I was using 4.4.2, rooted. I used SuperSU to unroot and tried OTA, but it failed and went back to 4.4.2. So I did a factory reset. It was weird that it still failed at upgrading to 4.4.3.
Then I downloaded the official 4.4.4 image from Google and flashed it to my phone via USB. In the cmd everything was OKay and the phone stated rebooting, but it won't go past where the four colored dots are merging (after the Google logo, and they look like they bouncing).
Please help!! Is it because I skipped 4.4.3?
No, this issue is not caused by skipping 4.4.3. It is somehow a software issue, many people have weird problems updating to 4.4.4, too. Try to flash a factory image of a older version like 4.4.2 or even 4.3. That should let your device boot again.

Hi Guys,
I am pretty much stuck at updating my phone. I will explain the problem.
I got a Nexus 4 8gb version running 4.2. I recieved via OTA 4.3. Downloaded, installed no problem. After rebooting i got the 4.4. via OTA. Downloaded it and installed it Got stuck a starting apps, after 1.5h i shutdown the phone rebooted. Now it is stuck at the nexus logo.
I flashed via fastboot, i tried different official roms. The only one working is the JDQ39, i think 4.2.
I also tried flashing with the nexus root toolkit from wug... stil the same.
I can reach the fastboot and the recovery...
Any help???
Thx
Same Issue here
i downgrade it to 4.2.2. But my imei is gone and i cant make any call.
I was able to downgrade the phone to NB1 and root it with Towelroot, and used Safestrap in order to get recovery on the device.
After that, I booted into recovery and installed the GPE 5.0.1 ROM.: http://galaxys4root.com/t-mobile-galaxy-s4-roms/gpe-android-5-0-1-lollipop-rom-for-galaxy-s4/
Now the phone will not go past the S4 splash page, reboots and then goes into the stock recovery. Ive tried factory reset, clearing cache and removing the battery.
Any help is appreciated. I bought this phone for my fiance and am wanting to give it to her soon as a present.
Thank you so much in advance.
I think the problem is that you downgraded.

I couldnt install towelroot on the 4.4.4 version it came with since it said device wasnt supported.
I was following these instructions: http://www.droidviews.com/root-att-galaxy-s4-sgh-i337-android-4-4-4-kitkat-firmware-i337ucufnj4/
It states to downgrade, then root, then go back to the 4.4.4. I thought after the steps I took, I could go straight to a custom ROM.
Thanks
I used CF-Auto-Root to root my device. Since towelroot didn't work for me either.
Maybe the rom did not flash right. Try flashing again.
problem in installing lollipop rom india to samsung i9500
I have installed the newly released lollipop rom to my samsung i9500 through odin. it was successfully flashed but the phone cant restart, it stuck with samsung written on the screen and blue light on...what i should do???
Hello guys! I am having issues trying to update my Verizon S5 to Lolipop. I had been previously rooted and since uninstalled safestrap and SuperSU. When I tried to update to lolipop, it would fail and not update at all. I factory reset my phone to see if that work. It didn't. Then I had remembered that I had uninstalled a ton of bloatware previously and I might have accidentally uninstalled something that the phone needs to update. So I hooked up my phone to my computer and tried to use odin and install the factory NK2 firmware. I put my phone in download mode and it did start downloading but it didn't flash it at all and just rebooted. What should I do?
Thanks.

The firmware isn't what you should use by itself. Try flashing an nk2 stock tar, factory reset from recovery after flashing, and then try updating.
Ok so I'd like to put AllianceROM on my international version SM-G900F H3G UK model.
To do so, my plan is to downgrade lollipop to 4.4.2 stock, root with TowelRoot, then install the ROM through Mobile Odin Pro (to preserve the KNOX counter). I've just tried to flash 4.4.2 onto the phone, but I cannot get it to start at all after it's flashed. The phone just hangs on the Three (H3G) boot animation.
I'm hoping that I've just got confused with the Sammobile site and that I've just flashed the wrong 4.4.2 firmware (so far tried flashing ANG2 and ANE2). Something I should have checked earlier but I just thought they were updated versions of the same ROM).
If I can't successfully boot into 4.4.2, I'd like to try flashing lollipop to retrieve some files I forgot to backup (another silly mistake). I'm not sure whether I can take files off it through the ADB sideload or whatever but if I have to lose all my data then I'm not too bothered.
What's the best way to go about my situation?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right, thanks man. After flashing lollipop, I can now boot up and back up stuff. I'll flash 4.2.2 again and factory reset.
I have a Nexus 4 (8GB version), unrooted. I had 5.1.1 running on it, which was flashed manually as the OTA update failed. After having some stability issues I decided to perform a "clean" flash to "start from scratch". So I tryed flashing 5.1.1 and... It ended up in a bootloop (boot animation going on for ever). So I tryed to flash other versions, but everything above 4.4.2 is not working. I first flashed with the "flash-all" scripts (under Window 7 and under Linux), and now am using the "SkipSoft Android Toolkit". So this is how it looks like:
-4.2.2 flash successfull.
-4.3 flash successfull. The phone detects OTA update to 4.4, but the update fails - I get android lying on its back with a red explanation mark. After that, the phone reboots to 4.2.2.
-4.4 flash successfull. The phone detects OTA update to 4.4.2, but the download fails.
-4.4.2 flash successfull. The phone detects OTA update to 4.4.3, but the update fails - I get android lying on its back with a red explanation mark. After that, the phone reboots to 4.4.2.
-Flashing to 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 fails as the phone does not pass the "Google"-sign (before the boot animation).
-Flashing to 5.x fails as the phone end up in a bootloop. I tryed to wipe system/cache after installing, but it does not help.
Sideload of OTAs fails with "Status 7" error, which is strange because I flash stock ROMs. So everything higher then 4.4.2 cannot be installed.
Is there a way to fix this? Getting OTAs to work (even by sideload) would be a start. Or is it a hardware problem and the phone is hopeless?
I hope someone has an answer or at least a direction to dig into.
Thanks
Pavel
