, so why worry about it?

You need to do some searching on the site. All these questions have answers that have been gone over and over.
Early 4.3 users could root their phone but Knox gets tripped. RDLV method worked then without tripping Knox up till MJ3 of 4.3. Anything above that as stock and Knox gets tripped. KitKat goes one step further in that you cannot revert to 4.3 at all, even if you are willing to trip Knox.
You can root the phone but AFAIK (I haven't bothered with KK - my phone runs brilliantly on v6 (4.3) Omega) you trip Knox anyway you do it.
Knox 0x1 may or may not doom your warranty - somecountries have laws that say Samsung cannot quirm out of hardware problems by claiming software changes. You may or may not care about Knox. Mine is a grey import from HK that I had all kinds of fun getting over to a non-freaky ROM, so when it eventually triggered Knox I didn't give a toss. I did root the phone with RDLV and changed ROMs several times before something that shouldn't have, tripped the Knox bit.
Now there is about as brief a history as you will get. Use what is in it to go search and find any more complete answers.
Always search before asking basic questions - at the least it means you will be able to ask intelligent questions, not ones you can find by looking at the titles of recent posts in Q&A forums.

They'd just boot to Download mode and see the Knox flag.
I don't care about it, honestly. If I ever need warranty assistance, I'd just hope for the best, but since it's Samsung, I'd expect the worst.

You should be able to use another mode. When you connect via USB, swipe down the Notification bar and there should be a Notify there you can tap to choose other modes.
You might need to go into Build Number (Settings/About Phone) and tap 7 times to turn on Developer mode and then turn on USB Debug. (not sure as that's always one of the first things I do)
Unless you are the only person on the planet who sees a need for Knox, you don't need to DL anything to do with Knox. Check in Application Manager and see if you can turn all of it off.

Interesting question. Do you find you can easily sell your rooted/modified phones?
I'm always concerned that people won't want to buy a rooted phone that's potentially been flashed 100+ times with possible excessive CPU over-clocking etc. I always try to put the phone back to stock (or as close as possible) before I sell it on.
Is it just me who feels those concerns?

Well, in my region, the vast majority of buyers don't even know what root is, so it's never been an issue for me. I don't expect that to change anytime soon. The Note 3 doesn't show any issues at all when reflashed unless Knox flag is tripped. Even then, the only "issue" is the warranty bit flag shown in Download mode and the loss of Knox container, which almost nobody uses. Out of a 100 buyers, you might find one that knows what root is and less than that who know how to get to Download mode, and even fewer who'd potentially use Knox, so no, not a problem.

[Q] Installing Another country on my note 4 and few questions!

Hi, im tired of waiting for Lollipop on my note 4, i have N910HXXU1ANK5 and i was thinking about flashing the other country's firmware, how much is the risk of bricking my device? i pad 800$ for this and im extremely scared! its so much compared to my previous nexus 4 on my old nexus 4 is was like fastboot unlock and tada! its a bit harder in here and i bricked my old n7000 so i rather be careful this time!
Generally how much is the risk of bricking a note 4! what could cause it! i know in general its wrong firmware but like the old n7000 factory reset on ics would kill it and which it did is there anything special like that with the note 4? just be sure too check rom versions?
and what should i do to install 910C on my 910H? what happens if i do something wrong?(soft or hardbrick?)
sorry if this thread sounds stupid, but im going to be 100% sure before i do this as i paid my whole life savings on this
thanks!
From my understanding of the 910h, it is a 3g unlocked note 4. What service are you currently running it through? I just got the lollipop update from verizon a couple of days ago. Before the update came out I got a taste of what lollipop would be like by switching my runtime in the developer options. After the update there isn't too much of a difference. Just color scheme of messaging and some animated pointer click detection and top and bottom wave animation on screen when fully at the top or bottom while scrolling. If you want to get the same performance with your apps as lollipop is running right now, simply go to developer options in your settings, then select runtime, then change from dalvik to ART. Then you won't have to worry about bricking your phone at all.

Root for my phone isn't available yet. Comes stock with knox. There's actually a bounty for a verizon and at&t root method right now, so I'm going to have to hook mine up to my Linux based computer and see what I can do. The biggest risk is of course bricking your device by installing another country. I've been rooting devices since froyo was being developed. I've bricked and unbricked a few of my own devices. Unbricking is usually not easy. Because your partition is more than likely specifically for 910h you'd have to repartition it for the 910c that you would want to install. Make sure to make a copy of the 910h partition before you start. Also copy all of the .rar, .tar, .md5 files that are on the device currently. Haven't done it for about a year myself, but if I remember correctly there are 5-7 of them. One for the modem, etc.

Generally how much is the risk of bricking a note 4! what could cause it! i know in general its wrong firmware but like the old n7000 factory reset on ics would kill it and which it did is there anything special like that with the note 4? just be sure too check rom versions?
and what should i do to install 910C on my 910H? what happens if i do something wrong?(soft or hardbrick?)
sorry if this thread sounds stupid, but im going to be 100% sure before i do this as i paid my whole life savings on this
thanks!

