Note 3 no baseband, no sim reading, camera force close - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I just bought a second hand note 3 of ebay. The seller told me there where some problems with the sim slot. It was not reading any sim.
No problems there just buy a new sim slot and solder of the old one. Except when i turned on the phone i see there is no Imei, no baseband, camera foces closes, other apps also force close. And telefoon reboots now and then out of the blue.
So first diagnostic, no sim problem but a software problem. I browsed the forums here and tryed the bootfix methode, the clean rom inc pit. The remove efs folder by hand methode among others.
Al keep getting the same results. Now i have the 4.4 bootloader and clean rom phn for netherlands. But no imei and no baseband.
Anyone got any idear on how to proceed? I offcourse dont have the Original EFS full backup sinds the previouws owner did not know what he was doing.

Flash the FIRE script that is located in these forums, it should automatically rebuild your EFS. Then flash your Stock ROM. Should fix it. -- Unless the original owner has really messed up the EFS partition - But the Note 3 has a fallback which by it has an auto-rebuild of the EFS partition when you run the correct command, in this case the FIRE script.
EDIT : Attached it for you..

Will try these tips tonight will keep u all posted.

Sometimes it'll come straight back after the bootloop.fix - other times you need to flash Stock firmware straight after and it'll rebuild itself.

Did You try factory reset?

Take the battery out, then place back in, reboot into recovery clear cache and then reboot.

No luck. It gets to the normal samsung logo lighting up and all stays there for over an hour now.

Note 3 No Network / Wrong Serial Number .

Problem:Rooted the phone and due to some issues but somehow it became unrooted so I tried to root again but this time it failed during odin downloading mode halfway. so I unplug and was not able to boot up the phone. So i download and install the stock firmware from sammobile and manage to get the phone to startup . But the next issue is that the imei is gone and serial number's wrong with no network .
Did a bit of researched and I managed to write my own imei in through a thread I've found here . But my serial number is still different from what I've checked from the back of my phone and the network is still not up . I've check my ESN n MEID number is some random numbers or just 000000000 , tried to search for how to recover but to no avail.
I've tried doing imei repairs using GSII_repair and tried to follow some threads on things like deleting efs folders etc BUT I am not able to find the nv_data file even after rooting so decided to drop the method .
Do let me know what you guys need in order to troubleshoot the problem .
Did the phone's imei and serial # match the label before you rooted the first time?

Did you buy the phone new or used?
The easiest way to fix that, is to flash stock rom, but not just any ... it has to be the exact same region as the phone originated. Otherwise you get screwed EMEI, etc. Some countries the phone is carrier locked, so you also need to take that in account when getting stock rom. If you can't find those out... then it can be a problem. Maybe bring it into a samsung repair center to be checked out.

I flashed the stock rom from sammobile using odin , managed to get the phone up but thats when the imei and sn gets screwed up I think . I'm from singapore and our phones here are all unlocked . Used to work for 1 of the telcos here so I'm 100% sure it's not sim locked . I checked with my friends at samsung and they told me their process is to switch the motherboard and it's not worth the price, so I would want to try all the methods first before converting it as a expensive media player lol.
So the phone is originally from Singapore? Or you just flashed stock rom from Singapore? If the phone is originally from Singapore and you flashed a stock rom from Singapore, it should work... unless you tried changing the EMEI yourself. I think it's all messed up now, so you probably only have to take it to a shop that can do that for you. Changing motherboard from Samsung (or any manufacturer) is always super expensive. Hopefully you can find someone else with a small shop that can do it -- otherwise, I guess better to get something else (because price won't be worth it, as you say).
Good luck. Hope you sort it out.
PS, I like visiting Singapore sometimes... miss Brazil Churrascaria ^^.

iMEI NULL/Baseband unknown Samsung S5 G900F

Can anyone help me with this issue...It started when my phone was suddenly restarted by itself and couldnt read my simcard. At first, i tried reboot it and luckily my phone can read the simcard. But after i remove my battery the problem came back and simcard cannot be read anymore. I tried other phone, my simcard is just fine. And i realized that my phone imei Null and baseband unknown.... I read the other thread that have the same issue (solved), i follow his step, flash stock firmware, re-partition the phone, Nand Erase All, and clear the EFS. At last, my problem solved. But, when i changed the battery, my phone will be back to imei null. I fix my phone like before, my phone was good again. But now, it is still imei null even though I follow the same step as before... What should I do? Please help...
At first i thought it happen because maybe i updated some of Samsung Apps that can cause this issue...But is it possible its because of the batteries? Both my batteries are original...
Sorry for my broken English.

Samsung Galaxy s5 (sm-g900t) no signal, not service.

My samsung galaxy s5 g900t started having problem this morning. I;ve been using blisspop rom since 3 month ago and everything was fine. But now my phone wont even find a signal. The signal bar is empty. I though it might have been because of an app. therefore i deleted any unusual app, and nothing happened. Then i proceeded to factory reset and nothing happened, then i decided to change the rom, and nothing happened ( i changed to 6 different roms, all between LP and MM. I proceeded to flash the stock firmware via odin, it successfully flashed the stock firmware, However nothing happened. It has an empty signal bar with and x on the inside. So far I've tried with different sim cards and it happens the same. NOTHING. My phone has been using heavy duty covers since day 1. The last cover i bought was the Love Mei one. Which is Extremely heavy duty. (combination between aluminum and rubber). However im starting to think that i will have to buy a new part of the phone. I know about phones, and software related, however i dont know as much as a professional or amateur would about hardware (external)
Can someone please give me suggestions about what to do before proceeding to buy a new part? If i have to buy a new part, which one do i have to buy? the antenna? or what? I've posted the picture of the screenshot ( look at the signal bar) Forgive me if someone has posted the same issue, however the suggestions xda was telling me are far from being the same than my problem.
Do you still have an IMEI if you type *#06# ?
If not, I hope you backed up your EFS partition before flashing ROMs

