Try flashing the stock firmware which was pre installed on your phone and if that doesn't work take your phone to service centre

Nope .. No use of backing up the efs folder now ..it will backup the current imei no ... . try flashing the ROM that came with the phone and see if the imei is revived ... If its not .. Go to the Samsung service centre ... They will charge u coz Samsung doesn't have a global warranty policy .... If u wanna get It done cheaper .. Then go to a local mobile repair shop and get the imei reset .... Good luck

Hi guys,
I am new to Samsung but like many I was tempted by the Note 4. I bought my Note 4 in Dubai (unlocked and not tied to any provider) but when I tried using it in the UK with a UK SIM (EE) I am not able to make/receive calls when set on LTE/WCDMA/GSM but I can when I select GSM Only. Samsung UK is not interested, Samsung Dubai poit me towards Samsung Egypt (because apparently this is an Egypt region phone) and Samsung Egypt do not understand what my problem is and keep sending my region unblock codes when the phone is not region locked.
Has anyone had this before and if yes what did you do to fix this?

I have been reading a lot about rooting and flashing ROMs but being new to this I am not confident enough to get into all that. I hope there is a solution without the need for rooting !!!

SIM works on my HTC One and 4G signal here good so I do not think it is the SIM. I updated firmware two days ago using Kies but no change. I am starting to suspect some sort of network blacklisting by Samsung but not sure. I also spoke to my network provider and problem not with them.
I want to test the phone in Middle East first to make sure that it is not some hardware fault bit if not my only option may be rooting and flashing different ROMs. I am also hoping that Lollipop may solve it but no way to get it now as I am not rooted yet.

This are the mine screen shot for dubai rom, u can compare.
Thanks for the screenshots. I compared with yours and it is now even more clear that mine is an Egypt phone. Do you know if I can flash the UAE firmware on my phone with or without rooting and if that would work so that the CP, SP and CSC are the same as yours rather than the Egypt ones?

my friends have this similar problem and its fix
This is how "you need a working sim from the country when you buy the samsung phone"
all you have to do is make a international call for 15 minutes to the original country
example u bought the phone in egypt so u need a working egypt simcard just call the operator in egypt and listen to the operator for 15 minuts from UK after 15 minutes (make it 20 minutes just in case) turn off your phone and change it with the UK sim card
this method works for me
u dont need to flash or root the phone
just remember this method only work with samsung unlock phones from middle east

You won't need to downgrade/upgrade your modem manually. It'll happen automatically when you upgrade the firmware.
Since Spain (Vodafone) hasn't released the 5.0.1 update for the GT-I9506 yet, you should flash another one.
Theoretically, any region's firmware should work.
Go to Sammobile.com/firmwares and type GT-I9506.
Flash any firmware that isn't associated with a carrier.
From what I can see, Nordic Countries, Slovakia and Greece have unbranded I9506 firmwares.
Keep in mind, if your phone is ever sent for warranty, they might not accept it because the CSC will change.
So this is entirely up to you.

All the firmwares are identical, only difference is the origin country and obviously the CSC.
Since the firmwares are identical, they're all stable and SamMobile doesn't upload unstable ROMs, all the ROMs on are fully developed and are completely stable.

CSC stands for Customer Sales Code
CSC varies depending on who sold the phone to you, was it through a carrier or was it from a retail store?
For example, the CSC for Italy is ITV and XEF for France.
The CSC for Spain is PHE, but that's if you bought your phone from a retail store.
However, since your phone is from a carrier (your first post shows ATL as your CSC)
ATL is also the CSC for Spain but ATL is for Vodafone.
Suppose your phone gets damaged and needs to be sent in for warranty to get repaired/replaced.
The guy at the service center will check the phone and if the CSC is different from ATL, he will refuse to take your phone as it has technically been tampered with, in the sense that the original ROM has been removed and you have flashed the ROM of another country on your phone. There is nothing wrong with having the ROM for another country, but the service center people don't accept your phone unless it has the original CSC, which in your case is ATL.
BUT, if your phone ever does go for repair etc, do change the CSC before sending it.
You can use this guide to change your CSC.
It's fairly easy and you should be done quickly.
Enjoy flashing a new ROM on your phone and enjoy the 5.0.1 experience on that amazing Snapdragon-800 processor.

