[Q] need help with sm-n900a - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay so I'm rooted via towel root, I've got a custom recovery thanks to safest rap 3.75 (twrp) I tried to install X note port for sm-n900a. It said it could only be installed to stock Tom slot so I did. It completed the install. I rebooted, and it failed to boot. So I went to recovery and now it's saying "unable to mount system, unable to mount systemrig, failed to restore system" I have tried to figure this out. But to no avail. I've resorted to creating rom slot 1 and installing dk and running on that, I want my stock back, anybody got any ideas here?

[Q] Messed up installing CM10.1

Hi,
Hopefully someone can help me with this.
I was trying to install CM10.1 - I am a bit of a noob but thought after successfully installing on my Tab2 that I should be OK.
I was following the guide on androidtelegraph.com and had managed to root the phone and install CWM no problem.
When trying to install CM10.1 something went wrong and the installation aborted. I didnt backup the previous ROM - when I tried there was an error. I guess I should have stopped at that point! Possibly lack of space on the phone.
Now the phone has been wiped and I really don't know what to do to get it back (if I can!). Switching on the phone just gives me the Samsung logo.
The file I was trying to install was cm-10.1.3-RC2-jfltexx
I would be very grateful for any help or support that can be offered.
Hi again,
I was wondering if adding more information may help.
What I had done was firstly successfully root the phone (confirmed via the Root Checker app).
I also successfully installed CWM recovery using Odin (confirmed as booted into CWM Recovery) using this file CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5
When I booted into CWM Recovery I then wiped data (tried to do backup first but this failed).
I tried to then install the CM 10.1 zip from this file cm-10.1.3-RC2-jfltexx
Thats when the phone failed.
The phone can still boot into CWM Recovery and can also be "seen" by Odin in download mode,
I guess I'm trying to understand what stage my phone is at - is it "bricked" and what I can do to resolve the issue?
Again extremely grateful for any support.

[Q] Boob screwup

Hello, I rooted my sm-900v verizon note 3, installed custom jellybeans rom successfully, then I was going to install hyperdrive booted safestrap and wiped everything on the phone, for some reason I had to restart my phone, now I cant get it to boot up, tried using the recovery mode to install either jelly beans or hyperthread,
I wipe the cache
Then I wipe data/factory reset
Then I choose apply update fron external storage
Choose the custom rom fronm the root of the sd card
And I get an E: signature verification failed
Also tried using odin mode and odin 3.09v to install, unzipped the file and tried to load into odin, cant find the md5 file, some please help!
I did do a TWRP back up, but TWRP is not loading at boot up, nothing is, please help!

i9505 - jflte - Installation aborted

Sup,
got a S4 from a mate to root. Already rooted my own S3, so I know what to do.
I flashed the newest CF Auto Root from chainfire via Odin
flashed the newest CWM via Odin too
then went into the recovery
Wiped everything (data, factory reset, dalvik and even system)
But as soon as I want to install a custom rom, it tells me "installation aborted".
Tried different roms, but none has worked.
Also tried Philz Touch 6 and TWRP but still getting the same problem.
Why does the recovery say that there's no root access if I want to shut down the device?
"Root access is missing. Root device now?"
This appears everytime I shut down from recovery. Could this be the problem?
I appreciate every kind of help
E3: uh.. After a few hours I finally got the solution.
- I installed this rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250824) (Stockrom)
- Flashed root again
- Flashed CWM again
- and finally I am able to install a custom rom !
I was going to say reflash root. But I see you did it yourself. Nice thinking

[Q] D803 Help!

Hello XDA Developers,
I had a device that was rooted on stock rom and recovery. What happened was that an OTA was installed and it went to the "boot verify certification" screen. I had to install Ubuntu to get TWRP running again.
I'm able to boot into TWRP, and I tried installing different ROMs, using adb sideload, from Stock ROM, ParanoidAndroid, and Madri-ROM.
The first one was able to install, but when I reboot the phone, I get stuck on the LG logo. I wait for an hour and it still does not do anything.
So now I try the other two custom ROMs, and I get an error saying "E:Error executing updater binary in zip "... .zip".
Then it reads "Error flashing zip '... zip'.
My question is: What else can I do to get this phone working again? I would like stock ROM, and preferably stock recovery back (Recovery is secondary).
Thanks in advance,
DaAznMan
Note: When I use adb sideload, the .zip file that gets transferred becomes a file called 'sideload.zip'. Is that correct? If not, what do I need to do to fix it?

Custom ROM installation problems

Hey Guys,
First and foremost, I am sorry if this was already posted because I tried to look for it and there was nothing so here we go:
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Verizon and I am trying to install a custom ROM. The Android version is 4.4.2 (KitKat). Also, the phone has root access (using towelroot). I installed Safestrap onto it and downloaded Hyperdrive ROM. I rebooted into Safestrap, did all the steps (backup, select ROM slot, Wipe/Factory Reset, Install ROM, etc.), but after I pressed "Install" and chose the ROM, it said that the installation failed. I also got some information to downgrade to NC2 modem from NC4 modem, which I did using Odin, and tried the same process with no luck. This is the weird part though; for some ROM's, it says that the installation was successful, but when I try to reboot, it says that there is no OS installed. I also noticed that a common error on the error report is that it is unable to "mount /system". Maybe this is the cause? I have even tried to do it anyway with no Operating System, and I end up having to take the battery out and try again. I'm stumped. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for all your help!