No. I didnt. Okay i though it was a lost cause. Here is what happened, somehow my EFS folder got erased, and my imei and S/N were gone along with it. After you lost those 2 essential things every company turns their back on you. So, it is either you fix it by buying one of those boxes that fix imeis and networks related, or buy a new logical board on ebay; or just give up and proceed to buy a new phone. However, even though i saw that my imei was null, and my S/N was also gone, Having no backups of EFS, I was at the edge of giving up. Until i decided to do the following: I installed the firmware that came with the phone. which it was a 4.4.2 version. Then i upgraded it to 5.0. And..... Everything was back... however my IMEI is not the same that came with the phone. Which is kind of odd. How did i get a new IMEI by just goning back and for between upgrades? Who knows.... Anyway, now I have full bar as its supposed to be. And currently 4g. (There was another thing i did but i will refrain from telling, since it isnt that interesting)
Very strange, but good news it's working
I'd would strongly advise you to back up that EFS partition asap now just in case

Ueah. I never thought that would happen to me. Thats why i never did the backup. I did it as soon as i saw that i got signal, service, imei and sn back. Haha
No-one ever thinks it will happen to them, that's why I backed mine up before I even decided to flash anything custom at all

No signal [FIXED]

The problem got fixed a year ago.
The problem was the hardware and not the software
I've replaced the corrupt phone.
how you changed csc as u explained? usually flashing a diferent firmware with another csc will completly wipe the phone a d restore efs info, be sure ur flashing a different csc not included in the original csc pack (oxm and btu r the same csc for example).

maybe thats the problem, ILO and CEL r both the same CSC (OXM), if you dont flash other CSC it will not completly wipe the efs carpet, try downloading BVO from sammobile and flash it.
before flashing twrp or anyyhing first try your signal with completly stock BVO.
is wifi working ok?
had problems with my first s8 regarding gsm/wifi signal, got it exchanged to get it to work(it was stock untouched)

After a minute without doing anything suddenly, my signal is back but it crashes every time i use it like to answer a call, i guess my antenna is defect, i will return my phone for a replacement.
Hi, have you been able to solve the problem? It happens exactly the same
Yes i have a similar problem, apps crash, phone lags all the time. I use 2 bluetooth devices connected all the time, location is always open, nfc is disabled, i use nova launcher prime. Phone is not rooted. Call drops when there is no reason. Cellular signals complete goes away even though it was at full service a moment ago, then after 10-15 seconds, it comes back again. This phone is making me really sick. I was using galaxy s5 before this and it had a better performance than this one. I have galaxy s8 g950f by the way.

Le Pro 3 "No SIM Card" bug

I've had a few mobile data related issues on a few different ROMs now, and am looking for any solutions. The first problem I've been having recently is where my phone randomly reports that there is no SIM card inserted and won't make or receive calls and cellular data doesn't work. Simply rebooting or removing and re-inserting the SIM will instantly fix the issue but I'd prefer to find a solution so I don't have to reboot my phone all the time. Another new issue I've noticed is where the signal strength remains constant but the "ASU" goes from 40 or so to 99 and my bars appear to drop to nothing, this issue may have only started after my most recent install of lineage. I have the US variant of the phone and currently have Lineage OS 14.1 but even when previously on an unmodified copy of EUI 21s, albeit after installed after a few other ROMs, I was getting this issue. Does anyone have any ideas why I might be having these issues, or any ideas on what to try to fix them? Any insight is appreciated!
in my case I have the x722 and this does not recognize any SIM at any time
Did you try factory resetting? Are your APN settings for your carrier correct? It could be a lot of things. If you bought it in the U.S. from a U.S. store, you'll probably be able to RMA it (easier than the rest of us, at least). If the issue persists, I'd say open a case and ask for a replacement because it's your best option.
When did these issues start? From the beginning? If not, did you flash the modem correctly?

I don't remember exactly when I started having these problems to be completely honest, I just know that on EUI, after once flashing to lineage then back to EUI, I was having issues with it saying NO SIM INSERTED and now after flashing to Lineage and re flashing the 19s modem I am still having issues. I suppose I can try to RMA since I bought it at launch on LeEco's US store. Though I may have passed a year of ownership so I may be out of warranty . I don't really know what else to try, maybe this?
My understanding of this phone is, flashing stock rom (either US version or CN version), whose size is about 1.4g bytes, can give you the modem.
All the roms developed here do not have modem images.
I have faced the same issue trying installing custom ROM while sim card inserted.
The solution for me is to remove the sim try completely
Fastboot this (chinese stock) rom : https://drive.google.com/uc?id=0By_Lx-WrwGa7cnZMZWF4QUdmQm8&export=download
complete the installation normally using your wifi and then insert sim tray with sim. Hurray ! I got that working.
With this chinese stock rom I got everything what I wanted google play store, assistant and etc. (except android > 6)

Haven't tried 727 19s modem backup, but what works for me is this ROM.
I know this ROM is in chinese and you might struggle on changing the stuff but when I faced the issue, the only thing I needed is to make the device usable whatever it'll cost.
It'll be great if modem backup thing will work for anybody. This ROM might be the last option for you.