Of course there is.
Google change your CSC and a big XDA thread should come up in the Galaxy Grand section. That has a full tutorial in it, however before you do that.
Is the ATL CSC still installed on your phone even after flashing the firmware of a different country?
Check by dialing *#1234# in the dialer and post the stuff written in the CSC field here.

Dear Murtaza,
I hope you don't mind I am sending you a private message regarding my brother's phone.
He purchased it new. The Phone was operator blocked.
The store did something to the phone to allow him using the local telecom sim card.
Since my brother was not able to upgrade to new os versions. He gets the notifications but a soon as he executes the upgrade process on the air, an error shows up saying that the phone has been modified.
I have attached all the phone information collected using PHONE INFO.
Kindly, let me know whether I Can use the same Rom NEE to upgrade his phone and if safe doing it.
Is there anything else to do to correct the manual upgrade process?
Many thanks my friend

Just replace the I9506 firmware with the I9505 firmware the tutorial and you're all set. However, since device status is modified, after flashing the firmware through Odin, you should do a Factory Reset.
You can use any regions ROM as long as it's unbranded. The manual update process is exactly the same as it is on your phone.
Once you've downloaded the 5.0.1 firmware, flash it and let me know how its worked out for you.

Great news. Many thanks. I hope he won't have problems anymore with the ota update?
Guys I got my Galaxy S8 3 days back, imported from Dubai. In India no volte is showing up, I guess the firmware needs to be changed to Indian firmware. As the firmware shows Algeria.
Anyone changed the firmware then please help me out.

I'm in a similar situation, importing from dubai due to the recent price drop. Will be getting my hands on the device in 1 or 2 days.
I read in one of the posts in xda that you will have to just factory reset phone and insert indian sim and configure the phone for getting volte and spay. XDA link. Sounds too simplistic to me.
Can you please kindly mention what steps you took to make S8 work with Jio Volte and Samsung Pay. I'm familiar with rooting phones and flashing custom ROMs.
Thanks!
Hey! even I'm in the same situation. S8 from dubai no volte in India. And I'm unable to download the firmware from sammobile.
I had read this on a forum... can anyone confirm if this works??
"This is what I did and it worked for me .. Please note , all of your data will be erased (I.e. factory reset) so take back.up if you want.
1. Power off and remove the sim tray.. Please ensure you have a Indian sim in the tray.. I used Airtel
2. Goto recovery , HOLD bixby button and Volume up together and power up
3. In recovery , chose factory reset .. This will give a warning and then reset everything
4. Chose power off in the recovery and insert sim tray with Indian sim .. you should do this before booting up as your CSC will be configured when you will start
5. Power on the phone , it may goto recovery again.. Chose to restart to system now
Everything will be configured to INS CSC now .. Samsung Pay works now ..
This worked for me , I had imported S8 from UAE . I don't take any responsibility for any damage in the process please .. just sharing what I have learnt from this forum. THANKS"

Did you change the UAE firmware to Indian one?
Are there any issues? Does it has any lock?
Hello,
I bought s8 from Dubai last week and I installed Indian firmware AQG5.
But now the phone is stuck on boot screen.
I cant even get into tecovery mode. Its stuck on Galaxy S8 screen.
I selected
AP, BL, CSC & CP files while flashing through Odin
Please suggest how to get out of this

Yup, it works. I just inserted my Airtel 4g sim before even the first boot and the phone configured for Indian carriers. Later, I wasn't getting ota updates so flashed AQF7 update through Odin using home CSC which didn't factory reset the phone. I even got AQG5 ota update after this. Volte & Spay work fine.
Help with Samsung S8 Dubai

Hi - I am planning to get the samsung S8 from Dubai - would you suggest I buy it - what all functionalities arent working here in India. Also, does it need a 5 min. voice call in Dubai before getting it here?

OK, so did you flash UAE stock rom or any other country specific rom? Sometimes wrong region roms cause this, also you can try out different modem files by flashing through odin and checking, another way you can try is to install a custom rom for the phone, those contain modem files that work with most regions, so either try flashing UAE region rom and try, or get some modem files and flash those using odin, or lastly try custom roms. If all those fail then maybe you have deleted the efs partition by some way and I don't think anyone can help you unless you have an efs backup, which I presume you don't have. Hope I helped.