Lets start, its too hard on todays day to brick a device, there are a lot more work around, its not 2011 anymore, the only thing u need to be able to do right is READING, without insulting nobody if you can read then your fine, reading and following all steps on this forum is a key. You can flash anything u want on ur phone WHILE ITS MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUR N910x MODEL, if ur not rooted yet, go and root it, it takes 2 minutes, remember the key READING, then you can make ur own research by reading the Development section, after u have done rooting and flashing a custom recovery, most people use TWPR, then ur good to go. If you just want a stock experience, then go to sammobile website, search ur model number, and download the stock rom, this you will have to flash it using ODIN, but like a said, by READING, you have NOTHING to worry. Remember if something happens to ur device, this is just to have it in mind,
WHILE U CAN ACCESS DOWNLOAD MODE VIA VOLUME DOWN+HOME+POWER, YOU ARE SAFE MY FRIEND, GOOD LUCK

[UTILITY]Factory Binary -- Service Firmware for G920F only!

Hello every one!!!!
i am not sure if i am posting this in the correct section, if not forgive me, but i am not sure where to post this..
SO... long story short: i went to service because i had to fix imei (which i still have to be done) so i went to pick up the phone not fixed (too expensive in that lab), and i found out there is a SERVICE FIRMWARE on it!!!
first thing i did was dumping it of course i am providing now links to it and to the kernel shipped along with..
ODIN FLASHABLE
RECOVERY FLASHABLE
note:
- both require a factory reset to start, if you do it from custom recovery you can skip format sdcard, but still need to wipe data
- odin flashable already is rooted and has su app installed by me, for the recovery one you can simply flash SuperSuUpdate.zip
most interesting stuffs are a permissive from stock kernel, there are some service apps, which unfortunately are not fixing my problem, and only allow to run tests basically, apart some really small edits to connection and usb or HW tests.. another interesting thing is that the firmware has a sort of AOSP base but need tons of work to have it fully functional.. F.e setting is "aosp" looking and works also on stock roms, but some part are FC because code is missing; launcher is basically useless, but is an "aosp" one as well
most interesting service apps are missing a connection to a tool (i believe) since it throws a popup saying :
Code:
[HMT] init failed
or
[HMT] not connected
anyone knows which could be? anyone familiar to this?
so in the end i am posting it just as general pourpose and cherrypicking of usefull apps, unless we can find what is missing so we could actually fix lots of issues!!!!
Do you have Full service mode with band selection and advanced network settings?

Yes those are the thing this firmware is intended to i think.. actually you can pull apps from the img if you know how to and use it also on stock fw.. I think i will do later and post them separately
Will this service firmware reset the knox counter aswell?
Ok thank you. Please look for advanced network setup APPs and post them ASAP, I need them very urgently
WOW, nice, i have a look asap.

Well if you're in rush flash the firmware and use them, or use some app like samsung secret code from play.. You'll need root for that to work properly

I really dunno because i had mine already tripped long before..! I think it should because they are not supposed to trip knox to fix it, but the selinux permissive kernel could give you troubles!!! Seriously !! Lots of thing may go wrong.. First of all is not out of the box compiled by samsung, but is repacked by me! So no chance it has original signature
You could try this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.shortcutmaster.lite
Giving root permission and try some code using method 0 (root) to launch it ex 1234567890 could be usefull for you

They dont trip knox because they would have flashed an engineering sboot to your device. you should look into dumping that if you have not updated it yet.

The thing is that when they flashed it on my device they have a compiled one with samsung original signature.. Mine is a repack so it doesn't have the original signature so it is likely that if you flash with odin you can end up with tripped knox, because bootloader doesn't read samsung sig and voids it

Regardless, Service firmwares always contain an engineering boot loader. as it allows them to flash what ever they need retaining the current knox state. it also unlocks the protected memory, and has a whole suite of debugging commands enabled for service utilities.
SO again i state if you have not updated this device since you got it back (eg, flashed a tar with a public sboot in it) you should consider dumping yours as its most likely an engineering one for the G920F.

I just received a new device. Here's what I found out.
I tried to use a kernel (by mistake) from another carrier and when you do this, there's Samsung software that recognizes that's not a Sprint Kernel and it locks up the device. That's what was told to me.
@Wuby986 Do you have any screenshots? I would like to see the aosp stuff that includes before I install it to my phone
Thanks

Does flashing original android 10 rom with odin void my waranty?

I have s10+ exynos on latest update, android 11. But i want to switch to android 10 original rom from sammobile. Can i do this without voiding my warranty? Does bootloader need to be unlocked to do this? In download mode i see "OEM LOCK: ON(U)".
Help is greatly apperciated )
Since the binary of 11 is 9, it only goes to 10 with binary 9, i.e. XXU9, with binarys below 9, i.e. XXU8 and below, you get a softbrick, I don't know whether it works without a Knox trigger. But actually yes, because you are flashing official FW. I think OEM lock can stay, because it is original software. But it's best to wait for someone who can confirm it. Can't really give you a guarantee.

I was checking the PDA of the updates, some are like you said XXU9, and there are some XXS9 sprinkled between them. Are those okay to flash too? (Now i think about is, is S for stable and U for unstable?)
Btw how does one get rid of soft brick, is it easy like flashing latest a11 update?

It's safe to downgrade and it doesn't void your warranty, you must verify tho that the android 10 bootloader version isn't lower as the android 11 bootloader version, also backup your data as this will wipe everything.
