I had to Odin back to stock and de-bloat a couple of times. Now everything is working, except accessing my voice mail. I have to manually dial *86 instead of just touching the voice mail notification. Am I missing something or is there a setting to fix this?

Ive updated to Touch_lite_3.01 and the voice mail icon wont go away since the first message recieved w/ new rom. Does someone know where to go into registry to manually remove the icon? Thanks
I have seen this cleared by calling yourself from a different phone, leaving a new voicemail, then checking it and deleting all voice mail.

When I set up my phone I selected GV for SMS and VM. I got tired of getting two sms notifications when I received one SMS etc....
After I rooted N1 I tried to remove GV (unsuccessfully) and I selected "my Carrier" for the default on VM and SMS. Fixed sms but....now anyone who calls my TMO number gets sent to my GV voice-mail.
What can I do? Any help appreciated.
Doesn't answer your question, but just an FYI: You could go into the default message app and turn off notifications so that you only receive one when you get an SMS.
in order to disable google voice voicemail just dial this ##004# and hit the call button.
Go into your call settings and change the call forwarding numbers back to your carrier's vmail number.
Not sure why you'd want to not use Google Voice, since it's got vmail transcription, etc. Your multiple notifications issue is simple user error and that can be fixed by adjusting your settings.
Hell Yeah!!! Thanks a lot!! Momo
Every time I get a GV voicemail, I than get an email in my gmail. I love GV. hell I have had it since GC days 2007. Android is new to me. But I have laid down my crackberry habit of 6 years. My wife's G1 one got me started. Sure loving this community and my N1.
*******Unsari1 ,,I already changed my call settings back but that did not help.
no problem glad it worked.
Also, if you were getting 2 notifications for sms, it's because you had the notification turned on in both GV and in the small client and not because there's a flaw.
Posted in another thread, but thought this was relevant to this thread as well...
To any of you who are using Google Voice as your default voicemail app... do you notice the phone's settings revert back to carrier voicemail after a reboot?
If I go to dialer after a reboot and hit the voicemail button, it dials T-mobile vmail... and if I go to Settings>Call Settings, Google Voice isn't selected anymore. So basically, it has to be set again after each reboot...
Last night, I was going to flash CM7, 7.0.3.1. Did a nandroid of my stock, rooted, 2.3.3 rom (I flashed the GB update from x99Percent last friday). After flashing CM7, I was attempting to set up Google Voice, but was having issues, where it couldn't sync with Sprint, or something like that. So, I wiped data/cache/dalvik, and I restored my nandroid backup.
This morning, I received a text through Google Voice. I never receive texts through GV. Only voicemails. I've also noticed in menu, settings, call, voicemail service, I only have "My Carrier" listed, and not "My Carrier" and "Google Voice". Under voicemail settings, it shows my google voice #.
How do I get everything back to the way it was? I want texts to come through the HTC messaging app, and I only want voicemails to come through to GV.
Unintegrate gv and reintegrate. I had the same issue, and sprint told me it was because my phone was damaged beyond repair, which anyone who has ever owned an htc phone knows is bull****. This phone is a brick house and I fixed it myself on gv desktop site.
I had the same problem at first. To fix it, go into the voice app on your phone and under settings>sync and notifications> and choose to receive notifications via text message. Turn off inbox notifications, and your back to getting texts as normal.

That gets me very close to what I want. Now if only I didn't receive a text message when I have a voicemail. But, it will have to do for now.

Go Settings>Applications>Manage Apps. Clear data under the voicemail app. Next, dial *38 on your phone (asterisk 3 8). It should beep a few times and then hang up by itself. Update your profile. Get someone to call you and the voicemail should no longer be a text, but show up as a voicemail icon and be in your voicemail app.

Are talking about getting a text that you have a voice mail? If so go to Settings in GV click on voice mail tab>voice mail notifications >un-check the box that reads send text .
Problem: I do not receive any type of voicemail notification (no 9016 text, no voicemail icon in my notification bar, nothing).
About my phone: I have a Sprint Galaxy S4 (SPH-L720). I am running CM11. I can access my voicemail by holding the "1" in dialer (so I know the number is accurate in the settings). The "Message Wait" indicator option is checked in the voicemail setup. I did try Google Voice for a while (hated it, messed with my text messaging). I uninstalled it from my phone and disabled it via the google.com/voice site. I also cancelled call forwarding (*720) and conditional call forwarding (*38). When I call my voicemail or someone else calls my voicemail, it does go to the sprint voicemail system (I am confident I've severed the connection to Google Voice).
Fixes I've tried with no success: I've tried a few voicemail notification apps from the Play Store that are supposed to work with custom ROMs to "listen" for a voicemail. I've tried leaving myself a voicemail and deleting it. I've checked the Message Wait Indicator button in the settings. I've disabled call forwarding and conditional call forwarding as described above. I've made sure that I have no numbers Blacklisted. I've called Sprint and asked them to reset my voicemail on their end.
I've searched and searched. Most of what I find is 1) Use Google Voice (I tried and hated it); 2) people that have a persistent voicemail notification or 9016 text messages (I have nothing and want something), or 3) people that want Visual Voicemail to work (I don't care about visual voicemail, I just want a notification of some sort that says "Hey you have a voicemail". I don't always have great reception (Sprint is so terrible...but cheap), so I don't always know if I have a missed call.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Do you need more info? Thanks to all of you for your time and all you do on this site; it has helped me tremendously in the past. This is the first time I've been completely stumped after searching and had to post a question.
Got a voice mail today, no notification of it although it did say missed call. Received a weird text message //VZWVVM:SYNC:ev=MBU;dev-t=5. Do I need to install an app to get proper voice mail? I was able to listen to the voice mail by logging in with password normally. Also, if I have to install a voice mail app, any suggestions? Would rather avoid the Verizon app.
