No debugging mode

I was thinking about using the RAv1.6.2 ROM, but I see he has "removed debugging" via "Recompiled kernel RAv1.6.2".
Does this really affect ADB usage? The only research I came across was info about what debugging mode was, but I don't see why it would get taken out of a ROM if it affects ADB usage. I'm assuming I'm missing something

Alternative method to access locked phone w broken screen?

Hi, thanks in advance for helping.
This is the situation.
I want to backup as much as possible items from my phone since it's broken, but:
- The screen is broken
- Device is locked
- USB debugging is DISabled.
I already searched a lot and tried the cmd adb commands to unlock it, but since usb debugging is disabled my device is not found..
I also tried to unlock my device using findmymobile, but somehow it won't unlock it.
I am now able to get Kies to recognize my phone (using recovery mode) and Kies of course noticed my device is locked.
Before I go to the store and buy that OTG cable, I was wondering if there is any way to change the registry of Kies and trick it into thinking my device is not locked. Sorry if this is a really weird question to ask.
OR is there any other way I can unlock my phone from my laptop? I know the pin code, so that is not the problem.
Thanks in advance.

Issue with USB Debugging

So, I followed the directions in the "[H918] recowvery, unlock your V20 root shell - now with TWRP!" thread by jcadduono to unlock the bootloader, however after rebooting out of the bootloader, I now find that I can't re-enable USB Debugging(it is greyed out and off) and I can't disable OEM Unlock(not that I'd want to, but it is on and greyed out). This is making it to where I can no longer allow ADB to access my phone via USB, and so I can't continue on with root. I've uninstalled and reinstalled all the V20 drivers on my computer just in case, but adb doesn't see any devices connected, which is really weird, since, as I said, I already unlocked the bootloader... Has anyone else had this issue? Am I missing something obvious?
Edit: So I figured this out. For anyone having a similar issue, this actually seems to be something with the phone, if you toggle off developer mode and then turn it back on you can change the USB Debugging option state, but you have to be quick, because it will lock the option after a second. After I obtained root this issue went away entirely and I can now toggle it on and off whenever... I'll chock it up to a weird bug, but I've updated this post with a solution.
Thank you. I Ran into this right now, worked perfectly.

Any way to root or unlock the bootloader without ADB or any USB connection?

Hi all,
I'm in an interesting situation. I have a Moto G4 (athene) with a non-functional microUSB port - that is, it won't charge, connect to my PC over ADB or even MTP. The port is soldered on to the motherboard and not replaceable.
I've figured out a solution for charging, but since I'm getting into app development I need to be able to connect via ADB. I looked it up and there seems to be a way to enable ADB over WiFi without an initial USB connection - however, this solution appears to require root, and I'm currently not rooted. Normally, the way I would root is by flashing SuperSU, but since I don't have an unlocked bootloader/TWRP on this device, this isn't an option. I tried all the "one click" roots (towelroot, kingroot, kingoroot) but none of them worked.
Is there a way I can root my device, or unlock the bootloader and flash TWRP, without a USB connection at all?
I don't think there is a way to unlock or root without using a USB cable at some point in the process unfortunately. A few of the tutorials I've seen require an USB connection to initiate the ADB over WiFi session or as you've mentioned, requires root.
I think the best bet for now would be to get the micro USB port repaired, under warranty if you can. Requesting the bootloader unlock code will void any remaining warranty so if your device is still under warranty, you may want to get it fixed. Some repair shops may be able to repair the micro USB port cheaper than a motherboard repair but check their reliability before committing.

How to recover files from a phone with broken screen? (OP6T)

Hi, I'm an OnePlus 6T owner and I have problem. I recently broke the display of my phone and now the screen can't turn on. Is there a way to extract the files from the phone? My default mode for connecting to a computer is charging and I can't simply transfer the files to my PC. Also, I don't think I have USB debugging on. If anyone knows a method that I can try, please post it.
I don't know if this requires usb debugging to be on but trying "adb pull" might work.

Click to collapse
It does.
The first thing I do is turn on USB debugging on all my phones.
Right after BL unlock and root that is.
