App Programming on Android - IDEs, Libraries, & Programming Tools

I'm learning how to make apps, and I do not have a computer. I need to know how I can program on an Android. Mostly what I want right now is an app that can pit together everything into an "APK ". What I'm doing is just messing with an app I have and then I would like to put it back together. Sorry if this is not the right forum.

You may try using AIDE which is a development environment running on Android itself.
AppInventor which is a web-based development tool for novice users mıght also be useful.

Great Idea but how can I decompile with AIDE. I háve it, but cannot decompile.

Anyone know if there is a dev emulator(software type) for windows that I could use to test an tweak with, as I like the stability of my phone. I am just trying to start doing some work myself, so if I'm totally off as far as this even being an option let me know(nicely please ))

Closest thing you'll find is AVD which is android virtual device that we use to debug programs we write. Its part of the android sdk and gets integrated Eclipse when you set up your environment. Personally, I doubt it would be worth a damn for ROM making or tweaking. I am not sure how you would load any software on it other than vanilla android. Also its painfully ef'ing slow. I can't believe with my i7 and 16 gigs of ram it still takes 3 minutes to boot, and on my old laptop it takes 7 minutes. I really think big G could have done better with it, and its due for an over haul.

There is also the route of being able to run in vbox that I have heard, but my guess is that you would need an intel x86 kernel compiled for it....just a guess though.

[Q] Need help creating an app.

Hey everyone, I'm new to XDA forums. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me I want to create an android app for a forum site. It would be similar to the app for this site. I know basics but this I think is out of my league. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks alot.
The simple (and easier) way to go about it is to create an app that has one activity with a webview in it that points to your forum site(mobile view).
That way you can have a downloadable app with a nice icon and everything but you don't have to reinvent the wheel of your forum in java.
like a link app easy to make in appinventor

Different Android Markets

Question:
Why do I see apps like SiriusXM and Sonos in the Market from my phone, but not the Market from my XOOM. I must be missing something really basic. Is there a process to move apps from an android phone device to an android Tablet device.
Please educate me!

It has to do with the devices Finger Print. Certain apps are designed for specific phones/devices and the developers can limit what devices can get it.
Gotta love it. Thx!

how to build an app

ok devs or people who know how to build apps.
i would like to become a dev by building apps but iv searched google and xda and i cant find the right answers so i wandered if anybody knows how to build an app for our x8.
if you could give me maybe a step step tutorial on how to build them? sorry if im asking to much but im keen
cheers.
That kind of thread would be pointless cuz there are many types of app eg. Pulse with a clock widget have an entirely different code. Some apps do some things, other apps do other things. It's impossible to have a general or global tutorial of how to make an app.

Easy way out:
Google App Inventor
AppsGeyser
AndroMo
Conduit Mobile
wix.com ( creates mobile sites)
I know more, but can't think of them.
And I guess you probably want the coding tutorial but I don't know either so.....
Leave a thanks if I helped!

Running java apps

I have a brand new Note 3 and I'm loving it! I had a crazy idea today and I think it might just work. I use a Java program at work called ASDM. It's a Cisco firewall utility and it runs straight from java. I've ran the program on windows and copied the jar files over to Linux and on Mac and they work fine after a little tweaking of the start command and switches. I'm wondering if these phones have a full legitimate version of Java that would be capable of running such a program. I'm not looking to install it as an android app, I just want to have a shortcut to the file and run it.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Has nobody tried running java programs ?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Nope, but im interested
Ok. From what I've found java isn't natively implemented on android. Can anybody else confirm? I know the browsers have java support. Is that functionality embedded into the actual browser?
