[XT907]Modem fastdormancy Motorola, hot and battery drain - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

after few days KK update, the Motorola Razr M XT907 of my wifi has a quickly battery drain and sometimes is hot, i look with CPU-Spy that it doesn't do in deepsleep, because there is a service that doesn't leave it.
This service is Modem Fastdormancy Motorola, i try to kill it, but i see the signal going down....
The device is rooted, stock KK rom, with Verizon Bloatware freezed by Titanium...
can you help me?
We live in Italy and we use TIM as mobile provider..

If you're rooted, can either use Titanium Backup to freeze the modem fastdormancy manager, or edit the build.prop to add this line at the bottom:
ro.mot.ds.fastdormancy.disable=true
If you're not rooted, I don't know what will help.
Edit: The fastdormancy line in the build.prop may be worded a little differently in KK. I'm on JB so I'm not sure if it's exactly the same, but it should still mention fastdormancy somewhere.

i freezed it with TB, but can i have problems without it?
what do this app??

You can Google "fastdormancy" or do a search for it on the main XDA forums page.

Ah... That was what I felt (along with the theory that Verizon may have pumped in the CPU with a bit much juice - if anyone can rip apart the kernel and find the CPU VRM settings, I would like to see if there's any differences between JB and KK version).

You have really strange and incorrect battery stats.
It says that while your screen is on, your device is not awake. That's impossible. So the stats are incorrect.
My guess is that some app is constantly updating your location. You have to search for the app that is causing it. It can also be something like that find my phone from Samsung.
Why not update to 4.4.2 and do a complete wipe and start fresh?
i didnt notice that but im not sure, are the stats not meant to be like that?
ive had issues when going to fresh roms where battery drain is still present thats what's stopping me from moving..
with regards to samsung's "find my mobile", settings crashes when i go to "remote control" or any other options under that menu so im guessing i might have already disabled the service
are there any other suggestions?
If starting fresh on a new rom keeps having the same problems, then either you have a faulty battery or it's something you do that is causing it.
And no the stats are not meant like that. If you screen is on, then your device is awake. It's impossible for you screen to be on and you device not te be awake.

Is there a list of bloatware/apps safe to disable?

I searched the forums but I can't find any thread which compiles some sort of list for the Note 4 so far. Can someone point me to the right thread?

Here you have an "automatic" debloater:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/themes-apps/cwm-bloatware-removal-script-t3067501
The forum is full of those ..
Though freezing/stopping apps first .. then if so you wish uninstall them is the safest way .. I don't recommend auto debloaters at all for the simple facts that devices/Roms differ and devs can't possibly test all of them ..
Key is : stop what you don't use "now" delete what you are sure that you'll never use ..
For privacy reasons all pre installed apps that can be downloaded "should be deleted and installed freshly " especially after rooting and using privacy apps that cloak such as xprivacy ..
Apps that are pre-installed would know everything about your device even if you block their access & permissions later on ..

T-Mobile OTA for Stagefright

Woke up this morning to find an OTA to fix Stagefright from T-Mobile. It's still 5.0.1 and it doesn't look like it fixes all the vulnerabilities. It does up the baseband version which hopefully will fix some issues I've been having with receiving SMS messages .

Downloaded it, haven't noticed anything different yet. Lag is still mostly there.
The OTA seems to be 148MB, but the N915TUVU1BOG2 update is 1.82GB.
EDIT:
nevermind, i think the OTA is just the new files which made up BOG2.
Downloaded the update and the Stagefright detector app still says my phone is vulnerable...uh what?

YesSir ! _ same here. I wiped my phone and installed the full N915TUVU1BOG2 rom - the two Goole Playstore Apps "certif-gate scanner" and "StageFright Detector" still reports the phone is vulnerable.
So I wiped the phone again and installed the previous full rom: N915TUVU1BOD7 and after that did the T-Mobile OTA update (148MB) to BOG2 - same problem - the phone is still vulnerable.
I do not know who to believe - the apps or T-Mobile/Samsung.
Can anyone tells us techies "were to look for the vulnerablilities" - I did Google searches - but is seems like no-one really knows what to look for..... (or else I just keep missing it). I found some apk's referred to on some LG devices, but I could not find those apk's on my Samsung phones.
I used a Rooted app from some Dev on the Playstore for $1...to not only detect but to block

Super high battery use on CM13 (from NFC?)

My battery loses charge super quick and I have no idea why, it was never this bad on my S4. On the latest nightly of CM13, this is what I get from BetterBatteryStats and the Battery menu in settings respectively.

I've disabled NFC and even uninstalled the app with titanium backup (after backing it up of course). BetterBatteryStats is also telling me 98% of the time the screen is off my device is awake
I'm guessing you have kltedv (SM-G900I) device then you will have to flash kltedv specific version of cm13 here.
Alright, will do, thanks.
edit: I've also renamed the Nfc apk in system/app/nfc or whatever the folder is called (has nfc in title) and that's seemed to help immensely, but I will also flash this new rom, thanks! also, how'd you know I was on a G900I?

@343N I've same device, it have different nfc chip then klte thats why it causes battery drain but when I flash klte roms I usually delete nfc folder completely when flashing with help of built-in file manager from recovery solves that problem. Anyway just flash kltedv official build then no need to mess around with nfc issues anymore.

Improve Battery After Nougat Update

i have seen many comments in different threads about having poor battery life... i myself have faced this issue.. with my battery dropping like 5-7% while it's ideal to.. so many people suggested to full wipe my device but along with it i used a software BK DISABLER(SAMSUNG)...
i disabled all the apps along with samsung account(i checked shealth was still working after this but then i removed it seeing the number of services it had)
given in this link..
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/safe-to-debloat-s6-threads-t3090383
please check the second cmnt by @lizaSB..it's more detailed and apps are easy to find.. whenever you disable a bloatware be sure to check you have disabled the services given in it(using BK DISABLER.. obviously)
I don't know whether a seperate thread has been created for this or not... but after nougat update this really helped.. my batter falls like 0.6 or 0.7 % perhour when it's ideal...
I know many scripts are availabel for doing this but that requires root.. this app doesn't requires root privilege .
I feel battery for the S6/N5 family improved with Nougat, while the S7 line battery was negatively impacted. Moving to a spare S6 I had, as I had to send my S8 in to replace my screen, I'm getting quite decent numbers for a 2-year old phone that was used for most of that time by my mom (she changed phones recently).
